'Captain's Lady' is a one owner yacht that has been kept in remarkable condition since her inception. Sitting proudly in her own berth at the RPAYC, she is meticulously and professionally maintained by the club's shipyard and resident mechanics, riggers and electricians. Her hull has retained her high gloss, thanks to regular polish, wax and hose down after each use. Her interior is as new, with absolutely no cuff marks or tired varnish either inside and outside, perfect upholstery, scratch-free stainless steel fixtures and appliances, corrosion-free engine and mounts, etc. The engine bed and bilge are in pristine condition, as is the anchor locker, where rust, grease and dirt often render these areas unsightly. Her engine, a Universal M35, one of the most popular US marine diesel widely used by the American yacht industry, has only 500 hours approx. on the clock. It is quiet, simple and easily accessed for maintenance, as well as offering a good torque for her 35HP, easily pushing the yacht along at 7-8 knots. The head area is well proportioned and equipped with hot and cold pressurized shower, toilet with Macerator and holding tank, lovely timber trimming and good storage. The galley is in pristine condition, with a gourmet oven (the owner's family love cooking delicious food), a very large fridge/freezer with proper insulation (unlike many modern production yachts), two deep sinks with varnished timber covers, wide bench tops and lovely timber-trimmed cupboards with ample storage capacity. The saloon/dinette with opposing sofa is large enough to sit 8. The table lowers to make another large double bed if needed. Cushions and insert are thick and extremely comfortable. Several port-holes and overhead hatches offer good lighting and cross-ventilation. The yacht is completely free of leaks, mold, condensation or smells. The yacht was built for US weather, and as such well insulated against both cold and uncomfortable heat. For a 34 yacht the Catalina 34MKII offers a cockpit large enough to make 40' yacht owners envious. With the wheel set well back, and with all the sheets run well aft of the guest sitting area you will not have to trouble your guests every time you need to tack.
