RSS (or Really Simple Syndication) provides a convenient way for you to receive content “feeds” from a variety of sources, including the latest news headlines from News.com.au and our network of sites.

When you subscribe to an RSS feed, new stories and updates are automatically delivered to you the moment they are published. In order to subscribe to feeds, you need to download news reader software or use a Web-based news reader. This allows you to access all your feeds in one convenient location.

What is an RSS feed?

RSS (or Really Simple Syndication) provides a convenient way for you to read the latest articles from News.com.au.  These articles or content “feeds” are updated at the same time as they are published on News.com.au

The RSS feeds need to be viewed via a news reader or via Microsoft Outlook. There are many free or inexpensive news readers available with various capabilities. Most allows you to access all your feeds in one location.

These RSS feeds are for personal use and can only be used news reader applications. You may not publish headlines from these channels to a web page. By using our RSS feeds, you agree to our RSS terms and conditions.

Viewing Feeds in a Personal RSS reader

A feed reader is an application known as an aggregator or news aggregator that retrieves syndicated content that is supplied in the form of a web feed (usually in the formats of RSS, Atom or javascript formats). RSS readers allow you to display and subscribe to any number of RSS feeds.

What content is provided?

RSS-enabled sites provide RSS feeds that list article headlines, summaries and links back to the full article. Typically the summary is approximately 100 to 200 characters in length providing an overview of the story allowing users to select the stories that most interest them.

Content is frequently updated

Content provided in RSS feeds is updated continuously. The moment we publish a story across our sites it will appear immediately on the RSS feed.

How often should I check for updates to my subscribed feeds?

It is recommended to set the updates to every five minutes.
