Joshua (Hebrew: יְהוֹשֻׁעַ Yĕhôshúa‘; Greek: Ἰησοῦς, Arabic: يوشع بن نون Yūshaʿ ibn Nūn), is a figure in the Torah, being one of the spies for Israel (Num 13-14) and in few passages as Moses's assistant. He is the central character in the Hebrew Bible's Book of Joshua. According to the books Exodus, Numbers and Joshua, he became the leader of the Israelite tribes after the death of Moses; his name was Hoshe'a the son of Nun, of the tribe of Ephraim, but Moses called him Yehoshu'a (Joshua) (Numbers 13:16) the name by which he is commonly known; and he was born in Egypt prior to the Exodus, and was probably the same age as Caleb, with whom he is occasionally associated.
He was one of the twelve spies of Israel sent by Moses to explore the land of Canaan. (Numbers 13:1-16) After the death of Moses, he led the Israelite tribes in the conquest of Canaan, and allocated the land to the tribes. According to Biblical chronology, Joshua lived between 1500–1390 BCE, or sometime in the late Bronze Age. According to Joshua 24:29, Joshua died at the age of 110.
Joshua Radin (born June 14, 1974) is an American recording artist, songwriter and actor.
He was born and raised in Shaker Heights, Ohio, to a Jewish family of Polish, German, Austrian, and Russian background. He studied drawing and painting at Northwestern University, following his college years with stints as an art teacher, screenwriter, and art gallery employee.
Radin turned to music when he moved to New York City, bought a guitar, and taught himself to play and write music.
In 2004, American actor Zach Braff introduced Radin's first composition, "Winter" to Scrubs' show creator, Bill Lawrence, who ultimately used several of Radin's songs within various scenes of the hit television series.
According to Radin his musical career started in 2004, and he had learned to play the guitar only two years before that. His first song, "Winter", appeared on his debut album "We Were Here". Since that time, Radin has been touring the United States, as well as much of the United Kingdom and Europe. Over the course of his career, Radin has shared stages with artists such as Sheryl Crow, Tori Amos, Imogen Heap, Meiko, Missy Higgins, Maria Taylor, Gary Jules, Amber Rubarth, Schuyler Fisk, The Script and many more. In addition to his American following, Radin has enjoyed success with his 2008 release, "Simple Times" in the United Kingdom. His song "I'd Rather Be With You" reached #2 on the UK Charts and number two on the US Top Digital Chart.
I was just thinking
It's been a long time
Since I got to see you
Tell you, I wish you were mine
And so I've been sinking
Into this dark place
Cause I need to hold you
Tell you, I'll never be fine
Unless you come home
I wish you would come home
So long sunshine
I've opened my eyes
Clouds of grey
Have taken my warm sky
Away
Still I know
Your old rays
Your old rays
Once
I thought I saw you
Wearing those blue jeans
The ones with the holes
In the knees
But I was mistaken
It was a stranger
And she flashed me a smile
As if she could
Somehow see that I need you
To come home
I wish you would come home
So long sunshine
I've opened my eyes
Clouds of grey
Have taken my warm sky
Away
Still I know
Your old rays
Your old rays
The day broke, it turned us around
We ended up on the ground
Suddenly everything changed
So long sunshine
I've opened my eyes
Clouds of grey
Have taken my warm sky
Away
Still I know
Your old rays
Iâ€ll wait for something under a streetlight
It wonâ€t be long
Because itâ€s dark, itâ€s cold
Itâ€s one of those nights
Itâ€s one of those nights where
Thereâ€s something out there
Keeps me alive
But I donâ€t know where to go
So I think Iâ€ll sit and stay here a while
Till I figure it out
So let the wind blow us
To wherever it says
We are supposed to go
When you want something but canâ€t name it
Itâ€s under a streetlight
Itâ€s something youâ€ve never seen before
Open the door
Itâ€s something youâ€ve always been afraid of
Itâ€s under a streetlight
And now all you want is more
But donâ€t know where to go
So I think Iâ€ll sit and stay here a while
Till I figure it out
So let the wind blow us
To wherever it says
We are supposed to go
Let the wind blow us
To wherever it says
We are supposed to go
I donâ€t mind the wait itâ€s fine
As long as you know
Itâ€s the wait that could be the something
I donâ€t know where to go
So I think Iâ€ll sit and stay here a while
Till I figure it out
So let the wind blow us
To wherever it says
We are supposed to go
So let the wind blow us
To wherever it says
We are supposed to go
Diggin a hole and the walls are caving in
behind me,
airs gettin thin but I'm trying,
I'm breathing in,
come find me
it hasnt felt like this before
it hasnt felt like home...before you
And I know its easy to say, but its harder to feel this way,
And I miss you more than I should, than I thought I could,
I can't get my mind off of you
I know you're scared that I'll soon be over it,
thats part of it all,
part of the beauty of falling in love with you,
is the fear you wont fall
it hasnt felt like this before
it hasnt felt like home...before you
And I know its easy to say, but its harder to feel this way
And I miss you more than I should, than I thought I could,
I can't get my mind off of you
and I hate the phone,
but I wish you'd call,
thought being alone,
was better than, was better than...
And I know its easy to say, but its harder to feel this way
And I miss you more than I should, than I thought I could,
I can't get my mind off of you.
The bus is here 'til 3
So we got an hour to see,
The ones tonight,
The ones with the light,
That keeps shining,
She makes her mark; it's clear,
Checks herself, feeds the fear
Of the one tonight, the one with the light
That keep shining,
Johnny puts the whiskey on the table,
Calling out to everyone who's able.
And we will never change,
The way we are here,
I like that we are kinda strange,
So won't you stay near?
The taxi's is filled with 5,
He thanks the world he's alive,
Alive tonight, the beauty is honestly blinding.
So take a look around,
Almost lost, we've finally found
The ones tonight, the ones with the light,
That keep shining.
Johnny puts the whiskey on the table,
Calling out to anyone who's able.
And we will never change,
The way we are here,
I like that we are kinda strange,
So won't you stay near?
Johnny puts the whiskey on the table,
Calling out to everyone who's able.
We will never change,
The way we are here,
I like that we are strange,
See a mountain, see an ocean, see the years that bring
Rock and tide together
Settle down I said to myself, things that come with time
Will always be better
Everyone gets what they want too fast, these days
No one knows the way to make things last
Still I say, Hey Baby, I'm through waiting
'Cause I need you now I'll show you how
You can take my hand and save me, C'mon save me
Now the moon is in the right place after years of
spinning 'round the sun, so I'm done with
all the times I strained to find a rhyme left me blind and busted
Everyone gets what they want too fast, these days
No one knows the way to make things last
Still I say, Hey Baby, I'm through waiting
'Cause I need you now I'll show you how
You looked like the sun
I was the only one
who could stare until you were done shining on me
and as we drank our wine and let the world fade away
the sunrise tried to end it while we tried to stay.
The rest of my life can't compare to this night
and only the heartaches have given me sight,
they bring me to you,
they bring me to you.
Moon pours through the ceiling tonight
embraces us tight
shows me we're right for each other
and as we lie here and let the world fade away
the sunrise tries to end it while we try to stay.
The rest of my life can't compare to this night
and only the heartaches have given me sight,
they bring me to you,
they bring me to you,
they bring me to you,
they bring me to you.
It's all about the first night and last,
some people say
well I love you so much more tonight,
more than yesterday.
The rest of my life can't compare to this night
and only the heartaches have given me sight,
they bring me to you,
they bring me to you,
they bring me to you,
When I'm weary and tired
When I'm far from home,
I think of you in the rain and I kiss you.
I can't build you a castle; I can't buy you a ring; I can't see you tonight,
So I miss you.
Now it's raining. Think I'll go inside.
Somebody stole my suitcase filled with pictures of you.
