Racing NSW puts heat on Bathurst club
Last Wednesday, Racing NSW sent a letter to Bathurst Thoroughbred Racing seeking a written response within seven days in respect of its racing licence being suspended. Racing NSW suspended the club's licence on January 17 following an unbelievable fiasco in which the track was heavily watered on the morning of the scheduled meeting and it had to be abandoned. It was the second drama after the sprinklers came on during the final race at a previous meeting. The club's management structure is also believed to be under scrutiny. When the letter is received Racing NSW will determine if any further action is required.
