Customer Reviews

Another update - Another failure! Zero stars

Actually this app deserves minus stars - even no stars is too good. I have emailed the HeraldSun several times and even had a phone call from a consultant who said they were working on a new app that would solve all problems. I asked why they didn't dump it and start again, or even adopt the Courier Mail app, which is near faultless. The answer was they had invested too much in it.

The new app solves none of the old problems and presents the same rubbish. You can't read cartoons, ads or even some text and can't zoom without tapping first - which surprise surprise only works sometimes.

The HeraldSun needs to ditch this app and go back three upgrades until they can hire the correct I.T people to fix this shambles. They say they read the reviews and are concerned, but judging on past performance the really do not care about customers or performance. If every dissatisfied reader cancelled their subscription perhaps the $$$ would talk.

Absolute garbage

Major day in Australian politics and as usual paper won't download properly. I have been stuffing around on and off for nearly two hours and still can only get 21% of the paper I pay for. Turn Ipad on and off repeatedly, try and update paper, tell it not to update, tried every possible option but still no luck. I have been paying for this frustration for a year but no more. When will the people responsible for this disaster take notice of their reviews and fix this? Have given it one star because I have no choice, it doesn't deserve even one.

Good when it works

Generally a good app but often when reading content, app bombs out to the iPad home screen. However, after clicking on the app to access it again, you're unable to access any content at all as you're greeted by a "Loading" screen that progresses no further. Exiting and re accessing the app doesn't work and nor does shutting down and restarting the iPad. Ditto deleting the app from memory. Uninstalling and reinstalling the app does work but this is not a workable solution. Very frustrating! I cancelled my digital subscription. Hopefully a stable new app coming soon.