So I forget what your face looked like when we were just twenty
And it's raining. I think I'll go inside.
I felt this way before, walking out your front door.
I'm a sea without a shore and it's raining. It's really raining.
I think I'll go inside.
When I miss the sunshine, all I got are clouds
It's your bed I see, near the fire.
Baby if you've got room, I could come and see you.
Make your favorite tea and when we tire, listen to the rain fall.
Think I'll go inside.
Somebody stole my suitcase, filled with pictures of you.
So I forget what your face looked like when we were just twenty and it's raining.
Think I'll go inside.
I felt this way before, walking out your front door.
I'm a sea without a shore and it's raining.
It's really raining.
Think I'll go inside.
Yeah it's raining.
Baby, it's raining.
Everybody's too loud
I can't listen to myself
I need somewhere I can go
Underwater's where I'll go
Underwater
they keep talking to me
I can't hear what they're saying
I need somewhere I can go
Underwater's where I'll go
Underwater, that's where you'll find me
Someplace I've never been, underwater
Oooo, underwater
Oooo
Oooo
Let it rain
I need a change
Let it rain
Til I'm underwater
We are up and we're down
We are big to a small town
We are dry til we drown
Ooo underwater
Underwater
I'm not afraid of the darkness anymore
I'm not afraid of the darkness anymore
Cuz I get high underwater
Yeah, I get high, underwater
We are up and we're down
We are big to a small town
We are dry til we drown
Ooo underwater
Underwater
Oooo
You asked me to write a tune
All about the things that go wrong
And then you asked me to come home soon
To the place where I belong
But you stand on the other side
Of the line in this place
And you can't see me, you are blind
And this you can fake
No, this you can fake.
And sometimes, sometimes I wanna be
I scream that I wanna be
Anyone but me.
And I don't know if I can write about
Chosen walls and the things you feel
And I don't know if I can sing aloud
Closing doors showing you what's real
But I know when I close my eyes,
Late at night, there's only one thing
The night's shown that she can lie
Its your face, show me something
Can you show me something
And sometimes, sometimes I wanna be
I scream that I wanna be
Anyone but me.
What do you want me to say
All I know is love - it's ok
I'll write what I know
And you do the same
Tell me I'm sane.
And sometimes, sometimes I wanna be
I scream that I wanna be
You're tryin' to figure out
How to sleep
At night
And this city is casting doubt
Which one of me
Is right?
Who are you
When you're home?
Without a suitcase
Nowhere to roam
If you speak
Do they hear?
And if you laugh
Do they draw near?
And if you cry
Does it show
When you're lost at home
The bed's too still
Where you lay
Your head
You open up your eyes
As the sun
Begins to set
Who are you
When you're home?
Without a suitcase
Nowhere to roam
If you speak
Do they hear?
And if you laugh
Do they draw near?
And if you cry
Does it show
Same old place as the last year
Waiting for the morning
How do we end up here
Speaking the same story
Half the world is sleeping
Half the world is quiet
Same old place as the last year
Tomorrow we will try
Cause there's the sun
Don't go away
It isn't done
Until we say
Everything we mean to do
All of it
We thought we knew
What are we supposed to do
We want everything
Promises were spoken
All has been forgotten
Plant the seeds you're holding
Another year to grow them
Cause there's the sun
Don't go away
It isn't done
Until we say
Everything we mean to do
All of it, we thought we knew
What are we supposed to do
We want everything
We want everything
We want everything
It's not enough
The thing we wanted
Is not the same
It always changes
It always changes
Everything we mean to do
All of it, we thought we knew
What are we supposed to do
We want everything
We want everything
We been runnin
Down the skyway
Just like the years before
Songs we're singing
Singing my way I
Can't sing thata way no more
Cos she runs
Cos she rolls
Cos her fire sings
To my soul
She walks streets
A thousand miles
From where I lay in my hands
Through the gardens
The rains of England
Wash away what bled
From my wounds
From years before
Let the storm blow myyyy boat
To a door
#And I can't think about
Anybody else
That's the way I felt
It's the cards we're dealt all along
You see (that)
She belonged to me#
There's a pain
That rests within her
Been there all her life
The bright'n'rain
An family dinner
Keep her feelin' right
Near her light brown eyes I stay
Till the White cliffs seaside
Wash away
#And I can't think about
Anybody else
That's the way I felt
It's the cards we're dealt all along
You see (that)
She belonged to me#
It's been three years
Since I knew she was
The one
Now she appears
I Can't
Let her run
Life's just begun
#And I can't think about
Anybody else
That's the way I felt
It's the cards we're dealt all along
You see
Yeah all along
You see
I woke dreaming we had broke
Dreaming you left me for someone new
And you cried, drying those brown eyes
Crying you're sorry - sorry won't do
But this is the way I need to wake
I wake to you
And you never left me
All that I dreamt had been untrue
Open my eyes
I see sky
Oh, oh, oh, oh, you know the way to keep me on my toes
I, I, I will be fine - just say you'll stay forever mine
'Til we fall asleep tonight
Last night, we had a great fight
I fell asleep in a horrible state
Then dreamt that you loved my best friend
My heart would not mend - seemed it was fate
But this is the way I need to wake
I wake to you
And you never left me
All that I dreamt had been untrue
Open my eyes
I see sky
Oh, oh, oh, oh, you know the way to keep me on my toes
I, I, I will be fine - just say you'll stay forever mine
'Til we fall asleep tonight
Sometimes I forget to love you like I should
But I'd never leave you - no, I never would
I never would
Oh, oh, oh, oh, you know the way to keep me on my toes
I, I, I will be fine - just say you'll stay forever mine
Oh, oh, oh, oh, you know the way to keep me on my toes
I, I, I will be fine - just say you'll stay forever mine
'Til we fall asleep tonight
I've
been alone
The time
passes slow
Clock on the wall
It's hands don't move me at all
Time
passes slow
Memories fade
So much more to say
I guess I'll save it for another day
Where you are?
I wanna be there
But it seems so far
Take me where the wind blows
Anywhere the sun shines
Anywhere your love goes
You will find
I picture you
You teach me to fly
You're gonna sing me
Like a lullaby
Where you are?
I wanna be there
But it seems so far
Take me where the wind blows
Anywhere the sun shines
Anywhere your love goes
You will find me
I see the morning
As the darkness falls
I know there's more beyond the loneliness
I hear you call
Anywhere the wind blows
Anywhere the sun shines
Anywhere your love goes
You will find me
Anywhere the wind blows
Anywhere the sun shines
Anywhere your love goes
When you're lost
You're not alone
When you call
There's others like you
When you're too tired to stand
You can take my hand
I want to be the place that you land
Sing this song
And I'll come running along
When there so much to say
But you can't find the way
I'll put my arms around you
You put your hand in mine
And we'll stay
That's how we'll stay
When you break down on the road
When you wake up and you're all alone
Just close eyes
There are lows and high
And say my name to the sky
Sing this song
And I'll come running along
When there so much to say
But you can't find the way
I'll put my arms around you
You'll put your hand in mine
And we'll stay
That's how we'll stay
I wont give up till you're here with me
All that I am seems so incomplete Without you
Without you
Sing this song
And I'll come running along
When there so much to say
But you can't find the way
I'll put my arms around you
You'll put your hand in mine
And we'll stay
They say that you don't but they do
That I need a new face
One that's more amused
And someday I will find a way to
Meet in a new place
When they're less confused
We've been hurt before but that's all said and done
Now you're the only one
I want to dream in the same bed as you
And I want my clothes to smell like you do
Like they used to
I have so much to tell you
But I can't call you
'Cause it makes me sad
You have probably found someone new
Someone you think you've grown close to
But it's not me
We've been hurt before but that's all said and done
Now you're the only one
I want to dream in the same bed as you
And I want my clothes to smell like you do
Like they used to
I had wax wings and I flew too close to you
But now I'm falling remembering why I missed you
I want to dream in the same bed as you
And I want my clothes to smell like you do
Like they used to
I want to dream in the same bed as you
And I want my clothes to smell like you do
The thought of the curse
is the curse.
