Badhan clan

The Badhan are a gotra (clan) of Jats found in the Gujrat and Sialkot districts of Punjab, Pakistan, and the Mirpur District and Poonch District of Azad Kashmir.

History & origin

It is claimed that they were the native people of Punjab region before the arrival of Aryans. After the arrival of Aryans they resisted the infiltration and eventually merged amongst invaders. Kala, their ancestor, left Jammu and settled in Sialkot. From Sialkot they spread to Gujrat, and eventually Mirpur.[5]

Ram Swarup Joon[6] Badhan under Budhwar: Budhwar kings are mentioned to have offered presents in the Rajsuya Yagya ceremony of the Pandavas. The descendants of the Budhwar gotra in the western Punjab are called Satroya, Badhan Chatra, Siyan, Gawaya, Goch and Mudyal

Religion

Badhan Gotra found in Sikh. They are honest and hardworking people. They are natives of Punjab Hoshiarpur area. They believe in Guru Nanak's principles.

Badhan (Persian governor)

Bādhān ibn Sāsān (in Arabic: باذان ابن ساسان‎; also Bādhām باذام) in Islamic historiography was the Persian Governor of Yemen, during the reign of Khosrau II. He ruled from Sana'a. During his rule, Muhammad had started preaching the new faith of Islam. Badhan sent reports about this new faith to Khosrau II. Muhammad had sent a letter to Khosrau II inviting him to convert to Islam. Khosrau tore up the letter and ordered Badhan to send some men to Medina to bring Muhammad to Khosrau II himself in Ctesiphon. Badhan sent two men for this task. When these two men met Muhammad and demanded he come with them, Muhammad refused. Instead, he prophesied that Khosrau II had been overthrown and murdered by his son Kavadh II, his stomach torn just like he had torn his letter. He also prophesised that if Badhan converted to Islam he would be able to keep his throne. The two men returned to Badhan with the news regarding Khosrau II. Badhan waited to ascertain the truthfulness of this disclosure. When it proved to be true, Badhan converted to Islam. The two men and the Persians living in Yemen and outside Yemen followed the example of Badhan and also converted to Islam. Thereafter, Badhan sent a message to Muhammad, informing him of his conversion to Islam. He sent messages to various parts of Yemeni Arab settlers of different kingdoms of they had trade link at that time, such us Persian qom of cylane,Malaya, Malayana, Bettella, etc. and ordered to built mosques over there.

Tribeč

Tribeč is a crystalline mountain range in western Slovakia, in the Inner Western Carpathians within the Fatra-Tatra Area, roughly between the towns of Nitra, Partizánske and Zlaté Moravce. It is surrounded by the Danubian Lowland, Pohronský Inovec, Vtáčnik mountains and the Upper Nitra Basin. It is 50 km long and has maximum width of 18 km. Beech trees are predominating in the area. The highest mountain is Veľký Tribeč at 829.6 m (2,721.8 ft). The area belongs to the Ponitrie Protected Landscape Area.

Tribe (biology)

In biology, a tribe is a taxonomic rank above genus, but below family and subfamily. It is sometimes subdivided into subtribes.

In zoology, some examples include the tribes Caprini (goat-antelopes), Hominini (hominins), Bombini (bumblebees), and Thunnini (tunas). The standard ending for the name of a zoological tribe is "-ini". The tribe Hominini is divided into subtribes by some scientists; subtribe Hominina then comprises "humans". The standard ending for the name of a zoological subtribe is "-ina".

In botany, examples include the tribes Acalypheae and Hyacintheae. The standard ending for the name of a botanical tribe is "-eae". The tribe Hyacintheae is divided into subtribes, including the subtribe Massoniinae. The standard ending for the name of a botanical subtribe is "-inae".

In bacteriology, the form of tribe names is as in botany, e.g., Pseudomonadeae, based on the genus name Pseudomonas.
