The coordinates related to the equatorial plane can vary, it is not the same observation as to the ecliptic. Venus is great measure of the ecliptic. The emphemeris diagram shows you where the moon has traveled with respect to venus. The Moon's path actually does hug more closely to the ecliptic than to the celestial equator. Yes, the plane of the Moon's orbit is inclined by an average of 5.15° to the ecliptic. and yes, the celestial equator is inclined by 23.44° to the ecliptic. The nodes (points at which the Moon's path and the ecliptic intersect) retrogress through the ecliptic with a period of 18.6 years. In 2006 the inclination of the Moon's orbit relative to the equator was at a maximum of nearly 29°. In 2015 it should reach a minimum of about 18°. So, in case someone tries to talk over your head the fact of the matter is that the moon should never be more than 5 degrees off of the ecliptic. Venus is great indicator in this regard. If the moon is 30 degrees away from venus.... there is a problem. But you must measure them at the same points on the horizon to be more accurate. On Thursday is was 30 degrees south. That's the bottom line. We need to scream loud and long about this. Polaris is not wobbling. The Earth is not tilting. It may be further south in its orbit and we are working on that issue as we speak. No literature exists saying that the moons orbit changes in incline by this much. That just has never happened. The rocket's four boosters are jettisoned 118 seconds after launch, and the spacecraft fairing is jettisoned after 220 seconds. Following two burns, the Fregat upper stage separates from Gaia 42 minutes after launch. The separation activates an automatic sequence onboard Gaia, including switching on the spacecraft's transmitters, pressurisation of the propulsion system, initial attitude acquisition and deployment of the sunshield. By then Gaia will be on its transfer orbit from Earth towards L2, a virtual point in space some 1.5 million kilometres 'behind' Earth as seen from the Sun. Gaia will take about a month to cruise and manoeuvre into a 'Lissajous' orbit around L2. The size of the orbit is typically 340 000 x 90 000 km and takes 180 days. There, Gaia will spin slowly in order to make systematic repeated observations of stars covering the whole sky with its two telescopes. Hillbilly Tracking of Low Earth Orbit Repurposing an Inmarsat Dish Satellites in Low Earth Orbit have tons of nifty signals, but they move quickly though the sky and are difficult to track with fine accuracy. This lecture describes a remotely operable satellite tracking system that the author built from a Navy-surplus Inmarsat dish in Southern Appalachia. The entire system is controlled through a Postgres database, fed by various daemons spread across multiple machines. So when I click on a satellite on my laptop or cellphone, it runs "UPDATE target SET name='Voyager 1';" and the motor daemon then begins to track the new target while the prediction daemon maintains accurate estimates of its position in the sky. Additional daemons take spectral prints or software-defined radio recordings of the targeted object for later review. A very nice feature. - A lot of nice safety features to ensure the seat is installed correctly - Comfortable, eco-friendly fabric that removes and cleans easily - Easy and compact fold THE NOT-SO-GOOD - Infant-to-toddler seat sold separately - this means that you have to either change strollers or buy another seat when your baby grows out of the infant seat - The stroller isn't as smooth as it could be - Cost - already pricey system gets pricier as baby grows - you can either get the infant-to-toddler seat or the toddler car seat G2 when that happens. The infant-to-toddler seat will not act as a carseat in your vehicle - it just stays on the stroller.