We started the day
the wrong way.
I go down,
downtown
try to turn you around,
The odyssey in me,
You say you don't need.
One last first mistake I want,
One last pill to take I need,
Give me one more.
This isn't how
it was supposed to end,
But suddenly you're
following their trends.
I believed
what you told,
But someday soon
you will be sold.
One last first mistake I want
One last pill to take I need,
Give me one more.
One last first mistake I want
One last pill to take I need,
Give me one more.
One last first mistake I want
One last pill to take I need,
Everyone in is town
Saying the same thing
Wait 'til tomorrow
See what that brings
Moon rises
nbrings surprises to this small town
Tryna wait tonight
Til the midnight
Talks her loud
Remember the simple times
When a girl was on her own
And the world was full of charm
And the sun was coming up
To a better day
She says take me back
To a time i knew before
Before I open
My eyes and knew
I wanted more
And it waits the line
Of five and dime
The man stare, she says
She doesn't mind
You set miles to feet
And she wears it on the sleep
And remebers the day she said
She was gonna leave
She says take me back
To a time I knew before
Before I open my eyes and knew
I wanted more
Uuh, it's doubt to follow
Time's not easy to swallow
We're all lone for yesterday
We said take us back
To a time we knew before
Before I open my eyes and knew
I know you're out there
Walk the streets and I feel you everywhere
I know you're nearby
And the wonder that I'm missing makes me wonder why
I can't find you
My luck is down and I'm feeling blue
I've tried everything
Except to stand on the corner so you hear me sing
Hey baby, I think that maybe you should come out to play
Let me shelter you on your rainy days
But I'm the only one
When everybody's sunny day has just begun
They walk hand in hand
And I smile at them all the best I can
Cuz I can't find you
My luck is down and I'm feeling blue
Except to stand on the corner so you hear me sing
Hey Hey Hey baby
I think that maybe you should come out to play
Let me shelter you on your rainy days
I will be your shelter
I will be your shelter
I can't find you
My luck is down and I'm feeling blue
I've tried everything except to stand on the corner so you hear me sing
Hey Hey hey baby I think that maybe you should come out to play
Let me shelter you on your rainy days
I will be your shelter
Some kind of magic
Happens late at night
When the moon smiles down on me
And bathes me in it’s light
I fell asleep beneath you
In the tall blades of grass
When I woke the world was new
I never had to ask
It’s a brand new day
The sun is shinning
It’s a brand new day
For the first time
In such a long long time
I know
I’ll be ok
Most kind of stories
Save the best part for last
Most stories have a hero who finds
You make your past your past
Ya you make your past your past
It’s a brand new day
The sun is shinning
It’s a brand new day
For the first time
In such a long long time
I know
I’ll be ok
This cycle never ends
Gotta fall in order to mend
And it’s a brand new day
It’s a brand new day
For the first time
Inn such a long long time
I know
Storm's coming up
On the horizon
Batten the hatches
Keep yourself from harm
But if those northern winds are too strong
And all the world come
Crashing in
Here's where
We begin
Taken for granted
Now you're all alone
You believed in someone
Who let you down
It seems like the end
But it's not over
You've shunned the new day
Won't let it in
Here's where
We begin
I'll come running for you
Your whole world's
Turned upside down
But my love
It will keep you
On solid ground
I'll come running
for you
I'll be the friend
you need
Some are reaching few are there
Want to rein from a hero's chair
Some are scared to fly so high
Well this is how we have to try
Have no envy and no fear
Have no envy, no fear
Brother, brother we all see
You're hiding out so painfully
See yourself come out to play
A lover's rain will wash away
your envy and your fear
So have no envy and no fear
When your sister turns to leave
Only when she's most in need
Take away the cause of pain
By showing her we're all the same
Have no envy and no fear
Have no envy and no fear
Every day we try to find
Search our hearts and our minds
The place we used to call our home
Can't be found when we're alone
So have no envy and no fear
Gonna wash the dust off my soul
Gonna listen to some rock 'n' roll
No cares, come what may
I'm making a beautiful day
Gonna drive my car to the sea
Swim out far cause I believe
That waves will wash the grey away
I'm making a beautiful day
Let me hear you say...
Ooh, oh oh, my my
I'm learning to fly
Hey, hey, what's that you said
Let's not forget we're alive
Gonna climb that hill behind my house
See what this place is all about
Cause from above it all, you can't help but say
It's gonna be a beautiful day
It's gonna be a beautiful day
But let me hear you say...
Ooh, oh oh, my my
I'm learning to fly
Hey, hey, what's that you said
Let's not forget we're alive
Gonna turn my enemies into friends
What's broken gets stronger when it mends
When we all come together, this song will play
We'll sing, it's a beautiful day
It's gonna be my beautiful day
Oh oh, my my
I'm learning to fly
Hey, hey, what's that you said
The wind blows through the willow
like a lion
Her feet are strong
but he can't help from trying
To keep that
Weeping lady crying
But don't you worry
She'll be fine
I'm holding on
To something tight
You may have taken us
For a ride
Into darkness
from the light
But don't you worry
We'll be fine
We'll be fine when I take your hand
Show you the way
I'm gonna be your man
Give me a sign,
I'll be at your door
I'll be at your door
As I want more
With you I'm a king
And a beggar
Our favorite role, the victim
Lasts forever
It's been this way since I remember
Don't you worry
We'll be fine
We'll be fine when I take your hand
Show you the way
I'm gonna be your man
Give me a sign
I'll be at your door
I'll be at your door
As I want more
Don't you worry, we'll be fine
We'll be fine when I take your hand
Show you the way
I'm gonna be your man
Give me a sign
I'll be at your door
I'll be at your door
All alongI thought something would go wrong
Didn't you?
Walls were up
we never pushed our luck, like we wanted to
Every time I loose myself I find
I'm left alone but you need to know
(Chorus)
For you I'd break these walls
I'd choose to fall
I'm going to cross that line for you
The sun is down
I thought you'd be gone by now
Didn't you?
Autumn night, I watch your face in the firelight
and I say to you
Every time I loose myself I find
I'm left alone but you need to know
(Chorus)
For you I'd break these walls
I'd choose to fall
I'm going to cross that line for you
I don't know the right way
wonder what you'd say if I let go
(Chorus) 2x
For you I'd break these walls
I'd choose to fall
I'm going to cross that line for you tonight
The sun is down
the spell from your hell has been cast
it seems your past is gonna last
so take the mask away from your weary eyes
or you'll become what you despise
you're running around this ring of fire
you're not as young as you once were
damn you look tired, but how'd you get here?
you're running with speed
you fall apart with every heart, you're dying to meet
and all the time you talk about the way you feel
we're sick of what you reveal
you said that you were gonna grow, well i still wait to see it show
you're getting high and wondering
what it's like to be the older version of me
you're running around this ring of fire
you're not as young as you once were
damn you look tired, but how'd you get here
you're running with speed
you fall apart with every heart, you're dying to meet
and all the time you talk about the way you feel
we're sick of what you reveal, how'd you get here
you're running with speed, you fall apart with every heart
you're dying to meet
and all the time you talk about the way you feel
I can't get to bed
But I'm really tired
The things in my head
You used to admire
In your sundrenched world
It couldn't be worse
Don't bother asking
And here comes the nerves
While I'm trying to bask
In your sundrenched world
I'm talking to you
But you're not listening
I don't know what to do
My heart is blistering
Writing this song
Tell me I'm not wrong
I close up my mouth
When you're around now
Suffocating in doubt
I can't make a sound
In your sundrenched world
I always wanted to be
The one you looked to
For the answers in me
I'm the one who took you
To your sundrenched world
I'm talking to you
But you're not listening
I don't know what to do
My heart is blistering
Writing this song
Tell me I belong
It's all been said
Once before
We fucked around
On your bedroom floor
I'm talking to you
But you're not listening
I don't know what to do
My hands are blistering
Writing this song
Tell me I belong
Tell me I belong
Tell me I
You asked me to write a tune
All about the things that go wrong
And then you asked me to come home soon
To the place where I belong
But you stand on the other side
Of the line in this place
And you can't see me, you are blind
And this you can fake
No, this you can fake.
