Alistair Murdoch "Ally" McCoist, MBE (/məˈkɔɪst/); 24 September 1962) is a Scottish football manager and former player. He is the manager of Rangers in Scotland.

McCoist began his career with St Johnstone before moving to Sunderland in 1981. He returned to Scotland two years later and signed with Rangers. At Rangers, McCoist became the club's record goalscorer, netting 355 goals. In addition to this McCoist holds the Rangers records for number of league goals scored, number of Scottish League Cup goals scored and the most goals scored by a player in European competitions with 251, 54 and 21 respectively. McCoist is also third in the all-time appearance table for Rangers, having made 581 appearances for the club.

He is second in the Scottish top tier league's all time leading goalscorer having netted 282 times for St. Johnstone, Rangers and Kilmarnock between 1979 and 2001.

Largely thanks to his career at Rangers, McCoist was inducted into the Scottish Sports Hall of Fame in 2007. He is also a member of the Scotland Football Hall of Fame, having gained 61 international caps.

Walter Smith, OBE (born 24 February 1948) is a Scottish football former manager. His most recent job was at Scottish Premier League club Rangers.

Smith had a relatively modest playing career, consisting of two spells with Dundee United which was split by a short time at Dumbarton.

A pelvic injury meant he moved in to coaching at Dundee United under Jim McLean and he also took charge of Scotland's under-18 and under-21 teams. Smith was also assistant to Sir Alex Ferguson at the 1986 FIFA World Cup in Mexico after it had been announced that he would be moving to Rangers as assistant to Graeme Souness.

In 1991 Smith became the manager of Rangers, he won 21 major honours in two spells at the club, including ten league titles, and guiding the team to the UEFA Cup final in 2008. Smith is the second most successful manager in the history of Rangers behind Bill Struth. In 1998 he left Rangers and managed Premier League club Everton for four seasons, but was sacked in 2002. Smith was later appointed Scotland manager in 2004 after a brief stint as assistant manager to Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United. He presided over a revival in the national team's fortunes, taking Scotland seventy places up the FIFA World Rankings, before returning to Rangers in 2007. He won eight of his trophies with the club during this time, before leaving in 2011.

Gordon James Ramsay, OBE (born 8 November 1966) is a British chef, television personality and restaurateur. He has been awarded 13 Michelin stars in total and currently holds 12.

Ramsay is known for presenting TV programmes about competitive cookery and food, such as the British series Hell's Kitchen, The F Word, Ramsay's Best Restaurant, and Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares, along with the American versions of Hell's Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares, and MasterChef.

Gordon Ramsay was born in Johnstone, Renfrewshire, Scotland, and raised in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, England from the age of 5. Ramsay is the second of four children; he has an older sister, Diane, a younger brother, Ronnie, and a younger sister, Yvonne. Ramsay's father Gordon (died 1997) was, at various times, a swimming pool manager, a welder, and a shopkeeper; his mother, Helen Cosgrove, and Yvonne have been nurses. Ramsay has described his early life as "hopelessly itinerant", as his family moved constantly due to the aspirations and failures of his father, who was violent. In 1976, they finally settled in Stratford-upon-Avon where he grew up in the Bishopton area of the town. In past public interviews, Ramsay has declined to describe his father as an alcoholic; however, his autobiography, Humble Pie, describes his early life as being marked by abuse and neglect from this "hard-drinking womaniser". At the age of 16, Ramsay moved out of the family house into a flat in Banbury.

"The Man" is a slang phrase that may refer to the government or to some other authority in a position of power. In addition to this derogatory connotation, it may also serve as a term of respect and praise.

The phrase "the Man is keeping me down" is commonly used to describe oppression. The phrase "stick it to the Man" encourages resistance to authority, and essentially means "fight back" or "resist", either openly or via sabotage.

The earliest recorded use^{[citation needed]} of the term "the Man" in the American sense dates back to a letter written by a young Alexander Hamilton in September 1772, when he was 15. In a letter to his father James Hamilton, published in the Royal Dutch-American Gazette, he described the response of the Dutch governor of St. Croix to a hurricane that raked that island on August 31, 1772. "Our General has issued several very salutary and humane regulations and both in his publick and private measures, has shewn himself the Man." ^{[dubious – discuss]} In the Southern U.S. states, the phrase came to be applied to any man or any group in a position of authority, or to authority in the abstract. From about the 1950s the phrase was also an underworld code word for police, the warden of a prison or other law enforcement or penal authorities.

Gerry McCulloch is a Scottish television presenter, sports reporter and football commentator.

McCulloch is a former BBC Scotland, Setanta and STV journalist and television presenter.

While at STV, McCulloch presented The Live Hogmanay Show, and was a roving reporter for the Scottish kids magazine show Skoosh and the lifestyle magazine programme The Five Thirty Show. He was best known, however, for working as a sports news presenter on the Central Scotland edition of STV News at Six and, from March 2010, presenting the sports magazine show Sports Centre: Friday Night Football alongside Sheelagh McLaren. He also fronted STV's live coverage of Scotland v Brazil from the Emirates Stadium in February 2011, as well as hosting coverage of the Murrayfield Rugby Sevens.

McCulloch left STV in August 2011 after it was announced that STV would be dropping Friday Night Football from their schedule, and shortly afterwards started appearing as an on-screen football reporter on Sky Sport's flagship Saturday football show Soccer Saturday.
