Laura Ingraham Tells GOP 'Don't Lose Hope': Shutdown Will End, But Obamacare Still an Issue
Conservative radio host Laura Ingraham appeared on Fox & Friends on Wednesday morning where she told Conservatives who might be concerned that the Republican Party has suffered a defeat by forcing a government shutdown that they should not "lose hope." She said that the shutdown will be a distant memory by the 2014 midterm elections, but the onerous provisions in the Affordable care Act will continue to be a vivid concern for voters. Ingraham began by saying it's a matter of time before Republicans in Congress give up the fight over the ACA which led to the shutdown. She added that she thinks the "countdown to cave in" begins again after the shutdown as the president plans a renewed push for immigration reform. "This is what happens when you rush out your chin first and you don't really have the manpower and the numbers and the votes to push your goal through," Ingraham said.- published: 16 Oct 2013

Laura Ingraham Attacks 'Neo Cons' Supporting Syria Not 'Another Ill Conceived, Undefined War'
Conservative radio host Laura Ingraham attacked neoconservative Republicans in the harshest of terms on Tuesday's Fox & Friends. As a former Iraq War supporter, she said that there is no reason to support intervention in Syria. Ingraham blasted some in the GOP for supporting "another ill-conceived, undefined war," and added that the Iraq War regrettably paved the way for President Barack Obama to assume the presidency. "We have a current weapon of mass destruction in this country," Ingraham began expressing her opposition to intervention in Syria. "It's called unemployment." Ingraham attacked Republicans for agreeing with pro-intervention forces who suggest that America's credibility is at stake if the U.S. does not take action in Syria. "Our credibility is not at stake. The president's credibility is at stake," Ingraham insisted. "For the neoconservatives to say, our credibility is at stake, I would submit to them that our credibility might be at stake because of very confused foreign policy over the last 12 years, let alone over the last 12 months," she added. "I was one of the most vociferous supporters of the Iraq War," Ingraham continued. "That strengthened Iran's hand." "In the last 10 years, we've gotten involved in two major military actions," she said. "Our country is poorer, we have more unemployment, we have Barack Obama as president. We wouldn't have Obama as president, sadly, if we didn't go into Iraq." "The Constitution is very clear: there is not a blank check for any executive, Republican or Democrat, to bring the country into another ill-conceived, undefined war," Ingraham declared. Ingraham said that military experts she speaks with cannot identify a strategy that would change the situation on the ground in Syria.- published: 03 Sep 2013

Laura Ingraham Battles Bill O'Reilly Over Syria Intervention: 'We Lose Moral Authority by Acting'
9/5/13 - Bill O'Reilly's frequent guest host Laura Ingraham dropped by The Factor Thursday night to share her polar opposite views on the Syria intervention with the host. Contrary to O'Reilly's assertions, Ingraham argued that the U.S. will "lose moral authority by acting." Ingraham headed off O'Reilly's hints at hypocrisy over her support of the Iraq War up top, saying that while she did argue in favor of invading that country, "over the last several years, I have warned Republicans about continuing to go down this path where, when it comes to military engagements, the American public is not seeing how the military engagement improves their lives." She said that most of what she had hoped would happen in Iraq turned out to be "wishful thinking" and "instead today Iraq is in total chaos. We had great men and women over there, but we lost blood and treasure and lives have been destroyed and families have been absolutely turned upside down." O'Reilly pushed her on the question of whether America's power will "decline" if we do not strike Syria, but Ingraham maintained her position saying that "the opposite is true," arguing that it's America's "weakness" in the first place that is causing so much chaos in the world. Ingraham also said that the only way the U.S. could lose "moral authority" in this situation is by acting militarily in Syria. "America has grown weaker in the last eleven years, after a lot of warfare" Ingraham told O'Reilly. "The elites need to prove to America that they have earned their trust back after a lot of mismanagement of our economy, borders and wars. People don't trust for good reason."- published: 06 Sep 2013

