The underscore [ _ ] (also called understrike, underbar, low line, underdash, lower part of z or low dash) is a character that originally appeared on the typewriter and was primarily used to underline words. To produce an underlined word, the word was typed, the typewriter carriage was moved back to the beginning of the word, and the word was overtyped with the underscore character.
This character is sometimes used to create visual spacing within a sequence of characters, where a whitespace character is not permitted, e.g., in computer filenames, e-mail addresses, and in World Wide Web URLs. Some computer applications will automatically underline text surrounded by underscores: _underlined_ will render underlined. It is often used in ASCII-only media (E-mail, IRC, Instant Messaging) for this purpose. When the underscore is used for emphasis in this fashion, it is usually interpreted as indicating that the enclosed text is underlined or italicized (as opposed to bold, which is indicated by *asterisks*).
Nancy Stark Smith (born 1952, Brooklyn, New York) is a dancer and founding participant in contact improvisation.
An alumna of Oberlin College, Smith initially trained as an athlete and gymnast. She studied and performed in modern dance and postmodern dance shows in the early 1970s. She danced in the first contact improvisation shows in 1972, and has since worked as a dancer, performer, instructor, author, and organizer. She has travelled the world to teach and present shows of contact and improvised dance.
She has collaborated with numerous partners including Steve Paxton, Julyen Hamilton, Karen Nelson, and, recently, the musician Mike Vargas. In 1975, she founded Contact Quarterly, an international journal of dance and improvisation, which she continues to co-edit and produce.
The Flintstones is an animated, prime-time American television sitcom that was broadcast from September 30, 1960 to April 1, 1966, on ABC. The original pilot episode clip however was called the "Flagstones" (which first appeared in 1959 as a 90 second promotion to draw advertisers to the show) and was later reincorporated into the show's 1st episode (3rd episode in original airdate order). The show's name was changed to "The Flintstones" shortly thereafter. The show was produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions, The Flintstones was about a working class Stone Age man's life with his family and his next-door neighbor and best friend.
The show's continuing popularity rested heavily on its juxtaposition of modern everyday concerns in the Stone Age setting.
The show is set in the Stone Age town of Bedrock. (In some of the earlier episodes, it was also referred to as "Rockville"). In this fantasy version of the past, dinosaurs, saber-toothed tigers, woolly mammoths, and other long-extinct animals co-exist with cavemen. Like their mid-20th century peers, these cavemen listen to records, live in split-level homes, and eat out at restaurants, yet their technology is made entirely from pre-industrial materials and largely powered through the use of various animals. For example, the cars are made out of stone, wood, and animal skins, and powered by the passengers' feet (as in the theme song, "Through the courtesy of Fred's two feet").
Hoyt Stoddard Curtin (September 9, 1922 – December 3, 2000) was an American composer and music producer, the primary musical director for the Hanna-Barbera animation studio from its beginnings with The Ruff & Reddy Show in 1957 until his retirement in 1986, except from 1963–1973, when the primary music director was Ted Nichols.
Curtin was a native of Downey, California, and had one son, Chris, with his wife Elizabeth.
In the 1950s Curtin was an in-demand composer for TV commercials. He first met Hanna and Barbera when he worked on a Schlitz beer commercial they were producing for MGM in 1957.
He was the composer of many of the Hanna-Barbera cartoons' popular theme songs, including The Flintstones until 1981, Top Cat, The Jetsons, Jonny Quest, Superfriends, Josie and the Pussycats, The Smurfs and The New Scooby-Doo Movies and all its spinoffs until 1986. Beginning in 1959, Curtin also composed many of the stock tunes used as incidental music in the various Hanna-Barbera series. He also was the composer for the 1960 animated series Q.T. Hush, one of the first cartoons to appear in color. He also composed two of the tunes heard in the background in Plan 9 From Outer Space, although he was embarrassed by the film's poor cinematic quality.
I've seen it all before
but this time I'm leaving
You a bloody mess
I kiss you gently
I pray you never live another day
You satisfied, my need to hold you one last time
And I don't think, this was right
You were right I can't be wrong
So stop breathing now
you tear me apart
And the sirens keep on wailing
...down
around me again
Well just know this never helped me
so imagine how i feel
now you're gone for good
your soul can not be saved
remember all those kisses, the pain
we said we'd make it thru someday
you satisfied my need to hold you one last time
and i don't think, this was right, you were
right i can't be wrong so stop breathing now
you tear me apart, and the
sirens keep on wailing down
around me again, just know this never helped me
im leaving you to not be found
if i cant have you no one can
now you tear me apart
and the sirens keep on wailing down
around me again, just know this never helped me
this is what you get for what you did to me
All we need is.
Coffee and cigarettes.
New flames and old regrets.
What more could you ask for.
