Now that we're living in Germany, we have huge oppourunities to see the world!! Our first trip out of the country was to Prague, Czech Republic. We stayed in Praha 1, centrally located to almost everything! Super close to the metro and other sources of transportation. The country is beautiful and the locals are nice. Food is cheap!! Most places cost us under $30 for a family of 4 including alcohol. Charles Bridge, The Cathedral and Castle, River Boat Cruise. Lego Museum, Farmers Market, The PUB, are all some of the things we go to explore while there.

River Noe
The River Noe is a tributary of the River Derwent in Derbyshire, England. It flows approximately 12 miles (19 km) from its source, the confluence of two streams running off Kinder Scout in the Peak District, east through Edale and then southeast through the village of Hope.
The river flows into the River Derwent a kilometre south of Bamford. The entire length of the river is closely followed by the Hope Valley (Manchester to Sheffield) railway line.
The portion of the river downstream of Hope, along with the valley of the River Noe's main tributary, Peakshole Water, is known as the Hope Valley.
Like many rivers in Derbyshire, the Noe was used historically to power water mills, originally these were mainly corn mills but during the industrial revolution some were rebuilt for other uses.
One example of this was the cotton mill at Edale; built in the late 18th century it shares a common design with other mills of the period, including multiple floors with large windows and a shallow pitched roof. There was also a corn and saw mill at Hope, driven by an 11 ft water wheel.

We stayed in Praha 1, centrally located to almost everything! Super close to the metro and other sources of transportation. The country is beautiful and the locals are nice. Food is cheap!! Most places cost us under $30 for a family of 4 including alcohol. Charles Bridge, The Cathedral and Castle, River Boat Cruise. Lego Museum, Farmers Market, The PUB, are all some of the things we go to explore while there.

Most paddlers never visit the Peak District as the area is not known for its whitewater potential and the poor information available. Did you know that currently (2012) there is undisputed access to only about 1 mile of moving water in the whole of the Peak District National Park? We need people out publicly paddling the Peak's rivers to remind the PDNPA and EA etc that there are other river users out there apart from anglers. The River Noe is a small spate stream rising on Kinder and flowing from Upper Booth down throught the Edale Valley and on to Hope. Past Hope it joins Peakshole Water flowing from Castleton and the caves and once united it continues to Mytham Bridge and the mighty Derwent. Most paddlers never visit the Peak District as the area is not known for its whitewater potential and the poor information available. Did you know that currently (2012) there is undisputed access to only about 1 mile of moving water in the whole of the Peak District National Park?

The River Noe is a small spate stream rising on Kinder and flowing from Upper Booth down throught the Edale Valley and on to Hope. Past Hope it joins Peakshole Water flowing from Castleton and the caves and once united it continues to Mytham Bridge and the mighty Derwent.
The entire river is now thought to have been paddled and this is the best 'gorge & tunnel' section. The level is roughly the lowest you'd get away with, which is a medium flow for the river. This was filmed on a GoPro HD Hero2 that had only been out of the box for 30 mins, so apologies for the not too great cinematography.

Most paddlers never visit the Peak District as the area is not known for its whitewater potential and the poor information available. Did you know that currently (2012) there is undisputed access to only about 1 mile of moving water in the whole of the Peak District National Park?
We need people out publicly paddling the Peak's rivers to remind the PDNPA and EA etc that there are other river users out there apart from anglers.
The River Noe is a small spate stream rising on Kinder and flowing from Upper Booth down throught the Edale Valley and on to Hope. Past Hope it joins Peakshole Water flowing from Castleton and the caves and once united it continues to Mytham Bridge and the mighty Derwent.
The entire river is now thought to have been paddled and this is the best 'gorge & tunnel' section. The level is roughly the lowest you'd get away with, which is a medium flow for the river.