Geraldo Rivera and Laura Ingraham Battle Over Obama's Competence in Syria, Benghazi Sep 20 2013
A wide-ranging and comprehensive battle of the competency of the White House's handling of the Benghazi scandal and the crisis in Syria erupted on Fox & Friends on Friday morning between Fox News Channel host Geraldo Rivera and conservative radio host Laura Ingraham. Rivera challenged Ingraham and the Fox News Channel hosts by noting that he "speaks with some authority" on the subject of military action because he has reported from recent warzones. "The United States military is not a SWAT team," he insisted. "What's sad about this is this is actually an important issue," Ingraham began after watching a portion of a news conference Secretary of State John Kerry gave on Thursday afternoon making the case that the Syrian regime used chemical weapons against civilians. "But, yet, when you see Kerry, he looks so desperate," Ingraham said. "America doesn't plead with the world, okay? America leads the world. And right now, we see America sadly in decline." "John Kerry was really, in many ways, the old prosecutor," Rivera disagreed. "What I lament is he didn't then go on to the next and much more important point that the week is rapidly tolling and where is the inventory -- the inventory of the poison gas that was promised at week's end?" Rivera said that, if an inventory is not produced by the end of the week, a non-military "punitive strike" would be necessary. He defined this as declaring Bashar al-Assad a war criminal. "None of this is ever going to happen," Ingraham responded incredulously. She and Rivera battled over whether it mattered whether the administration could ever convince the international community to support action against Syria. "Are you suggesting we should have bombed them earlier?" River asked. "No," Ingraham replied. She said that, if President Barack Obama truly believed an attack on Syria was in the national interest, he should have done it without going to Congress for authorization. Turing to the Benghazi scandal, and House committee hearings on Thursday into the government's response, Elisabeth Hasselbeck asked Ingraham about the Democratic House members of that committee walking out as the families of victims were preparing to testify. "That was one of the more disgraceful things that I've seen," Ingraham said. "And there's been a lot of disgraceful things when it comes to Benghazi." "If a Republican had done anything similar to that, they would have been destroyed all over our friends on the other cable channels and the elite media in New York and Washington," she continued. "I cannot disagree," Rivera said. "You cannot walk out on the grieving parents of a fallen service member." He said that the administration should have, at this point, mounted a strike on the terrorists implicated in that attack. He attacked the instinct to attack members of the administration who are being held responsible for the failure to prevent this deadly attack in 2012. Ingraham asked Rivera why the Accountability Review Board would not interview former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Steve Doocy asserted that her future political career is preventing the board from pressing her on her knowledge of that attack. Brian Kilmeade and Rivera scuffled over whether it was appropriate for members of the media to identify the administration's failures to respond to that attack as a controversy. Rivera asserted that there is no evidence to suggest that the military could have responded to that attack in time to save American lives, and assertions to the contrary are conspiratorial. "The United States military is not a SWAT team," Rivera insisted. "As the only person I this building who's been in combat in Benghazi, Libya, and with these militia, I speak with some authority."- published: 20 Sep 2013

Laura Ingraham: Shutdown Won't 'Be So Bad For Republicans' if They Hold Out for Concessions
10/8/13 - Conservative radio host Laura Ingraham told the hosts of Fox & Friends on Tuesday that she believes the Republicans in Congress can salvage their reputation with voters if they hold out for concessions from Democrats and President Barack Obama to end the government shutdown. Brian Kilmeade asked about a recent poll which showed 70 and 61 percent of adults disapprove of how Republicans and Democrats in Congress, respectively, have handled budget negotiations. Kilmeade added that Obama's approval rating has actually increased by 4 points this week. "Who feels the pressure most if Wall Street starts cratering, if China starts panicking?" Kilmeade asked. "I think the Republicans right now are going to feel it more," Ingraham replied. "There is no doubt about it." RELATED: Poll: Majorities Disapprove of Obama, GOP, Democrats Handling of Budget Negotiations She said that if House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) were to capitulate today and pass a clean budget to fund the government, the Republican position would not improve at all. "Boehner right now looks like the guy who wants to sit down and work this out," she said. Ingraham added that, if the GOP can force Democrats to concede to even one Republican demand, their position may be improved greatly. "I think the longer this thing goes on with the shutdown, it actually might work a little bit more to the Republican favor, given what we're finding out about illegal immigrants doing rallies on the Mall, yet veterans got the run around for a long time," Ingraham continued. "I think this doesn't wear well with people." "I'm not sure it's going to ultimately be so bad for Republicans if they're able to hold firm now," she predicted. Steve Doocy cited a recent Fox News poll which showed that nearly two thirds of all voters want spending cuts associated with an increase in the debt ceiling. "I think that's the kind of stuff that Boehner is holding on to," Ingraham concluded.- published: 08 Oct 2013