And sometimes, sometimes I wanna be
I scream that I wanna be
Anyone but me.
And I don't know if I can write about
Chosen walls and the things you feel
And I don't know if I can sing aloud
Closing doors showing you what's real
But I know when I close my eyes,
Late at night, there's only one thing
The night's shown that she can lie
Its your face, show me something
Can you show me something
And sometimes, sometimes I wanna be
I scream that I wanna be
Anyone but me.
What do you want me to say
All I know is love - it's ok
I'll write what I know
And you do the same
Tell me I'm sane.
And sometimes, sometimes I wanna be
I scream that I wanna be
Anyone but me.
Diggin a hole and the walls are caving in
behind me,
airs gettin thin but I'm trying,
I'm breathing in,
come find me
it hasnt felt like this before
it hasnt felt like home...before you
And I know its easy to say, but its harder to feel this way,
And I miss you more than I should, than I thought I could,
I can't get my mind off of you
I know you're scared that I'll soon be over it,
thats part of it all,
part of the beauty of falling in love with you,
is the fear you wont fall
it hasnt felt like this before
it hasnt felt like home...before you
And I know its easy to say, but its harder to feel this way
And I miss you more than I should, than I thought I could,
I can't get my mind off of you
and I hate the phone,
but I wish you'd call,
thought being alone,
was better than, was better than...
And I know its easy to say, but its harder to feel this way
And I miss you more than I should, than I thought I could,
I can't get my mind off of you.
can't get my mind off of you
Some are reaching few are there,
wandering from a heros chair,
some are scared to fly so high,
well this is how we have to try
Have No Envy, and No Fear, Have No Envy, No Fear
Brother brother, we all see,
your hiding out so painfully,
see yourself come out to play,
a lovers rain will wash away
You Envy And You Fear, So Have No Envy, No Fear
When your sister turns to leave,
only when shes most in need,
take away the cause of pain,
by showing her we're all the same.
Have No Envy And No Fear, Have No Envy and No Fear
And every day we try to find,
we search our hearts and our minds,
the place we used to call our home,
cant be found when were alone.
So Have No Envy, No Fear, Have No Envy And No Fear
What if you
Could wish me away
What if you
Spoke those words today
I wonder if you'd miss me
When I'm gone
It's come to this, release me
I'll leave before the dawn
But for tonight
I'll stay here with you
Yes, for tonight
I'll lay here with you
But when the sun
Hits your eyes
Through your window
There'll be nothing you can do
What if you
Could hear this song
What if I
Felt like I belong
I might not be leaving
Oh so soon
Began the night believing
I loved you in the moonlight
So, for tonight
I'll stay here with you
Yes, for tonight
I'll lay here with you
But when the sun
Hits your eyes
Through your window
There'll be nothing you can do
I could've treated you better
Better than this
Well, I'm gone, this song's your letter
Can't stay in one place
So, for tonight
I'll stay here with you
Yes, for tonight
I'll lay here with you
But when the sun
Hits your eyes
Through your window
Shoelaces untied
You can dry your eyes
Perfect shadows alive
Behind us
This is the day i make you mine
The way your hair lies
sometimes unrecognized
All the way from these today
on a train
Nothing to say if theres still time
But you are the one
I've been wating for today
And here comes the sun
That's been baiting on today
Lately i've lost my tongue
Today you found the sun
I know not long has grown
Well i thank god u came along
But you are the one
I've been waitng for today
And here comes the sun
That's been baiting on today
You looked right through me
When there was no one else
I am Side beside you and became myself
Today... today
You are the one
I've been waiting for today
And here comes the sun t
Looking from the window above
It's like a story of love
Can you hear me?
Came back only yesterday
Who went further away
Want you near me
All I needed was the love you gave
All I needed for another day
And all I ever knew
Only you
Sometimes when I think of her name
When it's only a game
And I need you
Listen to the words that you say
It's getting harder to stay
When I need you
All I needed was the love you gave
All I needed for another day
And all I ever knew
Only you
This is gonna take a long time
And I wonder what's mine
Can't take no more
Wonder if you'll understand
It's just the touch of your hand
Behind a closed door
All I needed was the love you gave
All I needed for another day
And all I ever knew
I woke dreaming we had broke
Dreaming you left me for someone new
And you cried, drying those brown eyes
Crying you're sorry - sorry won't do
But this is the way I need to wake
I wake to you
And you never left me
All that I dreamt had been untrue
Open my eyes
I see sky
Oh, oh, oh, oh, you know the way to keep me on my toes
I, I, I will be fine - just say you'll stay forever mine
'Til we fall asleep tonight
Last night, we had a great fight
I fell asleep in a horrible state
Then dreamt that you loved my best friend
My heart would not mend - seemed it was fate
But this is the way I need to wake
I wake to you
And you never left me
All that I dreamt had been untrue
Open my eyes
I see sky
Oh, oh, oh, oh, you know the way to keep me on my toes
I, I, I will be fine - just say you'll stay forever mine
'Til we fall asleep tonight
Sometimes I forget to love you like I should
But I'd never leave you - no, I never would
I never would
Oh, oh, oh, oh, you know the way to keep me on my toes
I, I, I will be fine - just say you'll stay forever mine
Oh, oh, oh, oh, you know the way to keep me on my toes
I, I, I will be fine - just say you'll stay forever mine
'Til we fall asleep tonight
'Til we fall asleep tonight
oh oh oh, oh oh oh oh x3
let me tell you about the way i roam,
i call the road my home
so it makes the nights alone without you.
though i've travelled a million miles
you're the only thing that makes me smile
i think about my baby all the while i'm without you
so so so what i need to know know know
is when i get home home home
will you still be there
CHORUS
i've been around the way
been around but not ok
ah whoaaaa
cos i missed you so
i'm coming home
just to let you know
that i missed you
oh oh oh, oh oh oh oh x3
the first time i met her
i started feeling better
so i thought i'd let her in
now she's my everything
the reason why i sing
she turns my winter into spring
when i'm near her
so so so what i need to know know know
is when i get home home home
will you still be there
CHORUS
i've been around the way
been around but not ok
ah whoaaaa
cos i missed you so
i'm coming home
just to let you know
that i missed you
every croud i see you face
i keep looking just incase
it's all perfect but there's something outta place
oh oh oh, oh oh oh oh x3
so so so what i need to know know know
is when i get home home home
will you still be there
CHORUS
i've been around the way
been around but not ok
ah whoaaaa
cos i missed you so
i'm coming home
just to let you know
that i missed you
You're Sylvia Plath
As you drift from the bath.
I hand you a robe
And so it goes,
The moment'll pass.
You're Simone de Beauvoir
As you get out the car.
The way you read me,
No one can see me
Is you are.
And these photographs keep me alive.
Babe, here's your song.
Babe, it took too long
To find in your eyes
My best surprise.
You're Nina Simone
When you talk on the phone.
You sing to me
And I'm truly
No longer alone.
You're Mary Cassatt
When people tell you you're not.
You're like a child.
All the while
I need you a lot.
