Charlotte Dawson found dead Tributes are flowing in on social media for the television personality and former model who was found dead in her Sydney home on Saturday morning. The 47-year-old television personality was coping with her two-bedroom apartment on the Finger Wharf going up for auction on Saturday, she felt she was not getting enough promotion for the Logie award votes for her former role as judge on the Foxtel reality TV series Australia's Next Top Model, and she had recently been setting up a homewares range. Advertisement In her last interview just a week ago with Fairfax Media journalist Jo Casamento, Dawson had said she was unsure if she was strong enough to watch the interview which cavassed their failed marriage, his battle with the drug ice, criminal convictions for drug offences, stolen goods and prohibited weapons as well as accusations he was a pimp and a drug dealer. ''I continue to fight my depression - it's a bitch of a thing - and I fear watching something like this as it's the most painful time in my life,'' she said. ''I will be with a friend, but I am not looking forward to it. It was a painful time in my life and it might not be good for me. To me it's well over 10 years ago. This broke me very much. I had to go away for five years and leave this country and rebuild my life ... I've adjusted and moved on but it is still very painful.'' Whatever the trigger points, the troubled New Zealand born star was found about 11.20am on Saturday morning just a few minutes after her apartment was due to be open for inspection ahead of a 12 noon auction. It is understood an agent from real estate company Morton and Morton, which was selling the property, found her. Dawson had spent her last 20 hours at Nine filming a morning show and later brunching with photographer Jamies Jamie while her apartment was open for inspection. The last known photos show her happy and smiling and walking in the sunshine. Dawson's long term manager Mark Byrne paid tribute to her on Saturday, remarking how much people loved her. Janie, Hit By a Car
Janie, Hit By a Car
This is Janie, she was found on the side of the road, presumably hit by a car that did not stop. I was called to come get her as she was suffering and a police officer was on the scene and ready to put her out of her misery. By the time I arrived, she was motionless, except for labored short breaths. She was totally unresponsive, and I told the police officer I would take her to the hospital to euthanize her. He was relieved that he didn't have to be the one to do it. She was lifeless as I lifted her into my truck. When I arrived at the clinic a few minutes later, she raised her head slightly, and I could tell she could see me. That look convinced me to try to help her. Thanks for watching Vet Ranch. This channel is something I have wanted to do for a long time, and I thought Janie would be the perfect first star on the channel. It's hard to start a new youtube channel, so please subscribe, like and share my videos if you like what you see, as that really helps a lot. My goal is to get more veterinarians to share other amazing success stories on this channel. The song is called "Rosa Dear" by Ruth.- published: 19 Feb 2014

BREAKING: Apocalyptic storm rolls over Sydney Australia WARS Rumors of War Revelation End of Times
Apocalyptic storm rolls over Sydney Australia WARS Rumors of War Revelation End of Times Commuters endured a long haul home on Wednesday, with major train and road delays adding to peak hour woes after a severe thunderstorm and heavy rain swept through Sydney's eastern and southern suburbs. The wet weather caused major traffic jams on the roads, with flooding on Sydney Enfield Drive in Bondi Junction and a multi-vehicle accident in Kensington on Southern Cross Drive causing heavy traffic in the eastern suburbs. Sydney commuters experienced delays of up to 30 minutes when buses were caught in traffic jams in the CBD, while southbound traffic stretched back for kilometers on the Harbour Bridge, motorists said. Advertisement "It was period of an hour and it was one of the quieter hours of the airport so it wasn't in the peak time." All flights were back to normal at 6.30pm and each airline would organise to have passengers flown back to Sydney, the spokeswoman said. While the day had been the "sunniest and warmest day" for the past week, the weather took a sudden turn in the afternoon, Weatherzone meteorologist Brett Dutschke said. The song was written by Tamla founder Berry Gordy and Janie Bradford, and became the first hit record for Gordy's Motown enterprise. It went on to be covered by many artists including The Beatles and The Doors, with covers by The Flying Lizards (1979), The Sonics (1965) and The Kingsmen (1964) reaching high chart positions. Anna Records was operated by Gwen Gordy, Anna Gordy and Billy 'Roquel' Davis. Gwen and Anna's brother Berry Gordy had just established his Tamla label (soon Motown would follow), and licensed the song to the Anna label in 1960, which was distributed nationwide by Chicago-based Chess Records in order to meet demand; the Tamla record was a resounding success in the Midwest. The song features Strong curtly demanding that money is what he needs, more than anything else. The single became Motown's first hit in June 1960, making it to #2 on the US R&B; chart and #23 on the US pop chart. The song was listed as #288 on Rolling Stone's "The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time." Singer Barrett Strong claims that he co-wrote the song with Berry Gordy and Janie Bradford. His name was removed from the copyright registration for "Money (That's What I Want)" three years after the song was written, restored in 1987 when the copyright was renewed, and then excised again the next year. Gordy has stated that Strong's name was only included because of a clerical error. The song has been covered by myriad artists, with several of them reaching significant positions in a variety of