Philip James Woolas (born 11 December 1959) was a British Labour Party politician who was the Member of Parliament (MP) for Oldham East and Saddleworth from his election in 1997 to 2010. He was the Minister of State for Borders and Immigration in the Home Office, as well as being the Minister of State for the Treasury. On 5 November 2010, he was found to have breached the Representation of the People Act 1983 in the course of the 2010 general election. As a result his victory at the 2010 general election campaign was declared void, he lost his seat in the House of Commons, and was barred from standing again for 3 years.Harriet Harman, Deputy Leader of the Labour Party, announced that Woolas was also suspended from the Labour Party.

Woolas was born in Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire, on 11 December 1959. He went to Nelson Grammar School on Oxford Road in Nelson, Lancashire, which became Walton (Lane) High School when the local education authority (LEA) went comprehensive in 1972. The school is now Pendle Vale College since 2006 when the former buildings were demolished and re-developed for housing. After O levels, he went to Nelson and Colne College. He received a BA in Philosophy from the Victoria University of Manchester.

Joanna Lamond Lumley, OBE, FRGS (born 1 May 1946) is a British actress, voice-over artist, former-model and author, best known for her roles in British television series Absolutely Fabulous portraying Edina Monsoon's best friend, Patsy Stone, as well as parts in The New Avengers, Sapphire & Steel, and Sensitive Skin. Her distinctive voice has been supplied for animated characters, film narration, and AOL's "You have email" notification in the UK. She has spoken out as a human rights activist for Survival International and the Gurkha Justice Campaign, and is now considered a "national treasure" of Nepal because of her support. She is an advocate for a number of charities and animal welfare groups such as CIWF and Viva! She has won three BAFTA awards and a British Comedy Award.

Joanna Lamond Lumley was born on 1 May 1946 in Srinagar, in the princely state of Kashmir and Jammu, which was then part of British India. Her parents were Major James Rutherford Lumley, who served in the 6th Gurkha Rifles, a regiment of the British Indian Army, and Beatrice Rose Weir. They married in 1941. After the independence of India in 1947, the Lumleys relocated back to their home country of England^{[citation needed]}; county Kent. The family also spent time in Malaya (now Malaysia). Lumley was educated at St Mary's Convent School in St Leonards-on-Sea, East Sussex, England, and afterwards attended the Lucie Clayton finishing school, after being turned down by the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art at the age of 16.

Sally Bercow (née Illman; born 22 November 1969) is the wife of the Speaker of the House of Commons, John Bercow. She was a housemate on Celebrity Big Brother 2011 and was evicted from the house on 26 August 2011.

Sally Illman attended Marlborough College public school, as a contemporary of the British Prime Minister's wife, Samantha Cameron, and went on to attend Keble College, Oxford, dropping out after two years. The fact that Bercow did not finish her studies at Oxford became a minor controversy in 2009 when it was revealed that she had been sacked from a City public relations firm for trying to conceal this on her CV.

She was the social secretary of the Oxford University Conservative Association (OUCA) while at the University. It was subsequently reported in the Daily Mail that during her time with OUCA, she was involved in a social event for which OUCA booked strippers. She met her future husband at a national Conservative Students Conference.

In a 2009 interview Bercow spoke about alcoholism and one-night stands in her twenties.
