Postcard Blitz for Mark Neiweem (Migs) NATO 5

August 23, 2013 by Mail to the Jail

Mark Neiweem aka Migs, part of the group known to many of us as the NATO 5, is suffering horrible abuses in prison. He is scheduled for release in November but the Illinois Department of Corrections has chosen to throw a wrench into that plan. A case is being made to detain Migs for 2 more years because he is an admitted Anarchist. Yes, you read that correctly.

Migs has been in solitary confinement for some time and all he is asking for is postcards with pictures of the outside world.

I remember when Migs was in Cook County Jail prior to taking a plea deal. I was heartbroken to see that he was violently beaten while in solitary confinement and obviously, that happened only by the hands of prison guards.

Please join us in one of the biggest postcard blitzes we can put together for Migs. I would like to begin this postcard blitz today and continue it for one month but we need your help. This case has been political from day 1 and now, to increase jail time for drawing or possessing an Anarchist logo is literally sickening and sets a horrible precedence. Anarchism is not a gang! Join us in showing Migs that he is never forgotten.
