ESPN Australia is a 24 hour sports channel offered in Australia and New Zealand.

Initially, ESPN was known as Sports ESPN on the Optus Vision cable television system, and focused on sports aired by its home network in the United States, including American football, baseball, and basketball. In order to expand its local reach, it has shown an increasing amount of football games including La Liga in Spain, UEFA Champions League (shared with SBS), World Cup qualifying games, and Major League Soccer. Also on the network schedule are rugby matches and Cricket matches.

ESPN Australia has also commenced showing locally-produced content including Australian versions of PTI and SportsCenter. They also air a soccer discussion show Monday to Friday called ESPNsoccernet PressPass which is hosted by Andrew Orsatti.

On 1 March 2011 ESPN2 and ESPN2 HD launched in Australia.

It became available on Austar in April 1999, and Foxtel in September 2002.

Novak Djokovic (Serbian: Новак Ђоковић or Novak Đoković; pronounced [nɔ̂ʋaːk dʑɔ̂ːkɔʋitɕ] ( listen); born 22 May 1987) is a Serbian professional tennis player who has been ranked World No. 1 by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) since 4 July 2011. He has won five Grand Slam singles titles: the 2008, 2011 and 2012 Australian Open, the 2011 Wimbledon Championships, and the 2011 US Open. By winning three Majors in 2011, Djokovic became the sixth male player in the open era to win three Majors in a calendar year.

He is the first male player representing Serbia to win a Major singles title and the youngest player in the open era to have reached the semifinals of all four Grand Slam events, separately and consecutively. Amongst other titles, he won the Tennis Masters Cup in 2008 and was on the team which won the 2010 Davis Cup. He also won the bronze medal in singles at the Beijing Olympics in 2008. He has won 11 Masters 1000 series titles placing him joint fourth on the all time list. Djokovic has quickly moved up in the rankings of history. Tennis Channel ranked him number 40 , and former player Pat Cash said he is one of the greatest ever.

Ater Majok (pronounced Ah-TARE Mah-jook) (born July 4, 1987) is an Australian professional basketball player who was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2011 NBA Draft with the 58th overall pick in the 2nd round.

Ater Majok was born in South Sudan in 1987. He migrated to Sydney Australia through a refugee camp in Egypt. Upon arrival in Sydney, he bonded with a group of young men from South Sudan, called the South Stars basketball team.

He attended high school at St Aloysius' College in Sydney, New South Wales, Parramatta Marist High School in Sydney and the American International School in Carlingford, New South Wales where he graduated in 2008.

After graduating, he committed to the University of Connecticut. He sat out during the 2008–09 basketball season because he was not cleared to play by the NCAA. Majok joined the UConn roster in the second semester of the 2008-09 season and became eligible for action at the conclusion of the Fall semester in 2009 and had freshman eligibility.

When the season was over he declared for the 2009 NBA Draft but did not sign with an agent. About a week before the draft he decided to withdraw his name and to return to UConn.

Mark Robert Visser (born 9 March 1983) is an Australian big wave surfer and adventure athlete. He spends his time tracking down some of the biggest waves on the planet utilising innovative technology and pioneers unique ways to surf them. Marks feats are not only about surfing, but adventure, exploration and survival .

Visser is renowned for achieving a night ride on 30-40ft waves at Jaws, Maui, globally known as ‘Night Rider’ . This night ride is the start for an upcoming adventure documentary called ‘Nine Lives’ which Visser is currently working on .

Visser learned to swim when he was 9 and started surfing when he was 10.^{[citation needed]} In his junior years he represented Australia in the Australian School boys team that competed in the Australasian Tournament in New Zealand, finishing 4th in the Taranaki final. He also represented Queensland in his junior year in the Australian Titles in the Open Division.^{[citation needed]}

Mark spent three years competing on the World Qualifying Series (WQS) ASP world tour before focusing on big wave surf events. Visser's past achievements include: 5th in the 2006/2007 APT tow-in tour event in Chile, 7th in the Nelscott Reef Big Wave Paddle In event USA, and runner up in the 2008/2009, 2009/2010 and 2010/2011 Oakley ASL Big Wave Awards. He has also had several waves entered into the XXL awards for biggest wave ridden..
