The Recipe:
Yield: Serves 6 (serving size: 4 avocado wedges)
Ingredients
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon sea salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/4 cup plain breadcrumbs
2 large egg whites
2 firm, ripe avocados
Cooking spray
1 lemon, cut into 6 wedges
Preparation
1. Preheat broiler. Place a baking sheet in oven while broiler preheats.
2. Combine flour, salt, and pepper in a shallow dish. Place breadcrumbs in a shallow dish. Place egg whites in a small bowl, and whisk until foamy.
3. Halve avocados, remove pits, and cut each half into 6 wedges. Pull off peels.
4. Dredge avocado wedges in flour, dip in egg white, and then dredge in breadcrumbs. Remove baking sheet from oven; coat with cooking spray. Place avocado slices on baking sheet; coat avocados with cooking spray.
5. Broil 5 minutes or until brown on top. Turn and broil 2 more minutes. Remove and serve with lemon wedges.

The custom of dyeing eggs goes back to ancient times and cuts across many cultures as a symbol of Earth's renewal after winter. Back then, onion skins, red cabbage, beets, seeds, flowers, herbs, and spices were used to tint and imprint designs on eggshells. Those simple, natural materials continue to be one of the most beautiful ways to decorate spring's most iconic food. Our recipe for perfect hard-cooked eggs and our formula for dyeing them make the whole thing easy—just pick a palette ranging from light pastels to richly saturated colors. Set an egg at each place at the brunch table, or pile them in a basket for a conversation-starting centerpiece—they'll make a delightful impression.
Natural Dye-Colored Easter Eggs
For hard cooked eggs:
Add water to a large saucepan to a depth of 1 inch; set a large vegetable steamer in pan. Add 8 to 12 eggs to steamer. Bring water to a boil over medium-high heat. Steam eggs, covered, 16 minutes. Remove from heat. Place eggs in a large ice water-filled bowl for 3 minutes or until cooled.
To imprint a herb leaf silhouette onto the egg:
Place a leaf directly on the shell (you can use a little egg white to adhere into place) Wrap egg tightly in a single layer of hosiery (knee-highs work great) or cheesecloth, gather the ends and secure tightly with a rubber band. Then dye as directed. Blot as much dye as possible from the cloth before unwrapping the eggs
The Dye Formulas:
For Blue Dye:
Roughly chop 1/2 head red cabbage. Combine cabbage with 4 cups cold water in a medium saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes. Strain liquid into a bowl, discard solids. Brown Rice Veggie Sushi
This recipe makes two sushi rolls—one for your lunch and one for your kid’s lunchbox. (It also doubles easily for four rolls.) Use it as a starting point and customize with other fillings: try pickled or grilled veggies, smoked salmon, chopped shrimp, or crab salad.
1 1/2 cups water
3/4 cup uncooked short-grain brown rice
1 1/2 tablespoons seasoned rice vinegar
2 sheets nori
1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds
4 cucumber strips
4 carrot strips, blanched
6 avocado slices
2 teaspoons Sriracha
Bring 1 1/2 cups water and rice to a boil in a medium saucepan; cover, reduce heat, and simmer 40 minutes. Remove from heat; let stand, covered, for 10 minutes. Uncover; drizzle with vinegar, tossing well to combine. Cool to room temperature.
Wrap a sushi mat entirely in plastic wrap. Arrange 1 nori sheet on mat, rough side up; pat half of rice evenly over nori. Sprinkle with 1/2 teaspoon sesame seeds. Flip nori over, rice side down. Arrange 2 cucumber strips, 2 carrot strips, and 3 avocado slices along edge of nori closest to you; top with 1 teaspoon Sriracha. Roll up nori tightly using mat. Place roll, seam side down, on a cutting board. Repeat procedure with remaining nori, rice, sesame seeds, cucumber, carrot, avocado, and Sriracha. Cut each roll into 7-8 pieces.

This camping cookware set is made from titanium thanks to the legends at Snow Peak! I've owned various camping stoves and cookware equipment but nothing comes close to the compact and light weight Snow Peak range. Titanium is stronger and lighter than aluminium. The only downside of titanium is it's more expensive and is a bit slower to heat up than aluminium.

