iPad & iPhone NFC reader scans RFID tag data into any website
Looking for the best NFC RFID reader/scanner for iPad? This video demonstrates using a 13.56MHz, high frequency RFID reader called the IDChamp and a WiSnap AAA WiFi Dongle from Serialio.com read/scan high frequencyRFID tags, also known as Near-Field-Communication (NFC) tags, into the iPad. The WiSnap has been connected to the same enterprise network that the iPad is, so all we have to do is launch the List-In-Hand® Mobile List app which gives us connectivity to the WiSnap, and the settings are done here to tell Mobile List the wifi RS-232 device connected it a WiSnap RS-232 to Wi-Fi converter with the IDChamp RFID reader on the other end. You simply hit connect and the WiSnap connects to the iPad. Now that the two are connected, the Mobile List app allows scanning information and posting directly a web page as if the data was typed by simply moving the NFC tag near the RFID reader. Simply hold the tag on the reader and you can get the RFID tag data read into the web page. But you don't want to use Restock.com you say, so you can use the Go to page feature and go to another website. When you're on the other website, the Mobile List app gives you the same functionality, you can simply scan and the information is put on the website. Here it's a bit meaningless because Yahoo! doesn't know anything about these tags, but you can point this to your own website with your own database that knows about these tags and simply scan the tags and up comes the information. Collect Data to iPad and iOS Devices via Ad-Hoc using WiSnap Wifi RS-232 Serial Module
This video demonstrates how to use the Wisnap Setup Plus app to connect a WiSnap in Ad-Hoc mode and collect data from a serial device on the iPad. Open WiFi Settings so you can view the WiSnap ad hoc network when active. Turn on the WiSnap and the Ad-Hoc network will show up after a few seconds. Once the network appears tap on it to select it as the active WiFi connection. NOTE: iOS takes about 30 seconds to fully connect to an ad-hoc network and just because the check shows next to the Ad-Hoc network name this does not mean that the iPad is connected to the network. Making an enterprise network connection to the iPad is much faster than an Ad-hoc connection. You will know the network is fully connected when you see the WiFi icon displayed in the iPad status bar at the top. Once the icon appears, launch WiSnap Setup Plus app and tap WiSnap Module connection type to connect to the WiSnap. In this example we are using a LaserChamp II scanner with a Serial Cable Connection to the WiSnap to collect barcode scanner data to the iPad. As scans are made the data should immediately show up in WiSnap Setup Plus app. You can connect virtually any RS-232 serial device and collect serial data to your iOS device using WiSnap Setup and other apps from Serialio.com For more information please visit serialio.com or contact us at (805) 964-8883

3rd Party Printing Apps for iOS Devices: Printer Pro vs. Print n Share
In this episode of WohoTech, I put two 3rd party printing apps for iOS devices (iPhone, iPod, and iPad) on a head-to-head printing battle. I go over how these apps compete printing copied text, web pages in Safari, email from the Mail app, photos, documents, and more! I demonstrate how both of these apps work so you can make a decision of which app you would like to buy. Keep in mind, both of these apps work with USB printers, as well, through the Printer Pro for Desktop program (for Printer Pro) and WePrint program (for Print n Share). These 2 programs install on your computer to allow printing to USB printers plugged into your computer. Print n Share: $8.99 from Apple App Store (Universal application) Printer Pro: $4.99 for iPhone, $6.99 for iPad (Not a universal application) Go to www.wohotech.com to stay updated on the latest technology news and reviews. TraxItAll has been selected as one of "the Top 10 Psychology Apps" for the iPhone on ThePsychFiles.com, based on its effectiveness as a motivational and goal-setting tool: "A really cool goal-setting app....What I like about this program is the key to goal setting is being specific....No magic to this other than that it keeps track of what you said you were going to do and gives you feedback, because that's the other thing you need. How to share calendars & reminders with 2 or more iOS devices with iCloud
This is how you setup your iOS devices to share calendars and reminders. How to share a Calendar and Reminders list with 2 or more iOS devices while still having your own iTunes/Apple ID. In this video, there are a total of 3 Apple ID's being used. I have one for my iPhone and then my wife has one for her iPhone and then I created a 3rd Apple ID that we "share" on the 2 iPhones to give us the ability to do what I show in the video. I still have the option to put things in my calendars and reminders without sharing it. For the 3rd Apple ID that you want to share, follow the directions below to set it up. Step 1. Create an additional email address in Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail, etc. Step 2. Go to "appleid.apple.com" Click on "Create Apple ID" and register the new email that you just created as an Apple ID. Step 3. Once the new Apple ID has been created, on the iPhone go to Settings Mail, Contacts, Calendars Add Account... iCloud Then type in the new Apple ID that you created. Step 4. Hit "Next" Step 5. Select the items that you want to share between the devices. *I would only recommend sharing the CALENDARS and the REMINDERS. If you choose the others it can add a bunch of stuff that you may not want like contacts and notes. Step 6. Follow steps 3, 4, and 5 on the other devices and enter the same Apple ID that you just created. Enjoy!

