Meet Dave Bertman, a tightly wound 37 year-old father of one. Bertman's "higher" education begins when medical marijuana activists wielding "loaded" weapons interrupt a planned reunion barbecue with college debate chums. When his teenage daughter Gina Marie unexpectedly arrives with a joint found in her pocket, Bertman assumes the worst. Only after he faces his own hypocrisies, can he have the open and honest discussion needed for father and daughter to understand each other and reconnect. Meanwhile, Bertman's fellow debaters shed their inhibitions and make their own self-discoveries. Tired of seeing her grass-roots campaigns sabotaged by corporations opposing legalization, pro-pot advocate, Dr. Willa Peterson decides the kid gloves are coming off. By convincing the Fun-0nion snack food empire their sales would skyrocket if marijuana was legal, Peterson enlists their corporate might to back her cause. It will take a radical marketing campaign to change the way America thinks about marijuana, and PR guru, Arturo Goldman, of the famous PR firm Goldman, Goldberg, Goldstein, and Goldman comes up with one. "If they can use terrorists to convince people out of smoking pot, then we can use homosexuality to scare them back into it." The romp that follows leaves paranoid Bible thumpers scrambling to get their kids high to inhibit perceived homosexual tendencies. "Totally Baked" takes a satirical look at marijuana's stereotypes and mythologies using a compilation of "Man on the Street" true documentary style interviews, humorous insights by live stand-up comedians, and a series of interconnected vignettes spoofing both sides of the political debate over the legalization of marijuana.

The Dark Crystal - The Director's Cut (RARE footage and all original dialogue!)

Early versions of The Dark Crystal were a bit different than the version we see today. Jim Henson and Frank Oz originally sought to create a much darker story that relied more on the audience and less on voice-overs and inner monologues explaining the plot. In this version there's no narrator, Jen's inner monologues are gone, and the Skeksis hardly ever say anything in English (Aughra speaks some Skesis too!). This version is much more modern and a little darker with this original audio and the slightly different score. Some of the scenes are moved around too, which adds to the surreal feel of the original film. Some test audiences were more casual moviegoers and responded negatively to this version so the Henson team redubbed the ENTIRE film to help explain the plot to the audience up front and make things more obvious. Sadly this beautiful version was mostly lost with a few rough-looking (yet still redubbed at times) scenes making it to the DVD and Blu-Ray versions. Demonoid user Aikousha saw this early test version when he was a kid and took it upon himself to track down this little bit of film history. What he found was a very nasty black & white "workprint" copy (used by the production team) on a VHS tape that was very grainy and was almost unlistenable due to tape compression and SEVERE hiss and noise. But the important thing was that it was a mostly intact version of the beautiful vision of Jim Henson, Brian Froud, and Frank Oz. The Dark Crystal, as originally intended! Workprints are used by the production crew and this one has all the trappings of one. Grease marks on the film, rough cuts, tape slowdown, and unfinished special effects among other things. Now, this workprint is still out floating around on the internet but it's really painful to watch and the sound is atrocious so I took it upon myself to clean up the audio, sync it to a clean treatment of the video, include some scenes that were unavailable anywhere else, and recut a watchable version that played out like the workprint. Disclaimer: It's still a little rough. My computer had lots of slowdown since I was syncing to a HQ vid and some of the missteps in editing weren't noticeable until the 5 hour render was complete! They're minor and not frequent so it might only take you out of the moment briefly. Black and white scenes were included from the workprint occasionally since they're not available elsewhere. They include: A matte painting of the Skeksis castle that pans down to the 'lost' Jen swimming scene, an extended clip of 'Trial By Stone', an extended scene in Aughra's home, and a little extra at the end. Deleted funeral scenes from the DVD are restored to their proper place. Credit goes to Demonoid user Aikousha for finding the workprint and making it available. If anyone wishes to attempt restoring the black and white scenes I'll gladly include them in a new edit of the film. For the record I attempted to contact the Henson company earlier this year when I had about half of the edit complete to ask about sharing this on youtube but they never responded to my inquiry. Also, I just found out today (Dec 2nd) that someone else attempted this same idea and called it "The Darker Crystal" and released it in September. This is NOT his version. I haven't seen his version but I'm sure mine is similar to his. I began working on this over 2 years ago and finally finished it last week. Lots of work but it was worth it. Rant over. Enjoy! Concretar una reforma en el régimen fiscal de Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) daría "más oxígeno" a la paraestatal para invertir y llevar a cabo más proyectos en el país, dijo este martes el director general de la petrolera, Emilio Lozoya, en entrevista con Carmen Aristegui, de CNN en Español "Esto será determinado por el Consejo de Administración, y dependiendo de la rentabilidad de esos proyectos, se verá si se escoge mejor hacer escuelas o se decide invertir en nuevos pozos petroleros", mencionó Lozoya. "El problema es cómo se pagan los impuestos hoy. Hoy se pagan día a día. Es una actitud recaudadora, digamos, del Estado mexicano, y no se comporta como dueño", expresó. Actualmente, Pemex aporta alrededor del 29% del total del Presupuesto de Egresos de la Federación (PEF), según informes de la Secretaría de Hacienda. Para Lozoya, la reforma energética que plantea el gobierno mexicano, encabezado por el presidente Enrique Peña Nieto, fortalecería las finanzas públicas, con un incremento en la producción, y por lo tanto en los ingresos fiscales. "Los beneficios económicos de esta reforma son más de 500,000 empleos directos de aquí al 2018 y más de dos millones 500,000 pesos al 2025. Además bajarían las tarifas de energía eléctrica, y por lo tanto el del gas también", dijo en la entrevista. Si pensamos en seguir igual, expresó, un Pemex más fuerte solo se lograría por medio de endeudamiento, y "no podemos arriesgar el futuro" de las siguientes generaciones con un esquema así. "Ya hemos pasado por ese camino y nos ha ido mal", continuó, además de exponer que la deuda de Pemex "ya es cuantiosa". Lozoya habló un día después de que el presidente de México, Enrique Peña Nieto, presentara su propuesta de reforma energética, que contempla cambios a los artículos 27 y 28 de la Constitución. En su iniciativa, Peña Nieto plantea un nuevo régimen fiscal para Pemex, y que la empresa establezca contratos de utilidad compartida, con los que la iniciativa privada participe en la exploración y producción de hidrocarburos. "Pemex y la CFE (Comisión Federal de Electricidad) se mantienen como empresas 100% propiedad de la nación", dijo el mandatario. "Pemex y CFE de ninguna manera, y aquí lo afirmo categóricamente, no se venden ni se privatizan", agregó. Pemex competiría en procesos de licitación Lozoya indicó que, con la utilidad compartida que se propone en la reforma energética, Pemex participaría en procesos de licitación, e incluso podría perder frente a empresas privadas, cuando se ubique un posible yacimiento. Si se descubre un área donde potencialmente hay "muchísimo petróleo", detalló, existiría la posibilidad de que el Estado lo asigne directamente a Pemex, sin un proceso de licitación. Aunque también podría ocurrir otro escenario: "Se da una licitación, y si vemos que las pujas serán muy altas, por otros participantes del mercado... deciden participar, y hacen pujas muy altas, el capital que Pemex pudiese invertir ahí dice 'mejor no voy ahí', y voy a otro yacimiento donde sé que tengo mayores probabilidades", explicó. "Ahí puedo ir como Petróleos Mexicanos solo, o asociado con algún privado", agregó. Lozoya mencionó que la competencia por los hidrocarburos generará transparencia. Grupos opositores han criticado la propuesta de reforma energética del gobierno. El Partido de la Revolución Democrática (PRD) indicó que se opone a los cambios a la Constitución. El dirigente del Partido Acción Nacional (PAN), Gustavo Madero, calificó la iniciativa como "tímida, miope y retrógrada". Lozoya explicó a Carmen Aristegui que México importa el 33% del gas que consume a "precios absurdos", principalmente desde Asia, porque el Estado no planeó la infraestructura necesaria. Podría traerse a territorio mexicano con un costo más bajo, desde Estados Unidos, agregó. "No nos alcanza para todo", dijo el director de Pemex, sobre las razones por las que México no invierte para producir su propio gas, y también para obtener petróleo.

