Bob Gansler (born July 1, 1941 in Mucsi, Hungary) is a Hungarian-born American soccer player and coach of German descent. He coached the US National Team at the 1990 World Cup, the team's first appearance at the tournament since 1950.

Gansler spent the 2007 MLS Season in Canada as an assistant coach for Toronto FC. He left the team after their successful first season to spend more time with his wife, Nancy, four sons, and six grandchildren. Previously, Gansler coached the Kansas City Wizards, winning the club's first MLS Cup in 2000 and the US Open Cup in 2004. He also coached the Milwaukee Rampage to the A-League title in 1997. He stepped down from his coaching position with the Wizards on July 19, 2006.

As a player, Gansler made 25 appearances for the United States between 1963 and 1969, captaining the 1964 and 1968 Olympic and 1967 Pan American Teams. Of his 25 appearances, only 5, all in 1968, came in games considered full internationals.

Gansler played for the Chicago Spurs of the National Professional Soccer League in 1967. When the NPSL merged with the United Soccer Association to form the North American Soccer League, the Spurs likewise merged with the Chicago Mustangs, and Gansler played with the Mustangs of the NASL in 1968.

Paul David Caligiuri (born March 9, 1964 in Westminster, California) is a retired American soccer player.

Caliguiri's professional career spanned 16 years, during which he played for numerous teams in the United States and Germany, and for the U.S. national team. During his 14 years as a defender and defensive midfielder with the national team, he earned 110 caps and scored five goals.

Caligiuri is best remembered for his game-winning goal widely dubbed the "Shot heard round the world," which he scored in a 1–0 World Cup qualifier victory over Trinidad and Tobago on November 19, 1989. The victory qualified the United States for the 1990 FIFA World Cup in Italy, its first World Cup berth since 1950. There Caligiuri notched the first World Cup goal for the U.S. national team in 40 years, scoring in a 5–1 defeat against Czechoslovakia. He is a member of the National Soccer Hall of Fame.

After graduating from Walnut High School, Caligiuri attended UCLA from 1982 to 1985. During his four seasons with the Bruins, he was twice named an NCAA All-American. He also captained the Bruins to an NCAA Championship his junior year.

David Charles "Dino" Vanole (February 6, 1963 - January 15, 2007) was an American soccer goalkeeper and coach. He spent his professional career in the Western Soccer Alliance and its successor league, the American Professional Soccer League. He also earned 14 caps with the U.S. national team including appearances at the 1988 Summer Olympics and was a squad member at the 1990 FIFA World Cup.

He attended Aviation High School in Redondo Beach, California where he was a three-sport letterman and a four-time All-Ocean League goalkeeper. Vanole played for UCLA from 1981 to 1985. As a junior, he backstopped UCLA to the NCAA Men's Soccer Championship. In that game, UCLA defeated American University in eight overtimes.

After graduating from UCLA, Vanole played for the Los Angeles Heat from 1986 to 1990. In 1988, he also played for the San Jose Earthquakes. He played for the Wichita Wings during the 1987-1988 Major Indoor Soccer League season. In 1991, he finished his professional career with the San Francisco Bay Blackhawks which won the American Professional Soccer League championship that season.

Douglas F. "Doug" Gansler (born October 30, 1962) is a Maryland politician and Attorney General of Maryland. Gansler won the Democratic nomination in the primary election on September 12, 2006 and beat Republican Scott Rolle in the general election on November 7, 2006 with 61.0%. He was re-elected unopposed in the 2010 election, winning 98.18%.

Gansler spent some of his early years in New Jersey before moving to the Washington area in the mid-1970s.

Gansler attended Chevy Chase Elementary School, and then Sidwell Friends School, a Quaker school in Washington, D.C. in grades 6-12. From Sidwell Friends, Gansler went on to Yale University, where he was an All-Ivy, All–New England lacrosse player, nurtured an interest in elective politics and graduated cum laude.

Gansler earned a law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law. He was a law clerk to Hon. John F. McAuliffe, Judge on the Maryland Court of Appeals.

As an Assistant U.S. Attorney (1992–1998) in the District of Maryland he prosecuted, among others, the Georgian diplomat who killed a young woman while driving drunk near Dupont Circle. He worked as a real estate lawyer at a title company and at the law firms of Coburn & Schertler and Howrey & Simon. He was elected State's Attorney for Montgomery County, Maryland, serving January 1999–January 2, 2007. While State's Attorney, he prosecuted several high-profile cases including the Beltway snipers, John Muhammad and Lee Boyd Malvo. During this time the Maryland Court of Appeals sanctioned him for impermissible public statements about a possible confession and possible plea in a high-profile case. He was the first elected State's Attorney to be sanctioned by the court.

Jolene Ivey is an American politician who represents the 47th Legislative District in the Maryland House of Delegates.

Delegate Ivey was born of mixed parents but raised by her African American father and stepmother in Washington, D.C. [] She attended LaSalle Elementary School and the Bertie Backus Jr. High in northeast D.C. She graduated High Point High School and then Towson University with a B.A. in mass communication in 1982. She got her masters degree in journalism from the University of Maryland in 1992. She later used her degrees to earn a job as Co-Host of "Say Baltimore," at WMAR-TV in 1983. She was a writer and producer for WMAR from 1984 to 1988. In 1988, she served as then-Congressman Benjamin Cardin's press secretary. She is a freelance writer and the director of Media Relations for the Community Teachers Institute. Ivey is married to Prince Georges County State's Attorney Glenn F. Ivey and the couple has five children. Although name recognition may have played a part in her initial election (Ivey's husband is a well known political figure in Prince George's County), her endorsement by The Washington Post and The Gazette, as well as a strong grassroots campaign were other factors in her win over incumbent Rosetta Parker.