And these photographs keep me alive.
Babe, here's your song.
Babe, it took too long
To find in your eyes
My best surprise.
And I wanna know what you know
And I wanna go where you go
These things remind me of
These things remind me of
These things remind me of you.
Babe, here's your song.
Babe, it took too long
To find in your eyes
Peter said to Paul you know all those words we wrote
Are just the rules of the game and the rules are the first to go
But now talking to God is Laurel begging
Hardy for a gun I got a girl in the war man I wonder what it is we done
Paul said to Peter you got to rock yourself a little harder
Pretend the dove from above is a dragon and your feet are on fire
But I got a girl in the war
Paul the only thing I know to do
Is turn up the music and pray that she makes it through
Because the keys to the Kingdom got lost inside the Kingdom
And the angels fly around in there but we can't see them I got a girl in the war
Paul I know that they can here me yell
If they can't find a way to help her they can go to Hell
If they can't find a way to help her they can go to Hell
Paul said to Peter you got to rock yourself a little harder
Pretend the dove from above is a dragon and your feet are on fire
But I got a girl in the war Paul her eyes are like champagne
They sparkle bubble over and in the morning all you got is rain
They sparkle bubble over and in the morning all you got is rain
They sparkle bubble over and in the morning all you got is rain
One more hour
'Til the sun goes down
And the moon's over heaven
Got ten years now
But counting down
All I want is eleven
Any day now
This is how it started
Any day now
Turn around
At the edge of town
Heart beats with the freedom
I've got one more year
'Til I'm far from here
Don't know how to leave 'em
Any day now
I will find my way out
Any day now
Any day
Any day
Well now I'm always looking for a way
Any day
Any day
Any day
Now I'm always trying to find my way
Been up all night,
Staring at you,
Wondering what's on your mind.
I've been this way,
With so many before,
But this feels like the first time.
You want the sunrise,
To go back to bed,
I want to make you laugh.
Mess up my bed with me,
Kick off the covers I'm waiting.
Every word you say,
I think I should write down.
Don't want to forget come daylight.
Happy to lay here,
Just happy to be here,
I'm happy to know you.
Play me a song,
Your newest one,
Please leave your taste on my tongue.
Paperweight on my back,
Cover me like a blanket.
Mess up my bed with me,
Kick off the covers I'm waiting.
Every word you say,
I think I should write down.
Don't want to forget come daylight.
And no need to worry,
That's wastin time.
And no need to wonder,
What's been on my mind.
It's you, it's you, it's you.
Every word you say,
I think I should write down.
Don't want to forget come daylight.
And i give up,
I let you win,
You win cause I'm not counting.
You made it back,
To sleep again,
Wonder what you're dreaming.
Sometimes it's easier to hide away
When the winter comes and it's shorter days,
But I know the dark clouds won't stay,
Tomorrow is gonna be better.
Sometimes it's easier to hit the road,
When the world has given you a heavy load.
But if you stay and face it I know,
Tomorrow is gonna be better,
Let the rain fall,
Let the rain fall,
To the day's new,
And all that's left, is just me and you.
The best part of us is part of me,
So with you is whereIi rather be,
But if you can I understand I still believe,
Tomorrow is gonna be better,
Let the rain fall,
Let the rain fall,
To the day's new,
And all that's left, is just me and you.
I know it's just one of those days,
But you stay strong I'm gonna find a way to take it off
And make it okay,
Tomorrow is gonna be better,
Tomorrow is gonna be better,
Let the rain fall,
Let the rain fall.
Til' the day's new,
And all that's left is just me and you.
Let the rain fall,
Let the rain fall.
Till' the day's new,
And all that's left is just me and you,
So, we're alone again
i wish it were over
we seem to never end
only get closer
to the point where i can take no more
the clouds in your eyes
down your face they pour
won't you be the new one burn to shine
i take the blue ones every time
walk me down your broken line
all you have to do is cry
hush my baby now
your talking is just noise and won't lay me down amongst
your toys in a room where i can take no more
the clouds in your eyes
down your face they pour
won't you be the new one burn to shine
i take the blue ones every time
walk me down your broken line
all you have to do is cry
photographs and brightly colored paper
are your mask you wear in this caper
that is our life
we walk right into the strife
and a tear from your eye brings me home
won't you be the new one burn to shine
i take the blue ones every time
walk me down your broken line
Way down, in New York town
Thinking about the way she loved me
There's a hole in my pocket
That's about her size
But I think everything
Is gonna be alright
Yes I hope everything
Is gonna be alright
The smiling face, straight in LA
The gifts are found at the bar
But I wish my car
Could drive to her tonight
Then I'd know everything
Is gonna be alright
Yes then I'd know
It'll be alright
The rain in New Orleans, forgot to end
But the mouths of the people are dry
And we watch and wait
And do nothing but sigh
And hope everything
Is gonna turn alright
But I don't know
If it'll be alright
But I look at you, warm in your dream
While your mobile dances above
And I think to myself
It's a beautiful night
And I know everything
Is gonna be alright
Yes now I know
It's the whiskey and the water
The fire and ice
No pleasure without sacrifice
The shore and the ocean,
The moon and the sun
One without the other and both are done.
I believe in what's supposed to be
It's supposed to be you and me.
I'm with you forever
'Cause we're the best when we're together.
I'm with you forever
You are the only one and we've just begun.
Let the wave in your ocean
Follow my shore
Your glass is empty
I'll pour some more.
I left the table for lack of a muse
It gave me time to search for you.
I believe in what's supposed to be,
It's supposed to be you and me.
I'm with you forever
'Cause we're the best when we're together.
I'm with you forever
You are the only one
We've just begun.
There are mountains that reach to the sky
That I'd climb to find you.
If you forget, I'll do my best to try
To remind you.
I'm with you forever,
'Cause we're the best when we're together
I'm with you forever,
You are the only one and
Somehow
I'm leading someone else's life
I cut a star down with my knife
And right now
I still see the way the moon
Plays this tune
Though our lights died.
My hands shake
My knees quake
It's every day
The same way.
Cos then came you.
Then there's you.
I keep your picture
In my worn through shoes.
Then there's you.
Then came you.
When I'm lost,
I look at my picture of you.
And somehow
I'll make tonight our own
I'll show you every way I've grown
Since I met you
And right now
I'll be the boy in your next song
I'll learn the parts and play along
If you let me.
My hands shake
My knees quake
It's every day
The same way.
Cos then came you.
Then there's you.
I keep your picture
In my worn through shoes.
Then there's you.
Then came you.
When I'm lost,
I look at my picture of you.
If you let me,
I'll show the world to you.
Yes, if you let me,
I'll know just what to do.
Cos then came you.
Then there's you.
I keep your picture
In my worn through shoes.
When I'm lost
In your eyes
Oh doubt in the girl by your side
She's feeding your pride
As you go for a ride
Down the Star Mile
Worlds arise as she lets you come in
A duo begins
To the Hollywood Inn
Of the lonely
And all the gold dust in her eyes won't reform into rain
You hadn't lost the one thing
You kept in a safe place
Remember the face
Of the girl who had made you her own
And how you left her alone
All's well at the base of the hill
You might need to fill
A prescription to kill
Off the silence.
