The BCCI have set up a 12 team inter-corporate tournament to take part just before the start of the Ranji Trophy. The tournament is a 50 over a side tournament involving corporate teams from India. All the top Indian Cricketers are expected to play along with academy cricket players and those who play regular domestic cricket in India.

The corporate trophy will act as a high-profile starter to the Indian Domestic Cricket Season and will bring the Indian Cricketers back into 50-over cricket. The BCCI's prime objective is to promote employment opportunities for domestic cricketers in India's corporate houses. The board has invited 12 corporate teams to take part which will involve some of India's top cricketers.

The winners will win Rs 1 crore {US$204,272} while the runners=up will receive Rs 50 lakh {US$102,109} however, the BCCI will be not another IPL as no foreign players will take part and no promotional campaigns.

The tournamant will also involve a lot of players who played in the unofficial ICL, therefore the tournament could look to kill of the ICL. Some of the ICL players have said that after the announcement of the Corporate Trophy, they had received calls from their employers asking them to cut ties with the rebel league.

Ishant Sharma  pronunciation (help·info) (born 2 September 1988) is an Indian cricketer. He is a right arm fast-medium bowler. Sharma has a high arm delivery action and does not swing the ball but depends on pace and movement off the seam.

At the age of 18, Sharma was called to join the Indian squad for the tour of South Africa in 2006–07. However, after receiving the call and organising travel arrangements, it was decided not to send him on the tour. In reference to his height and lean physique, the 1.92-metre (6 ft 4 in) bowler is nicknamed Lambu. In 2011 he became the fifth youngest player to take 100 Test wickets.

Ishant plays for Delhi in domestic cricket and has taken 68 wickets in 14 first-class games, including a five-wicket haul against Baroda on the opening day of a match Delhi drew after failing to bowl Baroda out on the fourth day.

Ishant toured England with the India Under-19s in 2006 and Pakistan in 2006–07. He played three youth tests and six youth One Day Internationals for India.

Lalit Kumar Modi, (Hindi: ललित कुमार मोदी; born November 29, 1963, Delhi, India) is one of the architects of the Indian Premier League (IPL)

Best known for his stint as the Chairman and Commissioner of the Indian Premier League and the Chairman of the Champions League, between 2008 and 2010, he has also occupied the roles of Vice President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), between 2005 and September 2010, and Vice President of the Punjab Cricket Association.

Lalit Modi is also the President and Managing Director of Modi Enterprises and the Executive Director of Godfrey Phillips India.

Lalit Kumar Modi was born into a wealthy and successful business family. His father Krishan Kumar Modi is Chairman of Modi Enterprises, a Rs40 billion business empire, which was founded by his grandfather, Rai Bahadur Gujarmal Modi, who also founded the town of Modinagar.

Lalit Modi is married to Minal, whom he met while studying in the USA. Modi has three children, Karima, Ruchir and Aliya.

Narayanaswami Srinivasan is an Indian industrialist, chemical engineer, sports administrator and socialite who is the Managing-Director of the India Cements Limited. Srinivasan, who was elected as the Secretary of BCCI under Manohar in September 2008 and earlier was the treasurer of the Board under Sharad Pawar, is the Cricket Board's incumbent and 30th President.

Srinivasan is the son of T. S. Narayanaswami, co-founder of India Cements. He holds a B.Sc. (Tech) from Madras University, a M.Sc. from the University of Chicago and completed his post-graduation in Chemical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology.

Srinivasan took over as Vice Chairman and Managing Director of India Cements Limited in 1989 and has served for twenty-three years. Srinivasan served as the President of the Madras Chamber of Commerce and Industry from 1996 to 1998 and is a member of the Executive Committee of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). He has also served as the honorary Sheriff of Madras from 1989 to 1991.

Ehsan Mani is a former President of the International Cricket Council (ICC). He was born in Rawalpindi in Pakistan on March 23, 1945. He spent his early life in Pakistan playing for the Rawalpindi Club and Government College Lahore XI from 1959 to 1965 as a right-hand batsman and a left-arm fast medium bowler before moving to the United Kingdom to complete his further studies. Mani is a Chartered Accountant by profession and has resided in the UK since the late-1960s.

From 1989 to 1996, Mani represented the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in the ICC. For the 1996 Cricket World Cup, he was on the advisory committee as the PCB representative. He was also on the same committee during the 1999 Cricket World Cup played in England. In 1996, he was elected by the ICC member nations to the position of Chairman of the ICC Finance and Marketing Committee. He held on to this post until it was dissolved in June 2002. After that he took over as the Vice-President of the ICC Executive Board. He has also served on a number of ICC Committees, such as the Chairman's Advisory Committee, set up to advise Lord Cowdrey and Sir Clyde Walcott during their stint as ICC President. Other committees he has been a part of are the Rules Review Committee and the Governance and Organisation Committee. In June 2003, he became the ICC President.
