50th Anniversary Economic Summit Saginaw Valley State University 50th Anniversary Economic Summit will provide business and community leaders with an understanding of the Great Lakes Bay Region's economic state for the past, present, and future. Through continued collaboration the region can continue to thrive and overcome obstacles. The Economic Summit will provides its viewers with the history of the economic development in this region for the last 50 years, highlight SVSU's involvement, and present the future economic growth in the Great Lakes Bay Region. Andrew N. Liveris - President, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer Andrew N. Liveris is President, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Dow Chemical Company, a global specialty chemical, advanced material, agrosciences and plastics company based in Midland, Michigan with 2012 annual sales of approximately $57 billion. An advocate for the criticality of manufacturing, Liveris serves as Co-Chair of President Obama's Advanced Manufacturing Partnership, and is the author of Make It in America, which presents a comprehensive set of practical policy solutions and business strategies for reviving this important sector. In recognition of his efforts in this area, Liveris has been honored with the Distinguished Performance Award for Excellence in Public Policy from the Committee for Economic Development and the International Leadership Award from the United States Council for International Business. Liveris sits on the board of directors of IBM and the Special Olympics, is chairman of the U.S. Business Council, vice chair of the Business Roundtable, a member of the U.S. President's Export Council. He serves as a trustee for the The Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow Foundation, the California Institute of Technology and the United States Council for International Business. In 2012, Liveris co-founded The Hellenic Initiative (THI), to support economic renewal in Greece through entrepreneurship, business development and investment, and serves as chairman of the Board.
