"Ordinary Love" is a song recorded by American country music artist Shane Minor. It was released in July 1999 as the second single from the album Shane Minor. The song reached number 24 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart and number 8 on the RPM Country Tracks chart in Canada. It was written by Dan Truman of Diamond Rio along with Bob DiPiero and Craig Wiseman.

Music video

The music video was directed by Steven Goldmann and premiered in July 1999. It was filmed in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

"Ordinary Love" is a song by rock band U2. It was written to honour Nelson Mandela and is included in the biography film Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom. The song was given a limited 10-inch vinyl release on Record Store Day, 29 November 2013, less than a week before Mandela died.

"Ordinary Love" peaked at number one on the Top Digital Download chart in Italy, where it was certified platinum by the Federation of the Italian Music Industry. U2 won the 2014 Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song, and in January 2014 the song was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Song, but it lost to "Let It Go" from Frozen.

Writing and recording

U2 had been friends with Nelson Mandela for several years, having played concerts in South Africa. When movie producer Harvey Weinstein invited the band to write a song for the soundtrack of the Mandela biography film Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, they responded with a quick "yes" according to Weinstein. After seeing early cuts of the film, the group were inspired to write a song reflecting upon Mandela. The song was mixed at Electric Lady Studios, New York City.

No Ordinary Love

"No Ordinary Love" is a song by English band Sade from their fourth studio album Love Deluxe (1992). "No Ordinary Love" was released as the album's lead single in the United Kingdom on 8 October 1992, by Epic Records. It peaked at number 26 in the UK when originally released, but reached number 14 when it was re-released in June 1993. In the accompanying music video, Sade Adu is dressed as a mermaid and a bride.

"No Ordinary Love" is considered Sade's signature song, alongside 1984's "Smooth Operator", 1985's "The Sweetest Taboo", and 1988's "Paradise."

Awards

Sade won a Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals in 1994.

"No Ordinary Love" was featured prominently in the 1993 film Indecent Proposal, though it was not included on the film's soundtrack album.

"No Ordinary Love" appeared in the second season episode of NBC's 30 Rock, "Jack Gets in the Game", when Kenneth Parcell tried to seduce Tracy Jordan's wife, Angie Jordan.

This song was used in British English version of TV Series Galaxy World of Alisa in episode Flameful Babies of Blook Sun.
