Channel Awesome
Channel Awesome, Inc. is an online media production company based in Lombard, Illinois. The company was created in 2008 by Mike Michaud, Mike Ellis, and Bhargav Dronamraju. Channel Awesome operated the That Guy with the Glasses website (often shortened to TGWTG) until late 2014, when it was replaced by the current Channel Awesome website.
That Guy With The Glasses previously hosted fellow channels by Bar Fiesta beginning in November 2009, Blistered Thumbs beginning in November 2010. As of May 2015, Channel Awesome currently hosts a YouTube channel of the same name with an emphasis on the Walker Brothers' content, as well as the YouTube channel League of Super Critic that includes several of the site's other top producers. All of Channel Awesome's content is hosted by Blip or YouTube.
Origins
Mike Michaud, Mike Ellis and Bhargav Dronamraju created Channel Awesome after they were laid off from Circuit City in 2007. The three discussed the idea of such a company while still employed, but their dismissal was the impetus to put their plans into action. Michaud has stated that "If we didn't lose our jobs, [the business] wouldn't have happened anytime soon."

The Frames
The Frames are an Irish band based in Dublin. Founded in 1990 by Glen Hansard, the band has been influential in the Dublin rock music scene. The group has released six albums. In addition to Hansard, the band's current lineup includes original member Colm Mac Con Iomaire, Joe Doyle, Rob Bochnik and Graham Hopkins.
History
The band began in 1990 and consists of survivors of Dublin's prolific early 1990s rock-and-roll scene. The band was central to the development of many emerging Irish rock bands of the time, including Turn. They also toured together with other Irish artists. In December 2004, Hansard appeared on stage to collaborate with Paddy Casey and The Dublin Gospel Choir. In 2007 The Frames toured Australia and New Zealand as the support act for Bob Dylan.
The name The Frames arose from Hansard's habit of fixing bicycles of his friends. The large number of bicycle frames lying around his house led neighbours to dub it the "house with the frames". In a 2001 interview, Hansard said, "I worked in a bicycle shop for a little while, but the name came from ... my back garden was so full of frames, my house became known as The Frames house, much to my mother's distaste, she hated it. But my garden was full of frames, old bikes, I would make up bikes for my friends out of all the old bikes. So it sort of became known if anybody found a bike up on the hill on the way home they would throw it into my garden, a graveyard for old bikes."

Professor Dean Kenyon is an authority on chemical evolutionary theory and the scientific study of the origin of life. After receiving a Ph.D. in biophysics at Stanford, he later completed post-doctoral work at the University of California, Berkeley, and was a Visiting Scholar at Oxford. Dr. Kenyon has taught at San Francisco State University since 1966. In addition to his teaching graduate seminars in information theory and the origin of life, his undergraduate offerings have included courses in evolution, cell biology, biophysics, and human genetics. In 1969, Dr. Kenyon co-authored a seminal-theoretical work titled Biochemical Predestination. Professor Dean Kenyon is an authority on chemical evolutionary theory and the scientific study of the origin of life. After receiving a Ph.D. in biophysics at Stanford, he later completed post-doctoral work at the University of California, Berkeley, and was a Visiting Scholar at Oxford. Dr. Kenyon has taught at San Francisco State University since 1966. In addition to his teaching graduate seminars in information theory and the origin of life, his undergraduate offerings have included courses in evolution, cell biology, biophysics, and human genetics.
In 1969, Dr. Kenyon co-authored a seminal-theoretical work titled Biochemical Predestination. The book articulated what was arguably the most plausible evolutionary account of how a living cell might have organized itself from chemicals in the “primordial soup.” His subsequent work resulted in numerous scientific publications on the origin-of-life problem. However, by the late 1970s Dr. Kenyon began to question some of his own earlier ideas. Experiments, including his own laboratory work, increasingly contradicted the materialistic assumptions common to both origin-of-life and evolutionary theory.
In this thought-provoking interview, Professor Kenyon discusses the numerous problems in neo-Darwinian theory and the scientific evidence which has led him to conclude that the major groups of life were not the result of pure undirected Darwinian processes. Over thirty questions are answered dealing with a wide range of topics, including the strengths and weaknesses of neo-Darwinian theory, the problems of incipient stages for evolution, the lack of transitional series in the fossil record, mechanisms which prevent major evolutionary change, academic freedom, scientism, the alternatives to neo-Darwinism, and more.