Look down from your tower on high
And take in the night
Look her right in the eye
She'll listen
And all the gold dust in her eyes won't reform into rain
You hadn't lost the one thing
You kept in a safe place
Remember the face
Of the girl who had made you her own
And how you left her alone
Life goes to those that are true
The regular news
Over playing the blues
With the light on
And if you burn the road
That'll lead you back to her in time
I watch you turn to stone
You can't find the sunlight
She's moving on without you
The tide breaks
You watch the stars fade
They gather you back to their home
The sun is down and the road is long
But something keeps me feeling strong - it's you
Bring tomorrow, I got nothing to lose
I've been wrong so many times
But I'll keep searching all the while - for you
Bring tomorrow, tonight I'll dive right through
These days I'm trying to find
Some place to rest my mind
I am blind to the place I'm trying to get to
But I'm... running out of time
And I've been told you can't get through to
Those who want to erase you - but I'll try
Bring tomorrow, I think she'll be on my side
Bring tomorrow, tonight I need to fly
These days I'm trying to find
Some place to rest my mind
I am blind to the place I'm trying to get to
But I'm... running out of time
These days I'm trying to find
Some place to rest my mind
I am blind to the place I'm trying to get to
We've been waiting,
anticipating your arrival.
Turn the light on,
give us road to ride on
help ensure survival
now there's a new day,
sing with us a new way
or be left behind.
You say, someday
we'll know where to go,
but we don't know
I'm always the last one,
never ready for the fast ones,
well it's time to change
so we make our plans,
set our sites on a new land
one that's kind of strange
you say, someday
we'll know where to go but we don't know
you say, someday
we'll know where to go but we don't know
I'm always the last one
never ready for the fast ones,
well it's time to change
so we make our plans,
set our sites on a new land
Wait right here
Was all she said to me
And so right here I stay
Time has reached our home
And I've been left alone
It's carried her away
And everyone keeps saying
Nothing helps but time
Time is all I own
The timings stop replaying over in my mind
I watch the hours slow down
So I crawl underneath my blanket
Where I can hide away
I know I can't take it
‘Cause I see now
It's just one of those days
Now a year has passed
Alone I stay inside
And I await the rain
To wash away your face
So I don’t have to hide
The sight of you is painful
So I crawl underneath my blanket
Where I can hide away
I know I can’t take it anymore
‘Cause I see now
It's just one of those days
I can't stop
Seeing your face
I can't stop
Seeing your face
Everyplace
So I crawl underneath my blanket
Where I can hide away
I know I can't take it anymore
‘Cause I see now
What if I let myself fall
What if the stars don't agree
Would the world stop, or would it spin round without us
Would it spin around you without me
Well our heroes have all been traded in
Can't think of what they used to be
So we look round and pray for salvation
While they search for a light out at sea
So we take, one, leap, for the bottom
And I pray your hope's not forgotten
And it's to too much to say
I need you this way
But tomorrow, you're already, gone
And I can't move on
I talk to you
In my mind while I lie down,
I wish you could hear all the words you'd said without knowing
They've traveled the world in my ears
As I take, one, leap, for the bottom
And I pray that your hopes not forgotten
And it's too much too say
I need you this way
For tomorrow, you're already, gone
And I have to move on
And I've never known of a world where someone like me could fall down
To only be caught don't know, you turned on the light and
Now I can see
So I take one, leap, for the bottom
And i, know, that your hope's long forgotten
And it's too much to say
I need you this way
But tomorrow you're already gone
Been stoned, been smoked
Been drunk, been bedded now
We got nowhere to go
We got nowhere else to go
All this time, all we wanna know
Is where are we headed but
We got nowhere to go
We got nowhere else to go
You see, we can be free
If we live in our heads
So let's say let it be
And I won't get left by the wayside
I said I'm gonna turn a blind eye
How you see me
They say that's the key
Oh whoa, yeah
That's how I, that's how I wish I could be
But I need, but I want
So I get something better but
I got a ways to go
I got a ways to go
All this time I've been following life
To the letter, but
That ain't the way to go
That ain't the way to go
You see, we can be free
If we live in our heads
So let's say let it be
And I won't get left by the wayside
I said I'm gonna turn a blind eye
How you see me
They say that's the key
Oh whoa, yeah
That's how I, that's how I wish I could be
But I need, but I want
So I'll get something better but
I got a ways to go
I got a ways to go
You see, we can be free
If we live in our heads
So let's say let it be
And I won't get left by the wayside
I said I'm gonna turn a blind eye
How you see me
They say that's the key
Oh whoa, yeah
Some are reaching few are there,
wandering from a heros chair,
some are scared to fly so high,
well this is how we have to try
Have No Envy, and No Fear, Have No Envy, No Fear
Brother brother, we all see,
your hiding out so painfully,
see yourself come out to play,
a lovers rain will wash away
You Envy And You Fear, So Have No Envy, No Fear
When your sister turns to leave,
only when shes most in need,
take away the cause of pain,
by showing her we're all the same.
Have No Envy And No Fear, Have No Envy and No Fear
And every day we try to find,
we search our hearts and our minds,
the place we used to call our home,
cant be found when were alone.
Sitting here, on this lonely dock
Watch the rain play on the ocean top
All the things I feel I need to say
I can't explain in any other way
I need to be bold
Need to jump in the cold water
To grow older with a girl like you
Finally see you are naturally
The one to make it so easy
When you show me the truth
Yeah, I'd rather be with you
Say you want the same thing too
Now here's the sun, come to dry the rain
Warm my shoulders and relieve my pain
You're the one thing that I'm missing here
With you beside me I no longer fear
I need to be bold
Need to jump in the cold water
To grow older with a girl like you
Finally see you are naturally
The one to make it so easy
When you show me the truth
Yeah, I'd rather be with you
Say you want the same thing too
I could have saved so much time for us
Had I seen the way to get to where I am today
You waited on me for so long
So now, listen to me say:
I need to be bold
Need to jump in the cold water
To grow older with a girl like you
Finally see you are naturally
The one to make it so easy
When you show me the truth
Yeah, I'd rather be with you
Say you want the same thing too
You're sitting in your chair
no ones around
your lights are turned down low
and your skin feels about to tear
and you is no sound
and all i am is frightened for you now
'cause you run and
how can I show you that you're done
you're on your knees
picking up the pieces from your past
but there's nothing more to gather
holding on to moments that won't last
or would you rather end it all
do you wanna?
sitting there is him
he has your eyes
calling you to somehow join them
and you're writhin' in your skin
and buyin' his lies
not realizing that you're home
won't you come home and
how can I show you that you're done
you're on your knees
picking up the pieces from your past
but there's nothing more to gather
holding on to moments that won't last
or would you rather end it all
do you wanna?
no one believes you smile alone
you wanna retrive your high on the phone
but when you hang up all I wanna do is help you to
pick up the pieces from your past
but there's nothing more to gather
holding on to moments that won't last
or would you rather end it all
do you wanna?
whoa oh oh
whoa oh oh
I'm starting over so, here we go, here we go
whoa oh oh
whoa oh oh oh
I'm starting over so, here we go, here we go
If I fall way down down would ya catch me
this old town, town has made a wretch of me
whoa oh oh, whoa oh oh oh
I need to wander down another road, another road
whoa oh oh, whoa oh oh oh
I need to wander down another road, another road
if you run away I, wont try to find you
I could find some way to remind you that
There's no there's no, there's no way to lose me
if you let me go let me go
there's no there's no there's no way to lose me
if you let me go
There was Somethin in the way, you looked at me that day
like someone far away that you once knew
I saw it too, whoa oh oh whoa oh oh
I'm startin over so here we go here we go
whoa oh oh whoa oh oh oh oh
We're like a painting
And now it's raining down
Watch the colors run till we're almost one
Watch us fading, in this one street town
We'll sleep where we follow no where at all.
Everyone wants something
Well I'm wanted by everyone but you.
Well I've been thinking about the bells with wine
Can't you see how time doesn't count at all
We've been sinking', thumbs to the sky
Sing this lullaby, if you start to fall.
See everyone wants something
Well you wanted everyone, but you.
And sometimes I need the light
To sleep alone on this weary night
And you own the sky, you own the sky
And everyone wants something
Well if we're wanted, it's by everyone but you.
I watch you sleeping', in your parents bed
Near the books you've read, underneath the shroud of
forgiveness.
