A Court baron is an English or Scottish manorial court dating from the Middle Ages, the equivalent in England of the hallmote or hall moot of which H. R. Loyn observes "The hall moots of the twelfth century with their Saxon name might well be pre-Conquest institutions though there is no positive proof to that effect. The court was the lowest in the hierarchy of English courts in the middle ages, and the only one in which common villagers routinely appeared.
In the 17th century it was laid down by Sir Edward Coke in his Institutes of the Lawes of England that a manor had two courts, "the first by the common law, and is called a court baron," the freeholders (barons") being its suitors; the other a customary court for the copyholders. William Stubbs adopted this explanation, but Maitland held that court baron means curia baronis, "la court de seigneur," the seigneurial court, and that there was no evidence for there being more than one court. La court de baron is a 13th-century manual for the proper manner of holding a court baron The old view that at least two freeholders were required for its composition is also now discarded. Maitland's conclusion was that the "court baron" was not even differentiated from the "court leet" at the close of the 13th century, but that there was a distinction of jurisdictional rights, some courts having only feudal rights, while others, had regalities as well. When the court leet was differentiated, the court baron remained with feudal rights alone. These rights traced to a lord's jurisdiction over his men rather than to his possession of the manor, although in practice, from an early date, the court was associated with the manor.
Baron Walter Louis Davis (born April 13, 1979) is an American professional basketball player who currently plays for the New York Knicks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). A two-time NBA All-Star, he was drafted as the third pick in the 1999 NBA Draft by the Charlotte Hornets. He went on to play for the Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Clippers and Cleveland Cavaliers before signing with New York as a free agent in 2011. Davis played college basketball at the UCLA, where he was an All-America honoree before turning professional after his sophomore year. He was a star high school player while at Crossroads School.
Davis was born in Los Angeles. His grandmother and guardian, Lela Nicholson, was instrumental in pushing him to play basketball. With her encouragement, he eventually enrolled at Crossroads School, a prestigious private school in Santa Monica, California.
As a senior at Crossroads, Davis led his team to the Championship of The Beach Ball Classic tournament in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina over perennial prep powerhouse Christ The King Regional High School (Queens, New York), while earning MVP honors and a spot on the All-Tournament team along with future St. John's standout Erick Barkley at that prestigious event. That year, Davis was also named Gatorade National Player of the Year and a Parade All-American. He was also selected to play in the prestigious McDonald's All-American High School Basketball Game in Colorado Springs in 1997, playing with future NBA players Elton Brand, Shane Battier, Larry Hughes and Ron Artest, and winning the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest despite being the smallest man in the competition at 6'2."

Rafael Caro Quintero (born October 24, 1954) is an incarcerated Mexican drug lord born in La Noria, Badiraguato, Sinaloa. Quintero was a co-founder, with Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo, of the Guadalajara Cartel and Sonora Cartel. Upon the cartels' disintegration, its leaders were incorporated mostly into the Tijuana Cartel and Sinaloa Cartel. His uncle Juan Jose Quintero Payan used to be one of the Juarez Cartel drug lords.
Rafael was wanted by the U.S. and Mexican governments for the kidnapping and murder of U.S. federal agent Enrique Camarena, racketeering, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and cocaine, murder, continuing criminal enterprise.
Rafael Caro Quintero is the oldest of four brothers and two sisters. Born in the village of La Noria, in the municipality of Badiraguato, Sinaloa. His father was a poor peasant. He left when he was 17 to find work in the state capital, Culiacán, where he briefly worked as a truck driver.
Not lasting long at that job, he started to plant small plots of marijuana in small fields located in Chihuahua and mainly in Caborca, Sonora, with his brothers Jorge Luis and Miguel Angel. Together, they bought farms and turned them into huge marijuana cultivation centers. He learned from Pedro Avilés Pérez, Mexico's most important drug lord at the time. Before long, Caro began to work with his partners, Ernesto Fonseca Carrillo "Don Neto" and Juan José Esparragoza Moreno.
