To any of you who may wonder about me being a safe distance away from the truck or being where the crew can always see me, I am always at a safe distance away from the truck at all times and I always make sure the crew can see me, and of course I wear my City of Milwaukee safety vest when ever I film a City of Milwaukee garbage, recycle or leaf collection truck.
A big shout out to the leaf crew of City of Milwaukee
Leaf Packer 32501 and Leaf
Pusher 50237 for allowing my friend and I to film/follow!
Leaf
Collection... City of Milwaukee
Style!!
Whoa where do I start off??
So Wis
Trash and I had off from school 11/2 so we decided to look for leaf collection before going to a garbage collection, the area we looked in we had no luck what so ever, so we go to the 1-5 yellow day to find an awesome crew (video will be up in a later date). We follow them till their break, we are on a main road, my buddy sees a leaf truck pass so he tracks it down and its about a mile away from where we ended. So I call my buddy up and ask him if there is any luck, and there was!! So I meet up with him already by the crew (You may remember the driver of 32501, he is the driver from my past videos of 32467, real cool guy and very chill) We start filming and this was the end result... I am very pleased with how everything worked out on the second, even if we haven't had found this crew, we still would have been happy. I know that we have wanted to get the leaf collection process from
Milwaukee documented for a while now. Boy what a way to spend your day off.
Milwaukee has a number of different trucks that push the leafs into the truck and a number of different trucks that pack the leafs. Milwaukee uses these little but very loud and strong Trackless MT
Series V to push the leafs into the truck while Milwaukee has street sweepers/ plow trucks (both vehicles are equipped with this type of pusher but
I believe they are a bit bigger that these pushers) get leafs into big big piles on a street instead of having to hit each little pile. Milwaukee also go a new style pusher, they changed the color to red and black, which
IMO looks really good, and they are not as lout as the Trackless, I believe these new pushers are made by a different
MFG but the new pushers and the old pushers look very alike so its possible that they could be a different series.
Milwaukee has a different number of leaf packers. The leaf packers are equipped a kick bar that hold up the ramp when the truck is in motion and it is obviously able to come down using the tipper lever to raise and lower it. If you notice, the flippers and that extra lip that the flippers attach to are taken off and the ramp is put in place at I believe the central garage. Its the same for the
Mack LEU613 Heil PowerTraks,
CCC LET2 Heil PowerTraks, Mack LE613 McNeilus', CCC LET2
Leach 2rllls and CCC LET2 Leach 2rlls. Gotta love Milwaukee!!
Well that's about it, thanks for reading and thanks for watching!
Hope you enjoy the video as much as I did filming it!