charts. For example, The Kingsmen reached #16 on the Billboard Hot 100 and Bern Elliott and the Fenmen reached #14 on the UK singles chart. The best known cover versions were performed by The Beatles and by The Flying Lizards, whose version peaked at number twenty-two on the dance charts. Led Zeppelin covered it on June 30, 1980 at the Festhalle Frankfurt in Frankfurt, Germany during an encore on their Tour Over Europe 1980 tour. Cliff Richard covered the song in 1987 as part of his European Tour "Always Guaranteed" The Beatles recorded "Money" in seven takes on July 18, 1963 with their usual lineup. A series of piano overdubs was later added by producer George Martin. The song was released in November 1963 as the final track on their second United Kingdom album, With the Beatles. According to George Harrison, the group discovered Strong's version in Brian Epstein's NEMS record store (though not a hit in the UK, it had been issued on London Records in 1960). They had previously performed it during their audition at Decca Records on January 1, 1962, with Pete Best still on drums at the time. They also recorded it six times for BBC radio. A live version, taped at a concert date in Stockholm, Sweden in October 1963, was included on Anthology 1. Their version features in the Only Fools and Horses episode "Mother Nature's Son." The song became a staple for other British Invasion bands, being released by The Searchers in August 1963, Freddie and the Dreamers also in 1963 and on The Rolling Stones' first U.K. EP in January, 1964. Barangaroo fire triggers Sydney CBD chaos Barangaroo fire brings smoke and gridlock to CBD A huge blaze at the Barangaroo construction site has shrouded Sydney in smoke, caused traffic chaos, and set fire to a 50-metre crane. One of the largest construction projects in Sydney could be set back months after a massive underground fire broke out at Barangaroo, closing major roads and forcing thousands of people to be evacuated from nearby buildings. The Western Distributor was finally reopened shortly after midnight on Thursday morning after engineers inspected the fire site and crane at Barangaroo and pronounced them safe. Photo: Nick Moir Despite earlier warnings from the Transport Management Centre that the road funnelling traffic onto the Harbour Bridge and into the city would be closed during Thursday morning's peak hour, it was reopened after the fire was largely extinguished. Advertisement The Western Distributor was reopened in both directions about 12.30am, and all major roads were open in the city on Thursday morning. Police said there would be some minor delays on Hickson Road and Sussex Street on Thursday, as the fire was still active and emergency vehicles need to access the site. Photo: James Brickwood ''Pedestrian access in the immediate area of the site will continue to be restricted until the fire is extinguished,'' police said. A Transport Management Centre spokesman said traffic on Wednesday night began easing around the Harbour Bridge about 7.30pm, and on the Anzac Bridge at about 8.30pm. ''The buses probably took a bit longer to recover, due to the fact that it took longer to head out and come back in so there was a knock-on effect,'' the spokesman said. - Fire breaks out: Smoke billows from the Barangaroo construction site on Wednesday afternoon. Photo: Brianne Makin "The road had been closed due to safety concerns over a crane affected by fire at the site," the TMC said in a statement. "The closure was expected to remain in place throughout Thursday morning, however engineers have now deemed the site to be safe, and the road has been reopened." A plume of acrid smoke blanketed the central business district on Wednesday, and firefighters worked through the night to extinguish the fire, thought to have been started by a welding accident. Office workers evacuate while a fire burns at Barangaroo. Office workers evacuate while a fire burns at Barangaroo. Photo: Janie Barrett Late on Wednesday night a team of two fire crews were finally able to access the basement at the centre of the fire. On Wednesday, citybound traffic was backed up past North Sydney and bus commuters faced 45 minute delays as the air pollution worsened. Childcare centres were forced into lockdown to avoid the smoke, but emergency authorities insisted there was no risk of airborne toxic particles despite a history of soil contamination at the site. Traffic banked up around the CBD due to the closure of the Western Distributor. Traffic banked up around the CBD due to the closure of the Western Distributor. Photo: Rob Homer By 11pm on Wednesday, the fire -- which WorkCover believed was caused by a welding accident about 2pm, then spread to two levels of formwork at the base of Tower 3 -- was still burning and had caused significant enough damage to a large crane sitting on a concrete slab above the basement to prompt fears it would topple. The union representing workers on the project, the CFMEU, warned that the blaze could delay construction on the residential and retail hub by ''months''. This claim was strenuously denied by Lend Lease, the project manager. ''It is too early to speculate what impacts, if any, there will be on the project,'' a Lend Lease spokeswoman said. The NSW secretary of the building union, Brian Parker, said it was likely work would stop at the southern end of Barangaroo for the remainder of the week. e. A man reads a digital device at Pyrmont as the Barangaroo site burns in the background. ''It wouldn't be unrealistic that it would go the rest of this week into the end of next week before there is any resumption of work,'' he said. ''It's certainly going to push back the project. This could push this back for months.'' Mr Parker said once the fire was extinguished, the crane would need to be safely removed, then the integrity of the timber, steel and concrete would need to be tested by engineers. Some would need to be removed and rebuilt, he said.- published: 12 Mar 2014
