Lionel Edmund Rose MBE (21 June 1948 – 8 May 2011) was an Australian bantamweight boxer, the first Indigenous Australian to win a world title.

Born and raised at Jacksons Track in Victoria, Australia as well as the town of Warragul, Rose grew up in hardship and learned to box from his father. Roy (his father), was a skilled fighter at local house shows.

Later at the age of 10, Rose struck up a friendship with his teacher Ian Hawkins (who observed him shadow boxing). Aged about 15, he went under the tutelage of Frank Oakes, a Warragul trainer (whose daughter Jenny he later married). He won the Australian amateur flyweight title at 15.

After missing selection for the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Rose began his professional boxing career on 9 September 1964, outpointing Mario Magriss over eight rounds. This fight was in Warragul, but the majority of Rose's fights were held in Melbourne. Along the way he was helped by Jack and Shirley Rennie, in whose Melbourne home he stayed, training every day in their backyard gym.

Alan Rudkin MBE (18 November 1941 – 22 September 2010) was a British, Commonwealth, and European bantamweight boxing champion (1965–1970). He was born in St Asaph (Wales), as his pregnant mother was evacuated from Liverpool during the second world war. He was brought up in Dingle, Liverpool, and was a member of the Florence Institute.

He was a three times challenger for the undisputed World Championship, on one occasion in Japan. Rudkin appeared to be ahead on points but lost a contentious decision.^{[citation needed]} He was awarded an MBE in 1973. In 2007 the Liverpool Echo included him in its list of the 800 greatest Liverpudlians, as part of Liverpool's 800th anniversary.

Rudkin was found collapsed on Mount Street, Liverpool in the early hours of 21 September 2010. He died early on 22 September 2010. The cause of death is at present, unclear.

Masahiko Harada (born April 23, 1943, in Tokyo, Japan), better known as Fighting Harada, is a former world boxing champion. He is currently the president of the Japanese boxing commission.

Harada was arguably one of Japan's most popular boxers; his fame reached international status, and Puerto Rico's Wilfredo Gómez declared that Harada was his idol as a child.

Harada began fighting as a professional on February 21, 1960, knocking out Isami Masui in round four, in Tokyo. He won his first twenty four bouts. Among the notables he beat during that span were Ken Morita, who later became a respected boxing official and who was beaten by Harada on June 26 in the first round, and future world champion Hiroyuki Ebihara, who was undefeated in nine fights before meeting Harada and who was beaten by Harada on December 24, by a decision in six rounds.

On June 15, 1962, he suffered his first defeat, being beaten on points by Edmundo Esparza over ten rounds in Tokyo.

After one more win, Harada received his first world title try: on October 10 of that year, he became the lineal and WBA world flyweight champion by knocking out Pone Kingpetch in the eleventh round, in Tokyo.

Rafael Limón (born on January 13, 1954) is a Mexican former boxer who was a world champion in the Super Featherweight /Jr. Lightweight division twice.He is better known as Bazooka Limón. Limón shares his nickname, Bazooka, with at least two other known world boxing champions: Puerto Rico's Wilfredo "Bazooka" Gómez and Ghana's Ike "Bazooka" Quartey. Limón was a southpaw, and fought with a wide arm, wild-swinging style that was all his own. In spite of the fact that he often-arm punched, he scored a lot of knockouts by wearing opponents out by letting them hit him in his iron jaw, then refusing to stop moving forward.

Limón is very famous also for his legendary rivalry with Bobby Chacon. Their first fight took place on December 7, 1975, in Mexicali, Mexico. Limón defeated a streaking, and heavily-favoured Chacon by a decision in ten that day.

It was around 1977 and 1978, that negotiations took place to put Limón against the WBA's world junior lightweight champion, Samuel Serrano. However, the negotiations stalled and that fight never took place.

Rubén Olivares (born January 14, 1947) is a former Mexican boxer and current member of the Boxing Hall of Fame. A native of Mexico City, Olivares was a world champion multiple times, and considered by many as the greatest bantamweight champion of all time. He was very popular among Mexicans, many of whom considered him to be Mexico's greatest fighter for a long period. Olivares also had cameo appearances on Mexican movies, and he participated in more than 100 professional bouts.

Olivares made his pro debut at the age of 17, by knocking out Freddy García in round one at Cuernavaca. With that knockout win, a streak of 22 knockout wins in a row had been set off. During that streak, he beat Tony Gallegos, Monito Aguilar and Antonio Leal, among others. It was on March 8, 1967, that Felipe González became the first one to go the distance with Olivares, when Olivares defeated him by a decision in 10 at Mexicali. Then, on July 29 of that same year, Olivares had the first spot on his record, Germán Bastidas holding him to a ten round draw.
