ASAP Mob

ASAP Mob (stylized as A$AP Mob) is an American hip hop group formed in 2006, in Harlem, New York, by members ASAP Yams, ASAP Bari and ASAP Illz. The Mob is a collective of rappers, record producers, music video directors and fashion designers who share similar interests in music, fashion, style and art. The collective consists of New York-based rappers, most of whom carry the "ASAP" moniker, such as ASAP Rocky, ASAP Ferg, ASAP Twelvyy, ASAP Nast and ASAP Ant. The collective's resident record producer ASAP Ty Beats, also carries the moniker and has produced several songs for his ASAP Mob cohorts, most notably Rocky's debut single "Peso".

On August 28, 2012 the group released their first full-length project together, a mixtape titled Lords Never Worry, which received mostly mixed to negative reviews by critics. In August 2013, it was announced ASAP Mob's upcoming debut album, would be released on October 15, 2013, however that would later be delayed. They subsequently released their debut single "Trillmatic", in December 2013. The song, performed by ASAP Nast, is an ode to '90s hip hop and features a guest verse from Method Man. Their debut album, titled L.O.R.D., was set to be released in 2014, however the album was shelved.

Tariq Devega (born July 26, 1990), better known by the stage name ASAP Nast (stylized as A$AP Nast), is an American rapper from Harlem, New York. Nast is best known as a member of the hip hop group ASAP Mob, along with fellow Harlem-based rappers ASAP Rocky and ASAP Ferg. As part of ASAP Mob, they released their first project as a group, a mixtape titled Lords Never Worry, during 2012. His breakout song, "Trillmatic", the first single from the ASAP Mob's debut album L.O.R.D., was released on December 4, 2013. L.O.R.D. was expected to be released during 2014, but however, the album was officially scrapped.

Early life

ASAP Nast was raised in West Harlem, New York City on 116th and Morningside Avenue, and frequently spent time with his cousin ASAP Rocky, when they were kids. When Rocky moved to The Bronx as a teen, the two lost contact, but were reunited by ASAP Bari, one of ASAP Mob's founding members. Nast went to Martin Luther King, Jr. High School in Manhattan. However, he dropped out before he graduated due to him knowing he wanted a career in music. Following dropping out of high school, he worked at the sneaker store Atmos.

ASAP Ferg

Darold Ferguson, Jr. (born October 20, 1988), better known by his stage name ASAP Ferg (stylized as A$AP Ferg), is an American hip hop recording artist from New York City's Harlem neighborhood. He is a member of the hip hop group A$AP Mob, from which he adopted his moniker. In January 2013, Ferg signed a solo record deal with Polo Grounds and RCA, the same labels that helped launch A$AP Worldwide, when Ferg's A$AP Mob cohorts A$AP Rocky and the late A$AP Yams, negotiated their own respective deal in 2011. His debut album Trap Lord was released on August 20, 2013, and was met with generally positive reviews.

Early life

A$AP Ferg was born Darold Ferguson in Harlem on October 20, 1988. Ferg was raised in an area notoriously known as "Hungry Ham (Hamilton Heights)". His father, Darold Ferguson, owned a Harlem boutique and printed shirts and logos for record labels including Bad Boy Records and luminaries such as Teddy Riley, Heavy D, Bell Biv DeVoe, and more. Even though he immersed himself in music, the younger Ferg pursued fashion at first. Inspired by his father, who died of kidney failure, Ferg launched clothing and jewelry lines at a young age and attended art school. Launching Devoni Clothing in 2005, he designed and distributed high-end belts worn by Chris Brown, Swizz Beatz, and Diggy Simmons.
