Olivia de Havilland shocked and saddened by sister Joan Fontaine's death
Olivia de Havilland "shocked and saddened" by sister Joan Fontaine's death In rare public remarks about her sister and fellow Oscar-winning actress, Olivia de Havilland mourned the loss of Joan Fontaine, with whom de Havilland reportedly feuded for much of their lives. De Havilland on Monday issued a statement through the DGRW Talent Agency saying she was "shocked and saddened" by the news and that she was grateful for "the many kind expressions of sympathies." Fontaine, 96, died in her sleep Sunday at her home in Carmel, Calif. The 97-year-old de Havilland, perhaps best known as Melanie in "Gone With the Wind," is a longtime resident of Paris and over the years often declined to talk about her sister. De Havilland and Fontaine are among Hollywood's most famous siblings, stars from Hollywood's studio era known for their many screen achievements and for a rivalry that at times became public, especially after they were both nominated for best actress in 1941. Fontaine won for "Suspicion," and later recalled the moment her name was announced at the Academy Awards ceremony. "All the animus we'd felt toward each other as children, the hair-pullings, the savage wrestling matches, the time Olivia fractured my collarbone, all came rushing back in kaleidoscopic imagery," she wrote in "No Bed of Roses," a memoir published in 1978. "My paralysis was total. I felt Olivia would spring across the table and grab me by the hair. I felt age 4, being confronted by my older sister. Damn it, I'd incurred her wrath again!" De Havilland went on to win two Oscars, but that apparently didn't warm her to Fontaine. After de Havilland won in 1947 for "To Each His Own," Fontaine came forward to congratulate her and was rebuffed. De Havilland's publicist said at the time: "This goes back for years and years, ever since they were children." tag: olivia de havilland, olivia de haviland, olivia dehavilland, olivia de havilland movies, olivia de havilland sister, olivia de havilland death, olivia de havilland imdb, olivia de havilland photos, olivia mary de havilland, actress olivia de havilland, how old is olivia de havilland, olivia de havilland and errol flynn,de havilland olivia,is olivia de havilland still alive, olivia de havilland bio, olivia de havillanderrol flynn,is olivia de havilland alive, olivia de havilland address, olivia de havilland biography, olivia de havilland height, olivia de havilland today, bette davis olivia de havilland, gone with the wind olivia de havilland, oliva de havilland, olivia de havilland children, olivia de havilland feet, olivia de havilland films, olivia de havilland interview, olivia de havilland oscar, olivia de havilland robin hood, the heiress olivia de havilland,is olivia de havilland still living, olivia de havilland actress, olivia de havilland in gone with the wind, olivia de havilland oscars, olivia de havilland quotes, biography of olivia de havilland,de havilland actress, mary olivia, olivia d havilland, olivia de havilland filmography, olivia de havilland pictures, olivia mary, who is olivia de havilland sister,0livia de havilland, biography olivia de havilland, now is the time olivia de havilland, olivia de havilland now is the time, joan de havilland, olivia and joan, olivia de havilland awards, olivia de havilland daughter, olivia de havilland dead, olivia de havilland paris home, olivia de havilland s sister, olivia de havilland sister feud, sister of olivia de havilland, who was olivia de havilland sister, wiki olivia de havilland- published: 18 Dec 2013

Coco Before Chanel Movie Trailer
Coco Before Chanel is the story of Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel, who began her life as headstrong orphan, and through an extraordinary journey became the legendary couturier who embodied the modern woman and became a timeless symbol of success, freedom and style. The film portrays the formative years of Chanel's life, the years of Chanel spent discovering and inventing herself.
Coco Before Chanel is directed by Anne Fontaine (La Fille de Monaco/The Girl From Monaco) from a screenplay by Anne Fontaine and Camille Fontaine, with collaboration of Christopher Hampton (Dangerous Liaisons), loosely based on L'irrégulière (Chanel and Her World: Friends, Fashion, and Fame) by Edmonde Charles-Roux. The film is produced by Philippe Carcassonne (La Fille De Monaco/The Girl Class) and Carole Scotta (Entre les murs/The Class).
The director of photography is Christophe Beaucarne (Paris, Paint or Make Love); the production designer is Olivier Radot (The Lover, Queen Margot, Gabrielle). The film is edited by Luc Barnier, with original costumes by Catherine Letterier (Cesar Award winner for Bon Voyage and the Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc). Alexandre Desplat (Academy Award nominee for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and The Queen) composed the score.
The production was given the support of the Maison CHANEL, who opened their archives and collections.

Motivator-in-chief Colin Young at Sheffield Doc/Fest 2012
Colin Young "They were grabbing film to be objective. So one of the first things I had to do with them was to
persuade them that film was not objective, that film was subjective, whether it was fiction or documentary. It
was always somebody's point of view. It was never "The Truth". Now the truth is in your bags (audience laughter, a reference to Sheffield Doc/Fest bags "The Truth Is...In Here") but it was not in our films..."
I have an admission to make. I went along to the Colin Young tribute in order to film one of the most talented
documentary filmmakers alive today, the brilliant maverick Sean McAllister, who, I found out during the course of the session, was only inspired to go to the National Film School in the first place due to Colin's reputation.
After months and in some cases years of working with Sean, all his film subjects, without fail, love and admire
him. As a friend, I do too.The subject of Sean's Working For The Enemy, Kevin Rudeforth, is now Sean's webmaster and I promised him some footage of Sean from the Doc/Fest.
So, wanting to save battery power and disc space for Sean talking towards the end of the tribute, I was unable to film the entire session. I did capture a lot of what Colin said, but my heartfelt apologies to some of the other
legends and luminaries of documentary filmmaking, Nick Broomfield, Kim Longinotto and Molly Dineen for omitting them talking about their work. Sheffield Doc/Fest did film the session so no doubt people will be able to see the entire tribute through the Doc/Fest website at some point.
It really was a pleasure to have lunch with Colin and his god-daughter Kate, Nick and Sophia Loukaides, Dick
Fontaine, Petter Vennerød, Sean and Juliette Joffé the day before as well; one of my personal highlights of the
festival.