Cheap wine and poetry dream.
You laying here with me.
The times that I live for.
And someday I'll get out of this place.
And watch the tears melt all the makeup off your face.
So slowly but surely so jaded.
I wont take this Heart breaking pain with me.
So forget me Can't you see we're falling apart.
Blowing kisses in the wind and laughing back at you.
As I fly away from here.
There is no storybook ending.
Just ruined lives and broken hearts.
I don't know why I keep pretending.
I should have left you from the start.
Coffee and cigarettes new faces to forget.
Broken frames with your picture.
And every night's the same.
some bad things never change.
All the right words at all the wrong times.
I'm never better only suffering for you dear.
You know its gonna be a close call if you fear.
That I'm the only one who holds the key.
To breaking up your heart I think the hero.
dies in this one I think.
Every time I sing it's like
I'm singing to no one and nothing at all
Can replace what is missing
You left me the victim but what does it matter
It's here where you're lacking
never get better
And every time you're hearing this song girl
I'm thinking about you
Please hold on
If real love is forever, then forever I'll wait for... YOU (cause I miss you)
Surrender your heart and just know that
I'll miss you
Believe in this trust and never let go
Cause I'm taking your pictures and holding them tight
Cause I don't know when I'll be coming home
These conversations of heartache and distance and sorrow
I know that you're hurting but I think it's killing me more
And if all that you want is to be satisfied
Then open your eyes cause baby I'm all
That you need
tell me one thing did this make it better.
Did you think of me and our time together.
Cause I'm still losing sleep. Bring it together
Always forever always remember Don't let go cause.
Maybe I was desperate for this.
Maybe I let it go too far So far my favorite mistake.
But I did it all for nothing set on fire self-destruct.
Aiming crosshairs to my heart I can see it coming now.
This ones gonna burn.
What if I was begging for this.
For now you turn your back on me.
I hope you fold I know you're bluffing.
And what if I could see right thru you.
Drop dead and look whose laughing now.
I hope you fold I know you're bluffing.
All our time was useless wasted every night and.
What if I could change to make it all work out.
And every time I try to care its never that you realize when.
I'm there hoping that you save me from this free fall down.
I wrote this for you
Hoping that you would give in
You always say remember the good times
You always say you've got a lot to give
But you're number one at giving up on me
Close your eyes Don't think twice
Remember the good times Always those good times baby
You better hope you die
Quicker than it takes you just to open up
Your eyes You should really get your wings clipped
Where was I when you decided things would end like this.
I never said I was okay.
And now my bleeding eyes meet.
Bloody fingernails.
Throwing out the words to try and make it right.
Lets flier the sky with the letters you wrote to me.
Over and over again.
This is not the time to waste on what your feeling.
You always get the better of me and now.
I'm leaving you to yourself.
It's not like I'm missing much.
This is all you're getting from me.
Another sad song like another bad dream.
And I've been taken for granted.
This time you've gone too far.
You made it clearer in the first place that.
You never cared.
I'm sick of wasting all my time.
And your pathetic stands to try and make it right.
Are all forgotten lost.
And empty like your heart.
So get up and run.
I wont forget.
To hate you forever.
Feelin like I can't cope with this life
Like my legs can't keep up at this pace and...
...and if I keep this up any longer I'm bound to fall
I'm falling for you
You had to be the one
To squeeze it tight
Well thanks for nothing at all
Feelin like I'm tired of this life
Like I try to sleep but its not alright
And if I keep this up any longer
I'm bound to fall
I'm falling for you
You had to be the one
To squeeze it tight
Well thanks for nothing at all
Falling for you
- had to be the one
To squeeze it tight
Well thanks for nothing at all
I'm bound to fall for you, for you
I'm bound to fall for you, for you
Can you feel it?
Around your throat
You're getting it right
You're getting it right
Do you remember me?
You're getting it right
You're getting it right
Believe me when I say it hurts,
for me to give up all my hope,
and turn my back on you.
You had a change of heart.
(you have no heart)
what was I thinking to tell you that?
what was I thinking when we first met?
Worry for you, the guy in your bed...
Shut your face, turn your back on the world.
Carry on, you run with your crowd,
So do I and now I'm out on my own.
You play your part so well,
and you should be an actor.
Its what you're really good at.
Your a drama queen times fifteen
you ruin everything, at least for me...
Worry for you, the guy in your bed
shut your face turn your back on the world.
Carry on, you run with your crowd,
So do I and now I'm out on my own.
away again. now I'm leaving... I'm leaving you.
Away again. now I'm leaving... I'm leaving you today.
away....
you never knew how much this meant to me.
(Your eyes speak lies and you're making eyes at me. )
when we get older
we'll show her just what its like to play with hearts
and you'll know girl...I'm a bad boy...
