This is a movie about changing perspectives and hoping for peace and understanding. Synopsis: Zarmina’s story is about a Mother and a child who hope for a better future for themselves. A story of an afghan woman who is brave and courageous, who makes herself capable of going through any problem to bring comfort to her son's life, she does that also by suppressing her traumatic feelings that aren't evident to anyone. She is driven to make her son’s future better. The family is in a war zone and life is difficult. During this journey Zarmina comes face to face with her trauma and overcomes it eventually. Through this film drama, I show that emotions are universal and that two women or two persons hailing from two different cultures or geographical locations can connect with emotions as emotions are universal. That it is about understanding perspectives and making peace within ourselves by reaching out to each other. That forgiveness is the way to peace and by killing each other we make way to more hatred. No matter how different we are…we are all the same inside. Soundtrack of the film: Saliha, the director herself sung the main Farsi lullaby “ lori” in the film.All the music has been prepared just for the film. About the Director: Her name is Saliha and she lives in Sydney Australia. While doing her Masters in Media Arts & Production she focused on documentary making subjects. It was then that she developed an interest in making a film about her cultural upbringing being a Pakistani woman from an Pukhtoon origin residing in Australia. Being a first time film maker, she wanted to study more and more about her culture and her focus grew on the issue of Afghan/Pukhtoon Women. She learnt a great deal about Afghan women who had been a victim of war in that region for many decades.This then led to her to conclusion that these women are the Real War Heroes, having their husbands and sons fight for freedom at the fore front and they are left behind to raise kids with in a society where the man is the main bread winner. While hearing many sad stories of these women, she felt that she should reach out to these women and to give them hope. Saliha wanted the world to understand them the way she understood them.