You look around the crowd, hear the stories loud
So stand up now cause,
Everyone wants something, and if they're wanted,
Baby, you don’t even know me but one day I’ll get up the courage as you pass by.
You’ll see.
Oh baby, one look just might save me.
I need you to slow by the corner. Stop right in front of me.
‘Til then I’ll see you hopefully through.
I do wish that you’d ask me to ride along.
It wouldn’t be wrong to tell me more than I know about you.
She drives a vegetable car.
Diesel, Mercedes, green, two-door.
I barely know who you are.
Lisa Lobe glasses.
I’d sure like to ask you to stay.
Baby, I need you to save me. The one thing that my heart requires is that you admire me.
‘Til then I’ll see you hopefully through.
I do wish that you’d ask me to ride along.
It wouldn’t be wrong to tell me more than I know about you.
She drives a vegetable car
Diesel, Mercedes, green, two-door.
I barely know who you are.
Lisa Lobe glasses.
I’d sure like to ask you to stay.
How do I know why the sight of you makes me weak?
Each time I see you turn onto my street
Your hair is always up in a bun.
This girl is the one.
She drives a vegetable car
Diesel, Mercedes, green, two-door.
I barely know who you are.
Lisa Lobe glasses.
I’d sure like to ask you to stay.
I like the way you’re not afraid
You’ve got the world planned in your mind
People say you cannot do it
But they don’t know a friend like you
The girl you love has gone away
Still too young to know her heart
She’ll return her love renewed
Cause she’ll never find a friend like you
When I had no one to call
All the world had shut me down
I showed up at your door so blue
Thank God I had a friend like you
Any times I’ve gone without
A home, a meal, a pair of shoes
If you had three you’d give me two
The sun is setting and it's time for bed
But we can't sleep or even lay down
Cause there is something that you need to hear us say
All our worries are still in our heads
And all the trees are being cut down, down town
And on the news it's the fear that keeps us awake
We have to make them see clearly
Or in the end we'll all be paying dearly
How long has this been going on
Let the leaders say 'we know nothing'
Let them preach from up on their hill
When the people below want to change, if they can they will
You and me, and we'll make the world follow
You and me, and we'll make the world follow
We have to say it as one
Cause on our own no one will listen
Sing with me and they'll hear us from down below
We have to make them see it clearly
Or in the end we'll all be paying dearly
How long has this been going on
Let the leaders say 'we know nothing'
Let them preach from up on their hill
When the people below want to change, if they can they will
You and me, and we'll make the world follow
You and me, and we'll make the world follow
You and me, and we'll make the world follow
Bring marches over us
Now is the time
To welcome a new day
Open your eyes
We have to make them see it clearly
Or in the end we'll all be paying dearly
How long has this been going on
Let the leaders say 'we know nothing'
Let them preach from up on their hill
When the people below want to change, if they can they will
You and me, and we'll make the world follow
You and me, and we'll make the world follow
Well I'm down in London Town
And I've left the greener grass
And I need someone to tell me that this won't last
And I need you more tonight
Cause the rains won't wash away
All the bad things I've done since you left that day
Oh oh oh, I can't seem to let you go
Hey hey hey, what can I do to make you stay?
Cause I need you
Right back here
Where you belong
Sometimes I dream
And sometimes I cry
But I do both so well when you're by my side
Oh oh oh, I can't seem to let you go
Hey hey hey, what can I do to make you stay?
Cause I need you
Right back here
Where you belong
I've been chasing glory
But it's been so hard to find
It's the same old story, I got one thing on my mind
It's you
Oh oh oh, I can't seem to let you go
Hey hey hey, what can I do to make you stay?
Cause I need you
Right back here
Yes I need you
Right back here
Baby you, you got what I need
Baby you, you got my sunshine
Baby you, you got what I need
Baby you, you got my sunshine
When I see you it's a beautiful world
But when you're gone, I want you in my arms
I'm telling you the last time
Baby you, you got what I need
Baby you, you got my sunshine
Every night I notice you're all alone
Wonder you might
Let me love you I'm on fire
Can't you feel my desire
I want to take you higher
It's a simplest thing,
Always so hard to see
I want to be
The one and only making you feel love
Oh darling I need love
It's all I can dream of
Baby you, you got what I need
Baby you, you got my sunshine
Baby you, you got what I need
Baby you, you got my sunshine
I've been down this road before
i walk out the door
leave you on the floor
sometimes you run and hide
your foolish prides
what keeps me from giving you more
so the best thing
i can give to you
is for me to go
leave you alone
cause you got growin' up to do
some day i'll return when it's time
for payment in kind
the church bells'll chime
you'll stand before me surrounded by lights
dressed in white
you'll throw flowers in the air
this night
but the best thing
i can give to you
is for me to go
leave you alone
you got growin' up to do
looks like the rain's pouring down on me
it's drowning me now
all i want is to come back home
this old corduroy coat
it's not keeping me dry
but i can't think of what else to try
that's why the best thing
i can give to you
is for me to go
leave you alone
you got growin' up to do
now the best thing
i can give to you
is for me to go
leave you alone
Say, we'll run away, when things get better, better than today
Blind.....leading blind....never knowing, what we find
Where are we going, who are we now?
Let's decide.
This time you've got to make up your mind,
This life you're living.
This time you've got to make up your mind,
This life's worth living.
Get up, we've got a way's to go..................
We..........are only getting better
Where we were, that doesn't matter
Lately, everything is hazy, but I know what's true
Lately, everyone seems crazy, but I believe in you
Sun, shines in the eyes, of those who know how to leave the past behind.
This time you've got to make up your mind,
This life you're living.
This time you've got to make up your mind,
This life's worth living
Get up, we've got a way's to go..................
We..........are only getting better
Where we were that doesn't matter
Lately, everything seems hazy, but I know what's true
Lately, everyone seems crazy, but I believe in you!
This time you've got to make up your mind,
This life's worth living
Get up, we've got a way's to go..................
We..........are only getting better
Where we were that doesn't matter
Lately, everything seems hazy, but I know what's true
We are grown but cannot see
Lost our world of make believe
Simple times now seem so far
Used to be in my backyard
yeah, the world was still in my backyard
But, we are okay, we are alright
we sing very loud,
yeah, we're singing
we are okay, we are alright
close our eyes, close our mouth
yeah, we shut our eyes though we're in doubt
Build me a home from a cardboard box
Many windows never locked
This is how we used to play
Shorter nights and longer days
With faith we would not fade away
But we are okay, we are alright
We sing very loud
yeah, we're singing
We are okay, we are alright
Close our eyes, close our mouth
Yeah we shut our eyes though we're in doubt
And so it goes
We can never seem to find the time we lost
Though we try at any cost
We try, we sing
We are okay, we are alright
We sing very loud
Yeah, we're singing
We are okay, we are alright
Close our eyes, close our mouth
Something is said, it sits in my head
It's been there too long, it's killing me slow
It's rolling around, it's pushing me down
It's keeping the good part of me closed
Can't you see that when I find you, I'll find me
Oh I need you to know today I'll wait for you always
Oh I need you to know today I'll wait for you always
My only weakness, is knowing your secrets
And holding them close, and hold them tight
I know the way to silently make you
Smile with my eyes, when you're trying to fight
Can't you see that when I find you, I'll find me
Oh I need you to know today I'll wait for you always
Oh I need you to know today I'll wait for you always
Cause when I find you, I'll find me
Can't you see that when I find you I'll find me
Oh I need you to know today I'll wait for you always
Oh I need you to know today I'll wait for you always
Oh I need you to know today I'll wait for you always
When I find you...
When I find you...