The origin of life mandates Intelligent Design and Creation as is daily shown by highly intelligent homo sapiens (Latin for INTELLIGENT MAN) scientists designing experiments to create lives through cloning, stem cell research and genetic recombination, although they are still not capable of creating life de novo without pre-existing genetic material. There's nothing fairytale with the Supernatural Creator God existing outside of His physical universe to create this universe in 6 literal days as recorded in the Bible. With intelligence involved, things can be designed and created quickly. Even little children with limited intelligence can create some castles and buildings using Mega Bloks or Legos in just a few hours. If God needs to use evolutionists' imaginary "billions of years" to create this universe, He is certainly not the Omnipotent and Omniscient God of the Bible, so Christians should have no fear of facing atheists being intimidated by their claim about the Bible being a fairytale.
On the other hand, with pure natural processes, aka natural disasters, alone without any intelligent input, through billions of years, more destruction and havoc are ensured. This is what happens after a hurricane, tsunami, volcanic eruption and other natural DISASTERS devastate an area. This evolution fairytale even given its magical ingredient of PAST TENSE "billions of years" is still not working with organisms daily observed to only beget after their own kinds as the Bible claims. The biblical principle of after their kinds is truly scientific, not evolutionists' frog-turning-into-prince fairytale which still cannot be observed after billions of years have gone by. Evolution and other naturalistic explanations (big bang and abiogenesis in primordial soup) are truly fairytales even given long enough time. To make these never proven to work fairytales as part of science and insulting anyone for exposing their falsehood are truly showing how atheists are defaming and defiling science. No science is not falsifiable. If evolution along with other naturalistic explanations cannot be questioned and any professors and teachers who dare scrutinizing them are fired from their teaching positions, then it's apparent that atheists are not promoting science, but their no god belief, materialism, naturalism and humanism.
If anything should be taught as truly scientifically and historically supported explanations for the origin issues, it's Intelligent Design and Creation, not naturalistic explanations that have never proven to work even after "billions of imaginary years".

Her teaching and scholarly interests include Christian understandings of redemption, feminist theology and ethics, Jewish and Christian feminist ethics, Christian ethics regarding war, and college student spirituality. She worked as a Lutheran parish pastor in San Francisco for six years in the 1980’s, and before coming to Moravian College was Chaplain and Assistant Professor of Religion at Goucher College in Baltimore and the Associate Dean for Religious Life at Stanford University. Her 2011 book, "U.S. War-Culture, Sacrifice and Salvation" explores how formulations of Christian redemption have been manipulated to create a world and a time of 'necessary sacrifice'.

The Legend Hank Cochran got its start in June of 2009. I was hired by BMI to make a short film of a surprise party for legendary songwriter, Hank Cochran honoring 50 years of hits. Hank's songs include such country classics as “Make the World Go Away,” “She’s Got You,” “I Fall to Pieces,” and “Set ‘Em Up Joe.” He's had songs cut by a hall of fame list of performers from Elvis Presley to Elvis Costello and hundreds of other marquee names like Patsy Cline, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, and Johnny Cash.
Merle Haggard, Bobby Bare, Jamey Johnson, and Lee Ann Womack, were a few of the musical guests invited to sing acoustic versions of Hank Cochran classics. Elvis Costello, Cowboy Jack Clement, Jeannie Seely, Jim Lauderdale and fifty more or so celebrities and music industry folks mingled and listened. Willie Nelson didn't make his flight but graciously called in and spoke to Hank via speaker phone. Merle acted as master of ceremonies. It was sweet, surreal, and about as stressful a recording/filming scenario as you can imagine.
The Variables: live sound company, event coordinator and caterer, restriction on nearly all the lighting we brought, three distinct areas of the room that needed mics for the recording, no official soundcheck, a three camera shoot but subjects weren't supposed to be aware of the cameras, and the stars were positioned up against a window with the sun shining in. This scenario was as far away from the comfort and control of my home studio as I could be. When Willie Nelson decided to call in to congratulate Hank I was so thankful I had rented a Shure UR4D-H4 wireless mic system. They put a speaker phone on a table in front of Hank so he could hear Willie clearly. I wove a Shure PG185 condenser lav mic into the fabric of the tablecloth, applied a little white gaff tape and hoped I'd be able pick up Willie's distinctive voice.
There were many highlights to the day, most notably the presence of Elvis Costello and his gracious deference to the country legends in the room, Willie Nelson's phone call, and Jamey Johnson's pathos drenched version of Hank's “Is It Raining at Your House.” But then there's the iconic Merle Haggard. Smithsonian is all I can say. Smithsonian. For evidence check out the attached clip of Merle playing a Willie Nelson song, "Back To Earth." It's hard for a producer to record anything of lasting value if an artist doesn't have a unique essence. The Hag has essence in spades. Put a mic in front of him and get out the way. Listen and for a moment you can hear some of the history of America. Not all of it, but some of it, and that's no small achievement.
Before the music tribute portion began I watched Merle walk up to the acoustic guitars provided for him and strum an open chord with the fingernail of his forefinger. He did this four times and walked away. I took it as mild disinterest and asked him if he wanted to play an older Gibson. He said nothing but looked at me with a cobalt eyed stare and lowered his head about 3/4 of an inch. I handed him my son Sam's Gibson J-30. He strummed a chord, kept the guitar, and walked out of the room. That guitar has a way about it. Bono played the same guitar when he came to our house several years ago. Artists tend to know when an instrument invites music and contains it. Sam's J-30 does both well.
