Road Bike Party 2 - Martyn Ashton
Road Bike Party 2 is here! Martyn Ashton and two very special guests take you on a new journey with a new bike in RBP 2. Follow GCN on YouTube: http://gcn.eu/gcnsubs Incredible stunts and amazing tricks all completed on a £15,000 Colnago C59 Italia? It can only be a Road Bike Party! Lycra-clad trials legend Martyn Ashton's first Road Bike Party was a YouTube sensation, so a sequel HAD to be made, bigger and better than before! Martyn was in the middle of filming when his life was transformed by an accident during a trials display which has left him paralysed from the waist down. Courage, determination and great friends have helped Martyn to complete his vision for what a Road Bike Party is. Road Bike Party 2 features special guest appearances from two trials riding and YouTube legends, and music from Catfish and the Bottlemen with "Rango" (http://gcn.eu/1gVfrB5) and Capella. In the words of Mr Ashton, "Party on"! No bikes were harmed in the making of this film. Top 10 Cycling Fashion Disasters
It will surprise nobody that cycling has had it's fair share of fashion disasters. Here are GCN's Top 10. Follow GCN on YouTube: http://gcn.eu/gcnsubs From 80's haircuts persisting well into the noughties, to frankly awful lycra and questionable facial hair, cycling has had several notable fashion disasters. Narrowing it down to a 'top' ten was tough, but we've picked ten who really stand-out. Did you know that Chris Horner used to have a beard? You might wish you never found out. We've all seen yellow shorts to match the Maillot Jaune, but is the recent trend of polka-dot shorts taking it too far? We think so. What about haircuts? There are some that we'd rather forget, like Vladimir Karpet's flowing locks. We're sure that we've missed a few, in fact, you may think that some of our suggestions are not in fact fashion disasters, but rather fashion success... So, let us know if we got it right and add any (dis)honourable mentions to the comments section below. The Angliru - The Hardest Climb In Professional Cycling?
The Angliru is one of the most feared and legendary climbs in cycling. Subscribe to GCN on YouTube: http://gcn.eu/gcnsubs GCN spent a day on the Angliru at the 2013 Vuelta. We spoke to the riders beforehand and later watched as Chris Horner put on a dominant display to take 2nd on the stage and ensure his overall victory. The Angliru is so legendary that all the riders had taken special precautions ahead of the stage. Some had fitted 32 tooth cassettes to deal with the 23.5% gradient. First used in 1999, the Angliru has seen many great battles, from the late Jose Maria Jimenez dedicating his win to Marco Pantani to Roberto Heras riding up 1 minute 10 seconds faster than anyone has managed since, the Angliru has cemented it's place in cycling history and will continue to be a key battleground in professional cycling for years to come.
