Neil Marshall (born 25 May 1970) is an English film director, editor and screenwriter. Marshall began his career in editing and in 2002 directed his first feature film Dog Soldiers, a horror-comedy film which became a cult film. He followed up with the critically acclaimed horror film The Descent in 2005. Marshall also directed Doomsday in 2008, and wrote and directed Centurion in 2010.
Marshall was born in Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumberland, England. He was first inspired to become a film director when he saw Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) at the age of eleven. He began making home movies using Super 8 mm film, and in 1989, he attended film school at Newcastle Polytechnic. In the next eight years, he worked as a freelance film editor. In 1995, he was hired to co-write and edit for director Bharat Nalluri's first film, Killing Time. Marshall continued to write and develop his own projects, directing his first film in 2002, Dog Soldiers, a horror film that became a cult film in the United Kingdom and the United States. In 2005, he followed up with a second horror film, The Descent. With his direction of The Descent, he was identified as a member of the Splat Pack.
Game of Thrones is an American fantasy drama television series created by showrunners David Benioff and D. B. Weiss. It is an adaptation of A Song of Ice and Fire, George R. R. Martin's series of fantasy novels, the first of which is titled A Game of Thrones. It is filmed in a Belfast studio and on location elsewhere in Croatia, Iceland, Malta, Morocco, Northern Ireland, Spain, Scotland, and the United States, and premiered on HBO in the United States on April 17, 2011. The series has been renewed for a sixth season, which will premiere on April 24, 2016.
The series is set on the fictional continents of Westeros and Essos, and interweaves several plot lines with a large ensemble cast. The first narrative arc follows a civil war among several noble houses for the Iron Throne of the Seven Kingdoms; the second covers the attempts to reclaim the throne by the exiled last scion of the realm's deposed ruling dynasty; the third chronicles the rising threat of the impending winter and the legendary creatures and fierce peoples of the North.

The Saturn Award is an award presented annually by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films to honor the top works mainly in science fiction, fantasy, and horror in film, television, and home video. The award was initially, and is still sometimes, loosely referred to as a Golden Scroll.
The Saturn Awards were devised by Dr. Donald A. Reed in 1972, who felt that films within the genres of science fiction and fantasy were never given the appreciation they deserved at that time. The physical award is a representation of the planet Saturn, with its ring(s) composed of film.
The Saturn Awards are voted on by members of the presenting Academy. The academy is a non-profit organization with membership open to the public. Its members include filmmakers Jeff Rector, Rich Correll, Tom De Santo, Mark A. Altman and Irwin Keyes, among others.
Although the awards still primarily nominate films and TV in the science fiction, fantasy and horror categories, the Saturns have also recognized productions in standard dramatic genres. There are also special awards for lifetime achievement in the field. The 40th Saturn Awards were held on June 26, 2014, in Burbank, California.
The Dog Soldiers or Dog Men (Cheyenne Hotamétaneo'o) was one of six military societies of the Cheyenne Indians. Beginning in the late 1830s, this society evolved into a separate, militaristic band that played a dominant role in Cheyenne resistance to American expansion in Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado and Wyoming, where the Cheyenne had settled in the early 19th Century.
After the deaths of nearly half the Southern Cheyenne in the cholera epidemic of 1849, many of the remaining Masikota band joined the Dog Soldiers. It effectively became a separate band, occupying territory between the Northern and Southern Cheyenne. Its members often opposed policies of peace chiefs such as Black Kettle. In 1869, most of the band were killed by United States Army forces in the Battle of Summit Springs.
In the 21st-century, there are reports of the revival of the Dog Soldiers society in such areas as the Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation in Montana and among the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes in Oklahoma.

Plot: "Forgive Me Father" tells the story of Virgil Garrett, an intensely frightening, yet strangely sympathetic and sublime character. Garrett was once a ruthless and feared hit man for organized crime boss, Frank Ransom (played by Charles Napier), until he faked his own death, to get out of the "business". Unbeknownst to almost everyone, Virgil Garrett has spent the past twelve years living and working in Canada as a Roman Catholic priest. Now, a mysterious message brings Garrett back from the "dead", like a dragon woken from a long sleep. He learns that his brother Clarence (played by Alexander Hill), has been senselessly murdered, gunned down by Frank Ransom's cocksure son, Tony (played by Chris Elbert), and four of his criminal cohorts. Garrett now makes a transformation and returns to his old ways, but with a different purpose. He is now the personification of retribution with a Bible in his hand and a divine wrath in his heart. Caught up in Garrett's reprisal are three figures from his past; Detective Lansing (played by Stephen Jon Cohen) a tormented police investigator determined to see that Garrett doesn't slip through his fingers a second time; Izzy Goldman (played by Rich Komenich) Garrett's curmudgeonly friend in a business where friendship is at best a question mark; and Lena Sohms (played by Rebecca O'Gorman) a former lover of Garrett's, now a police Lieutenant, who finds herself torn between duty to her job and loyalty to the man she still loves. Concurrently, Tony Ransom and his sensibly meek brother Mike (played by Jeff Bass) are in the midst of negotiating "the deal of the century" with some Nigerian drug lords. Unfortunately, all find themselves on the path between hunter and prey.

Doomsday Trailer. A Neil Marshal Film, director of The Descent-Mint Film.
John Carpenter's low, low budget ($100,000) thriller about a gun-happy attack on a police station was inspired in equal parts by Rio Bravo and Night of the Living Dead. After a lackluster stateside release the film gained traction in Europe and its cult status was set in stone by the early eighties (thanks in no small part to Carpenter's 1978 blockbuster, Halloween). Carpenter, whose original screenplay was titled The Anderson Alamo, was chief cook and bottle washer on the 1976 film, not only directing, writing and editing but composing its score as well (which was recorded in one day). http://www.trailersfromhell.com

Great Britain, 2007. A deadly plague, known as the "Reaper Virus," has broken out, killing hundreds of thousands in its wake. In desperation, the British Government evacuates as many survivors as it can out of the infected area, and then builds a wall, preventing the remainder from escaping. Thirty years later, with the wall still up and the victims all but forgotten, the virus breaks out again. The Government decides to send a crack team of operatives, led by Major Eden Sinclair, into the hot zone to investigate the possibility of a cure.

Directed by Mike Hodges and starring Michael Caine, the shocking and stylish Get Carter is the crème de la crème of 70's British gangster movies. As the vengeful mobster Jack Carter, Caine retains the cool, sardonic nature of his Harry Palmer character but with a distinctly ruthless violent streak. Roy Budd's jazz-infused funk score has developed as much of a fan base as the movie itself. http://www.trailersfromhell.com
This quintessential New World picture from producer Roger Corman features a jaw-dropping array of behind-the-scenes talent including a score from James Horner, a script from John Sayles and art direction from James Cameron. Starring Richard Thomas, the supporting cast is equally impressive, including turns from Sam Jaffe, George Peppard, John Saxon and Robert Vaughn. Directed by Jimmy T. Murakami and an uncredited Corman. Sadly, Murakami, director of animated classics like When the Wind Blows and The Snowman, passed away on February 16 at age 80. http://www.trailersfromhell.com
