The Boar's Nest is the local restaurant and tavern in the television series, The Dukes of Hazzard and the movie Moonrunners.
It is the oldest establishment in Hazzard County, and is owned by Boss Hogg. It is the main social gathering place for the Duke family—cousins Bo, Luke and Daisy, and their Uncle Jesse—and their friends and adversaries. Daisy is employed as a waitress at the business.
The establishment contains ample seating room for customers, a small kitchen and a bar. The main bar also contains a popcorn machine, a jukebox, a pinball machine, a pool table and pay telephone. There is also a small stage area, where plays, contests and performances by big-name country music stars perform, usually to settle trumped up traffic violations applied by Sheriff Rosco when they pass through his jurisdiction.
In the back of the restaurant is an office where Boss Hogg conducts many of his crooked business schemes. The basement has an escape tunnel, which was used in the days when the Hogg and Duke families were involved in moonshine running and were trying to elude the authorities.
The Dukes of Hazzard is an American television series that aired on the CBS television network from January 26, 1979 to February 8, 1985. The series was inspired by the 1975 film Moonrunners, which was also created by Gy Waldron and had many identical or similar character names and concepts.
The Dukes of Hazzard follows the adventures of "The Duke Boys," cousins Bo Duke (John Schneider) and Luke Duke (including Coy and Vance Duke for most of season 5) (Tom Wopat), who live on a family farm in fictional Hazzard County, Georgia, with their attractive female cousin Daisy (Catherine Bach) and their wise old Uncle Jesse (Denver Pyle). The Duke boys race around in their customized 1969 Dodge Charger stock car, dubbed (The) General Lee, evading crooked and corrupt county commissioner Boss Hogg (Sorrell Booke) and his bumbling and corrupt Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane (James Best) along with his deputy(s), and always managing to get caught in the middle of the various escapades and incidents that often occur in the area. Bo and Luke had previously been sentenced to probation for illegal transportation of moonshine; their Uncle Jesse made a plea bargain with the U.S. Government to refrain from distilling moonshine in exchange. As a result, Bo and Luke are on probation and not allowed to carry firearms — instead, they often use compound bows, sometimes with arrows tipped with dynamite — or to leave Hazzard County unless they get probation permission from their probation officer which is Boss Hogg, although the exact details of their probation terms vary from episode to episode. Sometimes it is implied that they would be jailed for merely crossing the county line; on other occasions, it is shown that they may leave Hazzard, as long as they are back within a certain time limit. Several other technicalities of their probation also came into play at various times.
A nest is a structure built by certain animals to hold its eggs, its offspring, or occasionally the animal itself. Although nests are most closely associated with birds, members of all classes of vertebrates and some invertebrates construct nests. They may be composed of organic material such as twigs, grass, and leaves, or may be a simple depression in the ground, or a hole in a rock, tree, or building. Human-made materials, such as string, plastic, cloth, or paper, may also be used. Nests can be found in all types of habitat.
Nest building is driven by a biological urge known as the nesting instinct in birds and mammals. Generally each species has a distinctive style of nest. Nest complexity is roughly correlated with the level of parental care by adults. Nest building is considered a key adaptive advantage among birds, and they exhibit the most variation in their nests ranging from simple holes in the ground to elaborate communal nests hosting hundreds of individuals. Nests of prairie dogs and several social insects can host millions of individuals.
The Dukes is an American animated series which ran on CBS in 1983, based directly on the live-action television series The Dukes of Hazzard. The show was produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, producer of the original series.
The show features the Duke boys and their cousin Daisy in an automobile race around the world against Boss Hogg, Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane, and Rosco's dog Flash in a duel for the prize money which the Dukes hope to use to keep the family farm from being foreclosed by Boss Hogg. Actually, Boss Hogg wants the money and the land for himself so he alongside Rosco and Flash plan various schemes to keep the Dukes from winning. Most of the adventures are read from a post card by Uncle Jesse Duke to his pet raccoon Smokey.
The first season took place during the period of the live-action show's replacement of the original actors with similar characters, Coy and Vance Duke, after the actors playing Bo and Luke walked out over a dispute about royalties. Thus, the first season of this animated series featured Coy and Vance. Bo and Luke eventually replaced Coy and Vance in Season 2 Episode 1 (14): "Boss O'Hogg and the Little People". This episode also featured a new introduction and voice over that reflected the change in characters.

I had originally intended to upload this following James Best's passing last April. But nonetheless, the video is here. This includes all General Lee jumps from the majority of Dukes episodes, from Season 1 through 7, all in chronological order from my personal Dukes of Hazzard collection, all 7 Seasons and both Reunion movies. And yes, included are the much hated miniature jumps used in Season 7. Also included are the jumps in The Dukes Of Hazzard: Reunion! (Even though it's just recycled footage from the show) and The Dukes Of Hazzard: Hazzard In Hollywood. Enjoy! Cast: Tom Wopat as Luke Duke (1979-1982; 1983-1985; Both Reunion movies; 1997-2000) John Schneider as Bo Duke (1979-1982; 1983-1985; Both Reunion movies; 1997-2000) Byron Cherry as Coy Duke (1982-1983) Christopher Mayer as Va...
Waylon Jennings and Friends A Tribute to Sue Brewer & The Boar's Nest starring Faron Young, George Jones, Harlan Howard, Kris Kristofferson, Little Jimmy Dickens, Merle Kilgore, Mickey Newbury, Roger Miller, Sue Brewer, Waylon Jennings, Webb Pierce, Willie Nelson Waylon Jennings hosts this amazing tribute to Sue Brewer, den mother to many of Nashville’s best singer/songwriters in the 1960s and ’70s. While her resume states that she managed George Jones‘ club, Possum Holler, and worked at Music City News, a now-defunct industry magazine, her claim to semi-fame was turning her apartment, “The Boar’s Nest,” into an open house for songwriters. In his autobiography, Waylon says, “The best music ever to come out of Nashville was written right on her floor.” It’s appropriate, then, that Willie,...

Here is a compilation of our day trip through Spearfish Canyon, to Boars Nest (for great food), through Deadwood and back to Sturgis. This ride through the Black Hills is absolutely amazing! My wonderful girlfriend was wearing the camera and did an excellent job capturing the beauty that is the hills. Mind you, what we experienced cannot be completely captured on video; the camera doesn't do it justice. Enjoy!

In the 1960's a single-mom named Sue Brewer, who managed George Jones's club “Possum Holler” and worked at the ''Music City News'' trade paper, made her home an after-hours clubhouse for aspiring (albeit mostly broke) musicians and songwriters including Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Roger Miller, Harlan Howard and Kris Kristofferson for nightly "guitar pulls" in her living room that she dubbed The Boar’s Nest. The truly broke among them could always find a place to sleep on her floor, which inspired Vince Matthews and Shel Silverstein to co-write "On Susan's Floor" in 1972 in her honor, a song that was recorded by Mac Wiseman (1972), Gordon Lightfoot (1972), and Hank Williams Jr. (1975), and is covered by Waylon in this show. Among the many other Boar’s Nest regulars were Faron Young,...