Matias One Keyboard with Bluetooth link for iOS devices for Mac/PC
The Matias One is a desktop USB keyboard with built-in Bluetooth functionality. The wireless feature allows the keyboard to pair with a mobile device for text input. The keyboard also offers a small rubber holder to position an iPhone or other smartphone right on the keyboard. The idea here is while working you can do text input to your iPhone by pressing the iPhone button, which then disables keyboard input into the computer. When pressed again, the keyboard goes back into computer mode. A pretty cool idea where essentially you can integrate your iPhone into your workflow without having to pick it up. The keyboard also features a USB 2.0 hub, Mac-specific key layout, and special character labels. The key switch design is rubber dome switches, which are quiet but still responsive. Matias is also working on Tactile Pro mechanical version, plus a smaller Slim model. The One Keyboard has a list price of $99.95, and available in either Mac or PC layouts. www.matias.ca About: Video by Mike Flaminio of Insanely Great Mac. iOS 5 on iPhone 4 (Auto Correct Options)
johnkeller101.com Notification Center All your alerts. All in one place. You get all kinds of notifications on your iOS device new email, texts, friend requests, and more. With Notification Center, you can keep track of them all in one convenient location. Just swipe down from the top of any screen to enter Notification Center. Choose which notifications you want to see. Even see a stock ticker and the current weather. New notifications appear briefly at the top of your screen, without interrupting what you're doing. And the Lock screen displays notifications so you can act on them with just a swipe. Notification Center is the best way to stay on top of your life's breaking news. Reminders A better way to do to-dos. Next time you think to yourself, "Don't forget to...," just pull out your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch and jot it down. Reminders lets you organize your life in to-do lists — complete with due dates and locations. Say you need to remember to pick up milk during your next grocery trip. Since Reminders can be location based, you'll get an alert as soon as you pull into the supermarket parking lot. Reminders also works with iCal, Outlook, and iCloud, so changes you make update automatically on all your devices and calendars. Twitter Integrated right into iOS 5. iOS 5 makes it even easier to tweet from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Sign in once in Settings, and suddenly you can tweet directly from Safari, Photos, Camera, YouTube, or Maps. Want to mention or <b>...</b>

Apple WWDC 2011 Scott Forstall Presentation on iOS 5 6/6/2011
Go to www.technomicon.com for our complete WWDC article. This is Scott's discussion of upcoming features in iOS 5.0. Push notifications will be much improved with a notification center that allows accessing notifications at any time. Also, in keeping with Apple's iCloud service, iOS devices can now operate "PC Free" requiring no host computer (PC or Mac) to initiate service, back up iTunes purchases, or receive iOS updates. For many people, iPad or iPhone will be the only computer they need. Not making the top ten, but high on my personal list is Airplay video mirroring, something I've been predicting for some time.

GTA 3: Anniversary Edition Gameplay iPad 2
Subscribe if you want to see more videos :) I take a quick look at the Grand Theft Auto 3: Anniversary Edition released not long ago on the 15th of December for iOS and Android devices. List of supported devices: Apple iOS devices: iPad 1 and 2, iPhone 4 and 4S, fourth-gen iPod Touch Android phones: HTC Rezound, LG Optimus 2x, Motorola Atrix 4G, Motorola Droid X2, Motorola Photon 4G, Samsung Galaxy R, T-Mobile G2x Android tablets: Acer Iconia, Asus Eee Pad Transformer, Dell Streak 7, LG Optimus Pad, Motorola Xoom, Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 and 10.1, Sony Tablet S, Toshiba Thrive This is just a quick demonstration showing how the touch screen controls work and how similar the game looks to the original so that you can decide whether to buy it or not. I noticed that the graphics have been improved over the original and it runs fairly smoothly on the iPad 2. I also noticed that on a clear day the game is a lot brighter than on the original making it seem nicer. Other than the weather, the controls and the graphics this game is almost identical to the original. Sorry about the poor playing, I haven't gotten used to the controls yet as I had only played the game for about 10 minutes before making this video. Download size: 462mb.

Converting a Flex app from Android to iOS
Blogged at gregsramblings.com A few weeks ago, one of our Flex QA engineers, Shashwati Keith, built a mobile app in Flex and deployed it to the Android Marketplace. The app is Muni Tracker. Muni Tracker lets you track San Francisco Muni vehicle arrival time predictions on a map updating live every 10 seconds. Since Shashwati built this app, internal builds of Flash Builder can now target iOS devices (iPad, iPhone, etc.). Because Shashwati is super busy getting the upcoming release of Flex 4.5 and Flash Builder ready for the world, I volunteered to take her Flex project and attempt to get the app running on my iOS devices and video the entire conversion. It actually turned out to be almost too easy! Basically, I set up the Apple cert and provisioning profile, made a couple of minor tweaks to the app config XML, and got it to work without touching a single line of Flex code. The 12 minute video is below. The total conversion time from importing the Flex project and demonstrating the app running on my iPad 2 was less than 10 minutes! Without my commentary, I can do it in 6 minutes (1 minutes for import/modifications, 5 minutes for iOS packaging and deploy). Find out more at gregsramblings.com
