A duffle coat, or duffel coat, is a coat made from duffle, a coarse, thick, woollen material. The name derives from Duffel, a town in the province of Antwerp in Belgium where the material originates. Duffle bags were originally made from the same material.

There are many varying styles to the duffle coat, although the most common British style would be composed of the following features:

The wooden toggle-fastenings were made to be easily fastened and unfastened while wearing gloves in cold weather at sea. Current designs have toggles made of buffalo horn, wood or plastic. The oversized hood offered enough room to wear over a Naval cap. After rain, a duffle coat has a characteristic smoky smell.

The duffle coat owes its popularity to the British Royal Navy, who issued a camel-coloured variant of it as an item of warm clothing during World War I. The design of the coat was modified slightly and widely issued during World War II. In the Navy, it was referred to as a "convoy coat". Field Marshal Montgomery was a famous wearer of the coat, as a means of identifying himself with his troops, leading to another nickname, "Monty coat". Large stocks of post-war military surplus coats available at reasonable prices to the general public meant that these coats became a ubiquitous and popular item of clothing in the 1950s and 1960s. The British firm Gloverall purchased surplus military supply of coats after World War II and have continued to still make the Monty ever since and in 1954 started producing their own version of the Duffle coat and continue to do so today still being Made In England. Gloverall made in the 50's what is known as today's Duffle by using leather fastenings and Buffalo horn toggles with a double faced checkback fabric. Every Duffle coat you see today in that configuration is a copy of that original made by Gloverall.

Denaun Porter (born December 7, 1978), also known as Denaun and Mr. Porter, is an American rapper and record producer.

Porter was an original member of the Detroit hip hop group D12.

Throughout his career he has both produced and performed vocally, producing songs for many notable artists such as Eminem, Busta Rhymes, Snoop Dogg and 50 Cent (produced the song "P.I.M.P.").

Denaun is Eminem's current hype man after the death of D12 band member Proof.

Porter was a co-executive producer, with Eminem, for Bad Meets Evil's debut album Hell: The Sequel. He also has a cameo appearance in their music video "Fast Lane" as well as "Forever" by Drake, Kanye West, Lil Wayne and Eminem, and "No Love" by Eminem and Lil Wayne.

Denaun is planning to release his debut studio album The Memo in 2012.

On March 24, 2012, Porter announced through Twitter that he had left D12. He said that he wanted to focus on being a solo artist, but clarified that he holds no animosity toward other members of the group.

Ralph Lauren (born Ralph Lifshitz, October 14, 1939) is an American fashion designer and business executive; best known for his Polo Ralph Lauren clothing brand.

Ralph Lauren was born Ralph Lifshitz in the Bronx, New York, to Ashkenazi Jewish immigrants, from Pinsk, Belarus: Fraydl (née Kotlar) and Frank Lifshitz, a house painter.

Ralph attended the Salanter Academy Jewish Day School followed by MTA (now known as the Marsha Stern Talmudical Academy), before eventually graduating from DeWitt Clinton High School in 1957. In MTA Lauren was known by his classmates for selling ties to his fellow students. In a moment of spontaneity, when asked what he wanted to do in his Clinton yearbook he stated under his picture that he wanted to be a millionaire. During the summer, Ralph attended Camp Roosevelt (Monticello).

At the age of 16, Ralph's brother Jerry (who was his guardian) changed their last name to Lauren to avoid the unfortunate obscenity reference Lifshitz has in English (although Ralph's brother Lenny retained the name). Apparently Ralph was teased about it in school. “My given name has the word shit in it,” he told Oprah Winfrey. “When I was a kid, the other kids would make a lot of fun of me. It was a tough name. That's why I decided to change it. Then people said, "Did you change your name because you don't want to be Jewish?" I said, "Absolutely not. That's not what it's about. My cousins who lived in California had changed their last name to Lawrence. So I just thought, "I'm going to pick a nice last name"—it wasn't particularly connected to anything or anyone."

Tommy Hilfiger (Thomas Jacob Hilfiger, born March 24, 1951) is an American fashion designer and founder of the premium lifestyle brand Tommy Hilfiger Corporation.

Hilfiger was born in Elmira, New York. The second of nine children of a jeweler and an Irish-American nurse, he grew up in an German-Swiss/Irish-American family. Hilfiger also claims direct descendence from the Scottish poet Robert Burns. His parents originally intended for him to be an engineer.

He attended the Elmira Free Academy for high school. He also attended GST BOCES Bush Campus in Elmira, New York for Fashion Design.

Rather than furthering his education, he started to work in retail at the age of 18. Hilfiger would go to New York City to buy jeans and bell-bottom pants, which he customized and resold at Brown's, a local downtown Elmira store.

He later opened his own store, named The People's Place, around the block in downtown Elmira. Over the years, a number of stores closed in downtown Elmira as shopping traffic shifted to the new Arnot Mall in Horseheads, New York.^{[citation needed]} After seven years, The People's Place went bankrupt, when Hilfiger was 25. The site of the original store has since been demolished to make room for First Arena, home of the Elmira Jackals Hockey team.^{[citation needed]}

Capitol K is the name under which Kristian Craig Robinson works as a musician combining electronica, found sounds and indie-pop. Born in Malta and raised in Dubai, Brunei and England, and now based in London, Capitol K is best known for the single Pillow which scraped into the top 100 UK Singles Chart at 99 on the 9th of March 2002.

Robinson was first signed to the record label Planet Mu and then to V2 before he created the Faith and Industry label which has released recent Capitol K material.

His early releases combined lo-fi elements with hi-fi production and electronically reproduced sounds that went someway to establishing the folktronica genre along with fellow artists and collaborators Leafcutter John and Tunng.

In 2000 he submitted a cover of the Prince song "Dance On" for the tribute album "If I Was Prince" released by Rex Records. "Dance On" is taken from Prince's album Lovesexy (1988).

K has also worked as a producer, notably recording and releasing Patrick Wolf's first album entitled Lycanthropy which has since been re-released by Tomlab. He has gone on to recorded artists such as Serafina Steer, Shimmy Rivers and and Canal, and Bradford Cox of the bands Deerhunter and Atlas Sound.