Ooohhh... ahh
Something you said, it sits in my head
It's been there too long, it's killing me slow
It's rolling around, it's pushing me down
It's keeping the good part of me closed
Can't you see, that when I find you
I'll find me
Whoaaa
I need you to know
Today, I wait for you always
Ooooh
I need you to know
Today, I wait for you always
Ah... ah... ah...
My only weakness is knowing your secrets
I'm holding them close, I'm holding them tight
I know the way to, silently make you
Smile with my eyes when you're trying to fight
Can't you see, that when I find you
I'll find me
Ooooh
I need you to know
Today, I wait for you always
Ooooh
I need you to know
Today, I wait for you always
It's when I find you, I'll find me
Ah... ah... ah...
Can't you see, that when I find you
I'll find me
Ooooh
I need you to know
Today, I wait for you always
Ooooh
I need you to know
Today, I wait for you always
Ooooh
I need you to know
Today, I wait for you always
When I find you, oh when I find you
I should know
Who I am by now
I walk
The record stands somehow
Thinking of winter
Your name is the splinter inside me
While I wait
And I remember the sound
Of your November downtown
And I remember the truth
A warm December with you
But I don't have to make this mistake
And I don't have to stay this way
If only I would wake
The walk has all been cleared by now
Your voice is all I hear somehow
Calling out Winter
Your voice is the splinter inside me
While I wait
I remember the sound
Of your November downtown
And I remember the truth
A warm December with you
But I don't have to make this mistake
And I don't have to stay this way
If only I would wake
I could have lost myself
In rough blue waters in your eyes
And I miss you still
I remember the sound
Of your November downtown
And I remember the truth
A warm December with you
But I don't have to make this mistake
And I don't have to stay this way
So many moons
Have come and gone
All along
I heard this song
Inside me
To wait
I was told
But now I've found a different sound
I hear when you're around me
It's something new
Because of you
I hope I hear it forever
My, my love
I've been without you too long
My, my love
I've been running too fast to belong
To anyone
But then you came along
When first I laid eyes
Upon your face
This song replaced
All the others I had written
It's all brand new
Because of you
Feels like I've known you forever
My, my love
I've been without you too long
My, my love
I've been running too fast to belong
To anyone
But then you came along
You warm me like sunshine
You cool me like summer rain
Just let me sit down beside you
Over and over again
My, my love
I've been without you too long
My, my love
I've been running too fast to belong
To anyone
My eye's reflection
windows perfection
look and you'll see
the things I can be
the graves have passed
the moments don't last
like the God's of old days
that don't see my way
what I want today
don't look away, if you do than i may
no one knows truth not even you
you let your mind show
hate that i've known
that i've been there before
don't look away anymore
your stare is like a spot on the sun
I'm blind but the only one
who knows what to say to you
I say it today to you
your stare's like a wave
breakaway
from my life in the sand
a simple plan
what I want today
don't look away, if you do than i may
no one knows truth not even you
you let your mind show
hate that i've known
that i've been there before
don't look away anymore
you can't see me now
all those games you play
I can't know you know
I need one more day
cause I want to tell you
don't look away, if you do than i may
no one knows truth not even you
you let your mind show
hate that i've known
that i've been there before
don't look away anymore
don't look away, if you do than i may
no one knows truth not even you
you let your mind show
hate that i've known
that i've been there before
don't look away anymore
don't look away, if you do than i may
no one knows truth not even you
When you're lost
You're not alone
When you call
There's others like you
When you're too tired to stand
You can take my hand
I want to be the place that you land
Sing this song
And I'll come running along
When there so much to say
But you can't find the way
I'll put my arms around you
You put your hand in mine
And we'll stay
That's how we'll stay
When you break down on the road
When you wake up and you're all alone
Just close eyes
There are lows and high
And say my name to the sky
Sing this song
And I'll come running along
When there so much to say
But you can't find the way
I'll put my arms around you
You'll put your hand in mine
And we'll stay
That's how we'll stay
I wont give up till you're here with me
All that I am seems so incomplete Without you
Without you
Sing this song
And I'll come running along
When there so much to say
But you can't find the way
I'll put my arms around you
You'll put your hand in mine
And we'll stay
That's how we'll stay
Something’s wrong from the hilltop
I know you can’t see
I look strong all together
Though inside I’m weak
Still I bleed
Still I wait to heal
A wound for my crime
What I need
Are more bandages
They’ve torn over time
You shelter from the rain
Turn around walk away
Go now and don’t look back
My life’s come off its tracks
And you should be
Free of me
I couldn’t be who you wanted
Somewhere down the road
When I’m whole
When the rains are done
When I’ve reaped all I’ve sown
But here and now
On my hands and knees
I crawl through the mire
And your bead is so soft and warm
I’m weary and tired
You shelter from the rain
Turn around walk away
Go now and don’t look back
My life’s come off its tracks
And you should be
Free of me
Leave me alone
I’ll find another home
I’m on my knees
Crying out please
Go now and don’t look back
My life’s come off its tracks
And you should be
Free of me
Put the top down
Drive to the sea
Leave the city lights
Behind me
Let it go
Feel the sun shine
On my face
Took some time
But I found my place
By letting go
You're gonna see me running
Faster than before
This engine's humming
She's gonna give me something more
If I let it go
Let it go
I'm done moving slow
Let it go
Turn the radio up
To hear that sound
The sticks on the snare
Making me get down
let it go
Those I know who
Don't know me
Always telling me
Which way to be
Gonna let it go
You're gonna see me running
Faster than before
This engine's humming
She's gonna give me something more
If I let it go
Let it go
I'm done moving slow
Let it go
The rearview's only madness
I'm gonna save myself from Los Angeles
So tell everybody
You won't ever find me
I'm letting go
Let it go
I'm done moving slow
Time stopped when I saw you
I could barely breathe
Day broke
The sun rose
Lighting up you face
I am a lucky man
To recognize your grace
When I woke this morning
next to you
I said baby
this must be the place
Then you said
I know I'll never find another like you
Where I'm going
I know I'll never find another like you
Where the winds are blowing
So when I'm far away from here
I'm leaving you this song
And when you feel you miss me
You can always sing along
I am a lucky man
To recognize your grace
When I woke this morning next to you
I said baby this must be the place
Then you said,
I know I'll never find another like you
Where I'm going,
I know I'll never find another like you
Where the winds are blowing
You're the greenest grass growing
You've got this way of saying things on my mind
Before I know them
I've got these feelings
that I've come to find
I'm ready to show
If I looked
I'd never find another like you
Where I'm going
I know I'll never find another like you
Where the winds are blowing
You're the greenest grass growing
I said now
I know I'll never find another like you
Where I'm going
I know I'll never find another like you
Where the winds are blowing
oh oh oh, oh oh oh oh x3
let me tell you about the way i roam,
i call the road my home
so it makes the nights alone without you.
though i've travelled a million miles
you're the only thing that makes me smile
i think about my baby all the while i'm without you
so so so what i need to know know know
is when i get home home home
will you still be there
CHORUS
i've been around the way
been around but not ok
ah whoaaaa
cos i missed you so
i'm coming home
just to let you know
that i missed you
oh oh oh, oh oh oh oh x3
the first time i met her
i started feeling better
so i thought i'd let her in
now she's my everything
the reason why i sing
she turns my winter into spring
when i'm near her
so so so what i need to know know know
is when i get home home home
will you still be there
CHORUS
i've been around the way
been around but not ok
ah whoaaaa
cos i missed you so
i'm coming home
just to let you know
that i missed you
every croud i see you face
i keep looking just incase
it's all perfect but there's something outta place
oh oh oh, oh oh oh oh x3
so so so what i need to know know know
is when i get home home home
will you still be there
CHORUS
i've been around the way
been around but not ok
ah whoaaaa
cos i missed you so
i'm coming home
just to let you know
that i missed you
oh oh oh, oh oh oh oh x3
