Maya 0:11-0:14: Unity Demo – Evangelist Stand: Gameplay/Visuals demo for Unity 4.x. Rigging, Aniamtion. Maya 0:14-0:17: The Suffering – Burrower Chain Whip: Rigging, keyframing. Chains set up using multiple single-link IK chains to allow for smooth curves and control. Maya 0:17-0:18: The Suffering – Mainliner wind-up/leap: Rigging, Keyframing. Maya 0:20-0:27: Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 Demo – In-Engine demo footage of both the Pilot with malfunctioning scanner and the BoxBot welding antic. Rigging, Keyframing. Maya 0:27-0:29: Burt Destruction – Manimal Walk: Rigging, Keyframing. Maya 0:29-0:30: Burt Destruction – BigBurt Run: Rigging, Keyframing. Gameplay captured from footage on Youtube. 0:42-0:44: Tony Hawk: Ride – Double ForwardFlip-to-Grab: Skateboard controller rigging, Keyframing. This animation (and several like it) required a custom controller setup for the skateboard itself in order to guarantee the rotations the flipped board went through executed properly without gimbal issues. MotionBuilder 0:44-0:45: The Suffering – Guard Thrown Through Window: Keyframing, Rigging. Another dual-character In-Game Cinema, both the guard character and the window glass were separate characters, both keyframed to react in tandem, with a guard’s body being thrown into a room the character was in, creating a “Gotcha” moment. Maya 0:45-0:47: The Suffering – Fester Run: Rigging, Keyframing. Maya 0:47-0:59: Mortal Kombat – Noob Saibot X-Ray: Controller Rigging, Keyframing, Motion Capture. Involved setting up a custom constraint controller solution to keep the victim securely held by the secondary attacker throughout the attack. Also, the time dilation was animated into the sequence to allow for x-ray, vomit, and other effects to be properly applied, and to increase impact of the various strikes. MotionBuilder 0:59-1:03: The Suffering – Guard Dragged Into Vent (In-Game Cinema): Rigging, Keyframing. Two characters (the Burrower Chain and the Guard’s Body), rigged and animated together to achieve the effect of seeing the guard disappear into a vent as you ran up on it in the dark. Maya 1:03-1:11: Unity Demo – Evangelist Locomotion: Turntable Sequence showing the Evangelist's running and walking loops. Rigging, Keyframing. Maya 1:11-1:12: Unity Demo – Small Creature Attack: Bitring Attack for enemy character. Rigging, Keyframing. Maya 1:12-1:14: The Suffering – Mainliner Crawl: Rigging, Keyframing. Maya 1:14-1:20: Mortal Kombat – Stryker’s “Throw” – Away: Primarily Motion Capture data. MotionBuilder 1:20-1:23: Burt Destruction – JetPack Shark: Attack antic when the player jumps over this enemy. Rigging Keyframing. Maya 1:23-1:27: Tony Hawk: Shred – HardFlip 540, In-Game: Keyframing, Motion Capture. In-Game result of one of the various boardflips in Shred (Also, the barely noticeable bystander, screen right). MotionBuilder 1:27-1:29: The Suffering – Suppressor Rush Forward: Rigging, Keyframing. Also handled conceptual design for character movement and behavior after first pass proved to be unengaging to play. Maya 1:29-1:32: Unity Demo – Small Creature Walk: Rigging, Keyframing. Maya 1:32-1:43: Mortal Kombat – Kabal Gut-Rip Fatality: Keyframing, Motion Capture. The first half of this animation up to the beginning of the ripping out of the swords is motion capture for both characters. Upon the intestine-rip, the victim (who is actually two character meshes to allow for the abdomen to open up properly) is keyframed back to allow for proper spacing, and the entire fall, impale, and slide down the swords in entirely keyframed. The intestines are also fully keyframed, and this was accomplished in Maya, after the two actors were completed. MotionBuilder, Maya 1:43-1:53: Mortal Kombat – Kabal Gut-Rip Fatality, In-Game: Same as above, with all in-game effects, showing final product in-game. 1:53-1:56: The Suffering – Isolationist Idle: Rigging, Keyframing.
