An absolute must see if you are going to Tokyo. This was my favorite garden in the city by far. A vicarious travel experience provided by Chelsea Middlebrook- Enjoy!

► Koishikawa Korakuen is the third of my 3 favorite gardens of Tokyo. (the other two being Kiyosumi & Rikugien) It's located nearby Suidobashi St. (JR Line) or Korakuen St. (Metro) It's quite nice, with lots of variety in the landscape. Construction of the garden started in 1629 by Tokugawa Yorifusa, and it is one of only two surviving Edo period gardens in modern Tokyo. Usually, now would be the time for me to write "I highly recommend visiting this garden if you get the chance" as this is undeniably a nice place. However, it is under construction until mid 2015, which is why - among other things - one of my favourite spots of this place, a small waterfall, is missing. (and also another lake, that for the same reason isnt featured in this video) Still a nice place, and the very first Japanese garden I visited in Tokyo. - Enjoy!
