What is Flickrock?

Flickrock is a free viewer application that works using the official Flickr sharing API.
We want to provide photographers a suitable frame to showcase their portfolio. We designed Flickrock to enhance the image browsing experience allowing to show and discover photo galleries increasing the visibility of the original Flickr site.

Why Flickrock is an outstanding way to showcase photos?

- Simple interface
Flickrock displays all photogalleries with as little distraction as posible, with no visual overload and no advertising. We want every photographer to be protagonist and their work look its best.

- Large images
Flickrock shows photos in big sizes to be appreciated all its details. By clicking an image an even larger photo is loaded in a lightbox.

- Infinite scroll
On Flickrock all photographs are displayed as one continuous stream, so you can view thousands of images without needing to load another page.

- Black background
We want photographs to be appreciated. A dark background brings out the contrast and gives colors a brighter and intense appearance so every image looks really stunning.

- Metadata
Flickrock provides —if available— additional info about the photographs as copyright information, description, date, camera settings (brand, focal lenght, aperture, ISO and shutter speed), and the map location where the photo was taken.

- Sorting options
All phototreams are sorted by popularity so that the best images are displayed first. This default algorithm is provided by Flickr to help you explore the most interesting photos. Learn more about this feature here.
If you like to display the most recent photos first, Flickrock allows you to sort your photostream by date uploaded or date taken.

- Keyboard navigation
To move forward through the stream: use spacebar or → or J key.
To move backwards through the stream: use ← or K key.

- Own domain name
Flickrock allows to use a custom domain name at no cost. Please contact us to request this feature. It's totally free!

Mikel - well done !

I like your simple clean layout very much - before I stumbled upon your application I also made plans to write a flickr viewer of my taste - but now that you have realized my thoughts I can relax ... (-:)

In case your wish-list is open - can I propose two entries ?
(1) the easy one : allow more than one picture in a row
(2) the hard one : allow individual arranging of the pictures

You can visit my photostream here

Meiki

BTW - do you plan to make your software open-source ?

Sorry for the delay to answer.

mapelo, it's free, but is not a desktop software. It is a website, just go to flickrock.com/mapelo/ and check out your photos.

Meiki67, thanks for your comments!
1) that will be really simple, in the app each user can have different template, now you can force use another template using this url:
flickrock.com/t/paginated/meiki67/1... but to enable to custom this I shall have the auth process completed, I'm working on that :)

2) That is on top of the next things after I have the auth ready.

And, yes, after sometime when the code became something decent I want to put on github or something like that. I'm a 100% .windows and Net developer at my work and this app is using the linux, python and django, a new world for me. :)

Thank you very much for your interest and feedback.

Mikel ... I do not understand how flickrock works. And I would like to use it. Nor am I very techno when moving from Flickr to another website ... creating a template for my photos. Thanks Claire
