The most difficult and adventurous holy trip, Parvathmalai located near Polur, Tiruannamalai dist. Only few people get to know about this place and in that few can reach to have dharshan of Lord shiva.
Located in Tiruvannamalai district, is around 200 Km drive from Chennai. The Sithar Malai is full of herbs, known for its medicinal value. There is a Shiva Temple and Vitoba Swamigal tomb at the top of the hills, which is estimated to be at a height of 3500 ft. Anyone can do their own spiritual rites to God here, whereas everywhere else it is carried out only by a priest.
We are pleased to meet Mr. VIKAS PANDIYAN and his team for their highly appreciable and mission impossible task, Renovation of temple at the hill top. Really hats off to them, One could truly understand their effort only after physically visiting the temple. Please donate generously and extend your help in your possible way.
It will take 3 to 6 hrs to reach top, Plenty of small shops available around the route for your basic needs. The temple on the cliff is small, there is no much area to get around, take required pooja items with you. Mobile network will work almost till up to the hill (Surprised !!)

Parvati Hill is a hillock in Pune, India. The hillock rises to 2,100 feet (640 m) above sea level. Atop the hillock is the Parvati Temple, one of the most scenic locations in Pune. The temple is the oldest heritage structure in Pune and was built during the rule of the Peshwa dynasty. For visitors, Parvati hill is also an observation point that offers a panoramic view of Pune. It is the second highest point in Pune (after Vetal Hill). The hill has 103 steps leading to the top of the hill where the temple is situated.
The main temple, Devdeveshwara, is made of blackstone. It was completed under Balaji Baji Rao, in 1749. Other temples are dedicated to Vitthal and Rukmini, Vishnu, and Kartikeya.

The temples open at 5:00 am and close at 8:00 pm.
Other structures
Besides the temple, the Peshwa Museum is situated there. The samadhi of Balaji Baji Rao lies, where he spent the last moment of his life. Parvati water tank supplies water to the half of the city (Pune).

The most difficult and adventurous holy trip, Parvathmalai located near Polur, Tiruannamalai dist. Only few people get to know about this place and in that few can reach to have dharshan of Lord shiva.
Located in Tiruvannamalai district, is around 200 Km drive from Chennai. The Sithar Malai is full of herbs, known for its medicinal value. There is a Shiva Temple and Vitoba Swamigal tomb at the top of the hills, which is estimated to be at a height of 3500 ft. Anyone can do their own spiritual rites to God here, whereas everywhere else it is carried out only by a priest.
We are pleased to meet Mr. VIKAS PANDIYAN and his team for their highly appreciable and mission impossible task, Renovation of temple at the hill top. Really hats off to them, One could truly understand their effort only after physically visiting the temple. Please donate generously and extend your help in your possible way.
It will take 3 to 6 hrs to reach top, Plenty of small shops available around the route for your basic needs. The temple on the cliff is small, there is no much area to get around, take required pooja items with you. Mobile network will work almost till up to the hill (Surprised !!)

Parvati is one of the favourite relaxation spots for the residents of Pune. The height of Parvati hill is 2100 feet above sea level and 260 feet from the city level. The hill offers an aerial view of the city and the most picturesque scene in the early hours of the day. Parvati hill houses one big and three small temples.
Parvati is the daily visiting place for a number of citizens and for many people, going to Parvati (103 steps) forms a part of their daily exercise regimen. Being the highest point in Pune and having conveniently located observation points, the beautiful panaromic view of Pune city leaves visitors spellbound. Beautiful sunrise and sunset views are like the icing on the cake.
One has to climb 103 steps to reach the hilltop. The steps are an example of fine stone work of the Maratha period. A special black quarry stone has been used for all these steps. It is weather-resistant and except for a few places, the stone has survived for over two hundred and fifty years even after being fully exposed to sun, wind and water. The steps are so wide that an elephant can easily walk with all pomp and gaiety towards the temple. They are not too steep and even old people can climb with ease. It is an enjoyable sight to see children running up and down tha hill
