Interesting bit of co-operation here - Lyn Jones has the chopper with a maize header and Glan Towy have the John Deere tractors (betting the trailers match the tractors?) The JCB on the pit is also a Glan Towy machine, though Lyn has a new JCB just arrived back at the yard. For the record, Claas Jaguar 900 SP forager, two John Deere 6140R tractors and a Case MXM 155. Cutting was somewhat of a nightmare as the still-green stems slid off the auger and wouldn't feed into the drum, hence causing numerous blockages. Not just here, either. Seems as if the open season we are enjoying has failed to cause the usual die-back of the maize foliage that we expect by now. Filmed in Carmarthenshire, Wales, UK.

Lady luck last night smiled on the people of Uthiru after a lorry that was ferrying maize along the busy Waiyaki way accidently had its doors open spilling all its content on the road. The driver was unaware as he continued driving leaving a trail of maize behind as far as 200 meters. Area resident quickly rushed to the scene armed with sacks and brooms or anything that could help them collect the free maize. Children were also not left behind. There was a huge traffic snarl up as people scattered along the busy road down on their knees sweeping the highways to get the precious commodity. Most of them managed to fill their sacks with the free maize saying it was new year blessings. No one was injured during the incident.
