Tinia
Tinia (also Tin, Tinh, Tins or Tina) was the god of the sky and the highest god in Etruscan mythology, equivalent to the Roman Jupiter and the Greek Zeus. He was the husband of Thalna or Uni and the father of Hercle.
The Etruscans believed in Nine Great Gods, who had the power of hurling thunderbolts; they were called Novensiles by the Romans. Of thunderbolts there were eleven sorts, of which Tinia, as the supreme thunder-god, wielded three. Tinia was also part of the powerful "trinity" that included Menrva and Uni and had temples in every city of Etruria. Tinia was sometimes represented as seated and with a beard or sometimes standing and beardless. In terms of symbolism, Tinia has the thunderbolt and the rod of power, and is generally accompanied by the eagle and sometimes has a wreath of ivy round his head, in addition to the other insignia of Jove.
Some of Tinia's defining epithets are detailed on the Piacenza Liver, a bronze model of a liver used for haruspicy. Some of his epithets inscribed there include Tin Cilens, Tin Θuf and Tinś Θne, which are commonly translated as sun of darkness/underworld, sun of law/oath, and sun of thunder/storm.

The main symptom of ringworm is a rash. It may look red, silver or darker than surrounding skin, depending on your skin tone. The rash may be scaly, dry, swollen or itchy. Ringworm can appear anywhere on the body, including the scalp (tinea capitis) and groin (jock itch).
Treatment of ringworm:

SUMMARY:
Jock itch is a fungal skin infection that causes an itchy rash in warm, moist areas of the body. The rash often affects the groin and inner thighs and may be shaped like a ring - hence the name 'ringworm of the groin'. The condition is also called tinea cruris.
Jock itch gets its name because it's common in athletes. It's also common in people who sweat a lot. The condition can range from mild to serious. It usually clears up in 1 to 3 weeks with antifungal creams and self care.

Doctor O'Donovan explains Tinea corporis (aka ringworm), including signs and symptoms, causes, treatment and more!
Symptoms of ringworm:
The main symptom of ringworm is a rash. It may look red, silver or darker than surrounding skin, depending on your skin tone. The rash may be scaly, dry, swollen or itchy. Ringworm can appear anywhere on the body, including the scalp (tinea capitis) and groin (jock itch).
Treatment of ringworm:
Several nonprescription (over-the-counter) and prescription antifungal medications are available to treat ringworm. Antifungals come in various forms like creams, gels or powders. Your healthcare provider can treat more widespread ringworm with oral antifungal medication.
Over-the-counter (OTC) antifungal creams, gels or powders typically work well. OTC products include:
Clotrimazole (Lotrimin® or Mycelex®).
Miconazole (Desenex®).
Terbinafine (Lamisil AT®).
Tolnaftate (Tinactin®).
If your symptoms get worse or don't clear after two weeks, you may need an oral prescription medication from your healthcare provider.

Overview of Fungal Skin Infections including Tinea Pedis (Athlete's Foot), Tinea Corporis (Ringworm), Tinea Cruris (Jock Itch), Tinea Capitis and Tinea Unguium.
Lesson on Tinea (Fungal) Skin Infections. Tinea infections are fungal infections of the skin caused by fungi of the genus trichophyton and epidermophyton. Tinea infections can occur anywhere on any epidermal surface, and each infection is named according to its location. For instance, ringworm can occur on various parts of the body including the face, neck, trunk, arms and legs, but other infections like fungal infection on the feet, is named as "Athlete's foot". Another example is tinea capitis, which is a fungal infection of the scalp of the head that can cause hair loss. The clinical presentation of tinea infections is related to the pathphysiology of the fungal species, which involves the fungi metabolizing and digesting a particular protein in our skin, hair and nails. Each tinea infection has particular clinical presentation, and we discuss each of these in detail.

In this video Doctor O'Donovan explains how to recognise and treat Jock Itch - also known as ringworm of the groin or Tinea Cruris. We will cover symptoms of jock itch in both men and women, treatment of jock itch (including creams that can be used to treat it)
SUMMARY:
Jock itch is a fungal skin infection that causes an itchy rash in warm, moist areas of the body. The rash often affects the groin and inner thighs and may be shaped like a ring - hence the name 'ringworm of the groin'. The condition is also called tinea cruris.
Jock itch gets its name because it's common in athletes. It's also common in people who sweat a lot. The condition can range from mild to serious. It usually clears up in 1 to 3 weeks with antifungal creams and self care.

Symptoms of jock itch:
- A spreading rash that begins in the crease of the groin and moves down the upper thigh and buttocks.
- A rash whose center tends to clear as the rash spreads.
- A rash that may be full or partially ring shaped.
- A rash bordered with small blisters.
- Itchiness.
- Scaly skin.
- A rash that might be red, brown, purple or gray depending on your skin color.
When to see a doctor:
See your doctor if your rash is painful or you develop a fever. And seek medical care if the rash hasn't improved after two weeks of self-care with the type of antifungal product you can get without a prescription. Also seek medical care if the rash hasn't cleared up fully after three weeks of treatment.

Tinia
Tinia (also Tin, Tinh, Tins or Tina) was the god of the sky and the highest god in Etruscan mythology, equivalent to the Roman Jupiter and the Greek Zeus. He was the husband of Thalna or Uni and the father of Hercle.
The Etruscans believed in Nine Great Gods, who had the power of hurling thunderbolts; they were called Novensiles by the Romans. Of thunderbolts there were eleven sorts, of which Tinia, as the supreme thunder-god, wielded three. Tinia was also part of the powerful "trinity" that included Menrva and Uni and had temples in every city of Etruria. Tinia was sometimes represented as seated and with a beard or sometimes standing and beardless. In terms of symbolism, Tinia has the thunderbolt and the rod of power, and is generally accompanied by the eagle and sometimes has a wreath of ivy round his head, in addition to the other insignia of Jove.
Some of Tinia's defining epithets are detailed on the Piacenza Liver, a bronze model of a liver used for haruspicy. Some of his epithets inscribed there include Tin Cilens, Tin Θuf and Tinś Θne, which are commonly translated as sun of darkness/underworld, sun of law/oath, and sun of thunder/storm.
