Aegrotat (English: he or she is sick), pronounced eegrohtat, is a medical certificate of illness excusing student's sickness. The term is used primarily in the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth, in the context of degrees and courses considered as passed by a student too ill to finish the appropriate material. Aegrotat is the only surviving remnant in English of the Latin verb aegrotare(English: fall ill, make ill), although English retains the form of the French descendant aigre (sick) in words such as "vinegar" (from vin aigre, "sick wine") and "alegar" (a back-formation substituting "ale" for the root meaning "wine").

Ray Morris was an Australian rugby league footballer of the 1920s and 30s. A New South Wales representative three-quarter back, he played club football in the NSWRFL Premiership for Western Suburbs from 1927 to 1932. During this time he helped Wests to victory the 1930 competition's final, scoring a try, and also played in the 1932 season's final.

Morris moved to the Sydney University team for the 1933 season and following strong performances for New South Wales against Queensland, became the club's first player to be selected for the Kangaroos squad when he embarked on the 1933-34 Kangaroo tour. Whilst en route by ship to London, Morris developed an ear infection and disembarked in Malta for medical attention. There he died from complications after surgery.

The "Ray Morris Medal", which is awarded by the Malta Rugby League to the Maltese player of the year has been named in Moriss' honour since 2008.
