Sue Wong (born April 1949) is a Chinese-born American fashion designer best known for her dress designs with a contemporary twist based on old Hollywood glamor style. Her collections, available in some 27 countries, have been noted for her interpretations of the traditions of couture dressmaking of romantic eras such as Weimar Berlin, 1930s Shanghai, pre-code Hollywood, and Manhattan’s gilded Jazz Age. She owns Sue Wong Studio S, based in Los Angeles, Cal.
Sue Wong was born in a remote countryside of southern China in April 1949. At age five, her mother bribed a border guard with her wedding jewels to allow their escape from Communist China into Hong Kong. A year later, they reached Los Angeles, where they united with Wong's father who had moved to the United States from China before she was born.
When she was nine years old, Wong made her first blouse with her mom's Singer sewing machine from a scrap of fabric and some lace. A few years later, in junior high and high school, she insisted on designing and sewing herself a new dress for each weekly dance of the school year. Her senior prom dress was her own creation as well, adorned with beads handsewn into the bodice.
St. Vincent de Paul (24 April 1581 – 27 September 1660) was a French Roman Catholic priest who dedicated himself to serving the poor. He is venerated as a saint in the Catholic Church and the Anglican Communion. He was canonized in 1737. He was renowned for his compassion, humility, and generosity and is known as the "Great Apostle of Charity".
Vincent was born in 1581 in the village of Pouy in Gascony, in the Province of Guyenne and Gascony, the Kingdom of France, to peasant farmers, father Jean and mother Bertrande de Moras de Paul. There was in the vicinity, a stream named the "Paul" and it is believed that this might have been the derivation of the family name. He wrote the name as one word – Depaul, possibly to avoid the inference that he was of noble birth, but none of his correspondents did so. He had three brothers – Jean, Bernard and Gayon, and two sisters – Marie and Marie-Claudine. He was the third child. At an early age, he showed a talent for reading and writing but during his childhood, his work was as a herder of his family's livestock. At 15, his father sent him to seminary, managing to pay for it by selling the family’s oxen.

Kern Konwiser, writer, director, and producer of award-wining theatrical films, documentaries, cable and network movies, has collaborated with industry's most influential pioneers. In 2008, he joined forces with GigaPix Studios, a partnership that yielded the documentary, Baker Boys: Inside the Surge. Cinematographer Jon Steel, who for 25 years covered nearly every major conflict, went into the heart of an Al Qaeda hotbed outside of Baghdad to chronicle the last 90 days of Baker Company's (U.S. Army, 3rd Infantry battalion) tour of duty, producing 120 hours of footage. Kern and his brother, Kip, assembled and edited the story of the "war inside" that the Baker Boys will inevitably bring home, capturing conversations so deeply personal they seem more like confessionals than interviews.