How do you use Satellite Director ?

Find a satellite in 3 screens: 1- Location, 2- Satellite, 3- Director. Warning: The compass of your phone can get inaccurate because it is affected by magnetic fields or because it is weakened by age. Calibrating the compass may not help or it may only work correctly for a few moments. The app is add free. Screen 1: Location. There are 2 methods to do this. Method 1: Enable the GPS in your phone and wait until the GPS fix is ready. It can take several minuts before your phone has a GPS fix. Method 2: Alternative, disable the GPS in your phone and manually enter the GPS coordinates. The GPS coordinates are in the format degrees dot decimals. You could use Google Earth to find the your GPS location, or, use a real GPS receiver. Screen 2: Satellite. Select the satellite tab. There are over 270 Satellites in the list. When no satellite is selected Satellite Director automatically scrolls to the satellite closest to your GPS location, or, when you have already selected a satellite to the selected satellite. In this case I select "Astra 2F | 2A | 1N | 2D" at 28.1 degrees but then Iuse a Satellite position of 28.2 of "Astra 1N | 2F". Screen 3: Director. Select the director tab. I assume that the pole on which the satellite dish is mounted is aligned perpendicular to the earth with a plummet or plumb line. Satellite Director has calculated the azimuth, elevation and skew for Astra 2 for my location. I use these calculated values to set the dish elevation at 26.8 degrees, and for the dish skew or LNB skew at -15.7 degrees. When this is ready I continue with the azimuth. Hold the phone 30-50 centimeters above the satellite dish. This distance is required to avoid disturbing the compass. I align the top of my phone to the satellite's azimuth by turning clockwise or counter clockwise until the cyan ball is in the cyan circle. Align the offset arm of the satellite dish in azimuth with the cyan arrow while the cyan ball remains in the cyan circle. You can do both simultaniously. The satellite dish points now, in azimuth, to the satellite. To further improve the received signal I use the signal strength page of my satellite receiver, and fine tune manually the dish elevation, skew and azimuth. This is a tricky job, because the alignment can easy become faulty. The only solution is repeat the same alignment sequence "elevation, skew, azimuth" for 1 or 2 times. That is all.
