Mumbai /mʊmˈbaɪ/, also known as Bombay /bɒmˈbeɪ/, is the capital of the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is the most populous city in India, and the fourth most populous city in the world, with a total metropolitan area population of approximately 20.5 million. Along with the neighbouring urban areas, including the cities of Navi Mumbai and Thane, it is one of the most populous urban regions in the world. Mumbai lies on the west coast of India and has a deep natural harbour. In 2009, Mumbai was named an Alpha world city. Mumbai is also the richest city in India, and has the highest GDP of any city in South, West or Central Asia.

The seven islands that came to constitute Mumbai were home to communities of fishing colonies. For centuries, the islands were under the control of successive indigenous empires before being ceded to the Portuguese and subsequently to the British East India Company. During the mid-18th century, Mumbai was reshaped by the Hornby Vellard project, which undertook the reclamation of the area between the seven constituent islands from the sea. Completed by 1845, the project along with construction of major roads and railways transformed Bombay into a major seaport on the Arabian Sea. Economic and educational development characterised the city during the 19th century. It became a strong base for the Indian independence movement during the early 20th century. When India became independent in 1947, the city was incorporated into Bombay State. In 1960, following the Samyukta Maharashtra movement, a new state of Maharashtra was created with Bombay as capital. The city was renamed Mumbai in 1996.

Prateik Babbar (Hindi: प्रतीक, Marathi: प्रतीक) (born 28 November 1986) is an Indian actor. He is the son of late actress Smita Patil and actor turned politician Raj Babbar.

Earlier Prateik assisted advertisement filmmaker Prahlad Kakkar for a year as a production assistant. During this time Prateik was cast in advertisement films for several companies, including KitKat^{[citation needed]}.

Prateik made his acting debut in the Aamir Khan production, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, alongside Imran Khan and Genelia D'Souza. His portrayal of Genelia's brother, Amit, won him several awards and nominations^{[citation needed]}. The film went on to become a major commercial success. He next appeared in Kiran Rao's Dhobi Ghaat, which opened to positive reviews at film festivals worldwide. He featured in the action-thriller Dum Maro Dum alongside Abhishek Bachchan and Rana Daggubati. He has been seen alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Manoj Bajpai in the Prakash Jha film Aarakshan, released in August 2011^{[citation needed]}.

Pooja Chopra is an Indian model and film actress. In 2009, she was crowned as the Femina Miss India. She was also a semifinalist at Miss World and won the Beauty With A Purpose award at Miss World 2009 in Johannesburg, South Africa.

When Chopra was 20 days old, her mother left her father, who had previously announced his intention to marry someone else. Pooja Chopra is resident of Pune in Maharashtra. She completed most of her school and college in Pune. Pooja won most of the local Pune beauty pageants.

Pooja Chopra was crowned with the 2009 Femina Miss India East on February 17, 2009, at Kolkata. She also won Miss Perfect 10, Miss Catwalk, Miss Beautiful Smile, Talwarkars Best Body and Nakshatra Miss Sparkling Beauty, thus gaining direct entry into the top ten finalists of the Femina Miss India 2009. On April 5, 2009 Pooja Chopra was crowned the Pantaloons Femina Miss India-World 2009.

Chopra sprained her ankle while running down a flight of stairs one week prior to the Miss World final on December 12, 2009. Doctors advised her 3 weeks complete bed-rest, but she continued with the competition. Chair of the Miss World Organization Julia Morley suggested that Pooja drop out of the dance round, and so she took only a few steps before being allowed to stop. She finished as one of the top sixteen finalists.

Hiten Tejwani is an Indian television actor from Mumbai, India.

Tejwani was born and brought up in Mumbai, to a cloth merchant father and a home maker mother. He has two younger brothers. He was educated at Saint Francis D'Assisi High School and then at the Jai Hind College, when he joined the Ankur Theatre Group.

Tejwani played a role in the serial Ghar Ek Mandir which was aired on Sony Entertainment Television. This was followed by Kabhie Sautan Kabhie Saheli and Kahiin Kisi Roz. His most notable performance was the character Pratham in Kutumb. After Kutumb, he joined Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi as Karan Virani.

Pradhan is married to his co-star from Kutumb and Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Gauri Pradhan Tejwani. They have two children.

Sherlyn Chopra (formerly known as Mona Chopra) is an Indian model, singer and actress.

Chopra was the second guest on Bigg Boss (Season 3). She was evicted from the show on Day 27. She was also a presenter at the 55th Filmfare Awards held in February 2010.

Sherlyn Chopra has always desired to stay in the limelight. On 12 February 2012, after her birthday she published her first naked photo on twitter (Her twitter handle is @SherlynChopra), which was later deleted by twitter.
