WGME-TV is the CBS-affiliated television station for Southern Maine and Northern New Hampshire that is licensed to Portland. The station broadcasts a high definition digital signal on UHF channel 38 from a transmitter on Brown Hill west of Raymond. Owned by the Sinclair Broadcast Group, the station has studios on the corner of Washington Avenue and Northport Drive in the North Deering section of Portland. Syndicated programming on WGME includes: Entertainment Tonight, The Insider, Dr. Oz, and Judge Judy.

Its first broadcast was on May 16, 1954 as WGAN-TV, owned by Guy Gannett Communications along with WGAN-AM 560 and the Portland Press-Herald. When the radio station was sold in 1984, the WGAN call letters went with them. WGAN-TV then changed its call sign to the current "WGME-TV". It remained the flagship station of Guy Gannett Communications until the company sold most of its television stations, including WGME, to the Sinclair Broadcast Group in 1998. The 493.5-meter (1,619 foot) tall transmission tower of WGME, situated in Raymond, was built in 1959. It was, according to the 1999 Guinness Book of World Records, the world's tallest architectural structure in those days. It was surpassed by KFVS-TV's tower in Cape Girardeau, Missouri in 1960. However, it remained the tallest structure in Maine until the erection of WMTW's tower in 2002. This station ceased airing analog on February 17, 2009 and broadcasts digitally-only on channel 38. WGME recently updated their website to better represent their "More Local" motto. WGME.com was updated on November 10th, 2011.

Jennifer Chambers Lynch (born April 7, 1968) is an American film director and screenwriter, best known for writing the book The Secret Diary of Laura Palmer and for being Hollywood's youngest female writer and director with her 1993 feature film Boxing Helena.

Lynch was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the daughter of artist and filmmaker David Lynch and painter Peggy Reavey. She began practicing Transcendental Meditation when she was six years old.

Lynch was educated in Los Angeles and Michigan (at the prestigious Interlochen Arts Academy) and, as a teen, played the role of a little girl in her father's movie Eraserhead. After that she worked as a production assistant on her father's Blue Velvet (1986). She authored The Secret Diary of Laura Palmer to accompany the television show Twin Peaks (created by her father and Mark Frost). She also wrote an episode of Friday the 13th: The Series.

Her commissioned screenplay for Boxing Helena, which she would later go on to direct, attracted many actresses, including Madonna.Sherilyn Fenn, who was one of the stars of her father's Twin Peaks and Wild at Heart, ultimately was cast for the part of Helena. Kim Basinger was also attached and was famously sued after walking away. The controversy surrounding that case, as well as feminist outcry over Helena's sadistic subject matter and accusations of nepotism, accompanied the movie's critical drubbing upon its release in 1993.

Gino Bona (born April 14, 1973) is an American marketing professional. In January 2007, he won the National Football League's "Pitch Us Your Idea For the Best Super Bowl Commercial Ever" contest. His concept was turned into a commercial that aired on February 4, 2007 during the Super Bowl XLI telecast on CBS.

Gino was born and raised in Buffalo, New York. In 1995, he graduated from Ithaca College with a degree in Television/Radio.

From 1995 to 2001, Gino held various copywriting jobs for advertising agencies and businesses throughout Washington DC. Gino moved to Massachusetts in late 2001 and started writing a weekly sports column on his Web site, “Wink & The Gun.” In December 2002, Gino joined ESPN.com’s Page 2 as a freelance columnist. In addition to writing columns for ESPN.com, Gino teamed up with Eric Kielb to write and record song parodies for Page 2 under the alias “Bristol Bob & The Page 2 Crue.” After contributing dozens of columns and songs, Gino parted ways with ESPN.com in early 2006.