I made this video to thank Snow Peak for making the ultimate cook set, best in the whole world. Here's their new 300ml cup. Fits inside the old 450ml, which then fits inside the 600ml. that then fits into the 700ml. theres the lid for the 700ml,
700ml fits into the 900ml. It all packs inside itself. Heres an alteration I made, I made a lid for the 600ml mug by cutting the top off a tin can. Theres the 700ml with its lid. 900ml has a fry pan lid. The new 300ml titanium mug is very impressive. Inside I can put a cleaning pad, pepper, salt, some foil. Unfortunately the home made 600ml lid doesn't fit inside. When having a campfire in the woods its best to have a very small fire for safety, it also wastes less of natures resources.

Avocado Fries | Wow! | Cooking Light
We thought we had explored every way to enjoy the buttery-rich yumminess of avocados. But then we swooned over a photo of the breaded avocado fries in chef Hans Röckenwagner's latest cookbook, Das Cookbook. Röckenwagner, known for applying German cooking techniques to Californian cuisine, features these delightful snacks on the menus at two of his Los Angeles–based cafés. Inspired by the photo, we created our own lighter version, and the results were even more delicious than we'd imagined: When you coat creamy avocado wedges with a crisp breadcrumb crust, that contrast of textures makes the avocado seem doubly silky-rich. Be sure to follow Röckenwagner's advice for success and start with firm, ripe avocados; cooking won't add flavor, so the avocado has to be perfect from the start.
The Recipe:
Yield: Serves 6 (serving size: 4 avocado wedges)
Ingredients
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon sea salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/4 cup plain breadcrumbs
2 large egg whites
2 firm, ripe avocados
Cooking spray
1 lemon, cut into 6 wedges
Preparation
1. Preheat broiler. Place a baking sheet in oven while broiler preheats.
2. Combine flour, salt, and pepper in a shallow dish. Place breadcrumbs in a shallow dish. Place egg whites in a small bowl, and whisk until foamy.
3. Halve avocados, remove pits, and cut each half into 6 wedges. Pull off peels.
4. Dredge avocado wedges in flour, dip in egg white, and then dredge in breadcrumbs. Remove baking sheet from oven; coat with cooking spray. Place avocado slices on baking sheet; coat avocados with cooking spray.
5. Broil 5 minutes or until brown on top. Turn and broil 2 more minutes. Remove and serve with lemon wedges.

Wow! How to Make Inside-Out Pancakes
Turn regular pancakes into something way more fun: Flip them inside out so they become a portable, handheld breakfast on the go with a hot, gooey interior. This treat was inspired by a classic Korean street-food goodie called hotteok, which I loved in Seoul. Here we place a filling of brown sugar, toasted pine nuts, and cinnamon inside regular whole-wheat pancake batter. The results are irresistible: The brown sugar melts to a yummy molten syrup as the cakes cook. In line with this issue's fast theme, we used a whole-wheat pancake mix, and it all came together in less than 20 minutes.

Naturally Dyed Easter Eggs | Wow! | Cooking Light
The custom of dyeing eggs goes back to ancient times and cuts across many cultures as a symbol of Earth's renewal after winter. Back then, onion skins, red cabbage, beets, seeds, flowers, herbs, and spices were used to tint and imprint designs on eggshells. Those simple, natural materials continue to be one of the most beautiful ways to decorate spring's most iconic food. Our recipe for perfect hard-cooked eggs and our formula for dyeing them make the whole thing easy—just pick a palette ranging from light pastels to richly saturated colors. Set an egg at each place at the brunch table, or pile them in a basket for a conversation-starting centerpiece—they'll make a delightful impression.
Natural Dye-Colored Easter Eggs
For hard cooked eggs:
Add water to a large saucepan to a depth of 1 inch; set a large vegetable steamer in pan. Add 8 to 12 eggs to steamer. Bring water to a boil over medium-high heat. Steam eggs, covered, 16 minutes. Remove from heat. Place eggs in a large ice water-filled bowl for 3 minutes or until cooled.
To imprint a herb leaf silhouette onto the egg:
Place a leaf directly on the shell (you can use a little egg white to adhere into place) Wrap egg tightly in a single layer of hosiery (knee-highs work great) or cheesecloth, gather the ends and secure tightly with a rubber band. Then dye as directed. Blot as much dye as possible from the cloth before unwrapping the eggs
The Dye Formulas:
For Blue Dye:
Roughly chop 1/2 head red cabbage. Combine cabbage with 4 cups cold water in a medium saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes. Strain liquid into a bowl, discard solids. Cool dye to room temperature. For each 1 cup of dye, add 1 tablespoon distilled vinegar and 1 tablespoon Fruit Fresh Produce Protector. Add eggs (make sure the dye fully covers the eggs) and refrigerate. Turn eggs occasionally to dye
