Die 1960er Jahre - die USA haben sich ein ehrgeiziges Ziel gesetzt: sie wollen Menschen auf den Mond und wieder zurück bringen. Daß dieses große Ereignis ausgerechnet der Kleinstadt Parkes in Australien so großen Ruhm bescheren soll, ist dem rührigen Bürgermeister zu verdanken, denn er hat dafür gesorgt, daß mitten auf einer Schafweide "The Dish", das weltgrößte Radioteleskop gebaut wurde. Nun soll "The Dish" als einer von nur zwei Sendern die ersten Schritte von Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin und Michael Collins auf dem Mond auf aller Menschen Fernsehschirm übertragen. Doch als Apollo 11 sich bereits auf dem Weg ins All befindet, treten unerwartet Probleme auf - das Signal reißt ab. Die kleine "Dish-Crew" um Cliff Buxton (Sam Neill) will vor der Welt nicht als inkompetent dastehen und nimmt die Sache selbst in die Hand. Doch kaum ist das eine Problem behoben, zeichnen sich dunkle Wolken am Horizont ab - im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes...

How to make awesome gourmet sauerkraut at home!
Credits go to Jake (RawUtah) and Patchie for introducing me to fermentation! I show you how to make awesome gourmet sauerkraut at home!
The ingredients I use is: A head and a half of Red Cabbage, 1/2 a head of Green Cabbage, 1 cup of Celery, 1/2 cup or so of Red Onion, a whole cup or more of Cilantro, 4 tablespoons or more of Sea Vegetables, 1/4 to 1/2 cup of Fresh Ginger, 2 tablespoons or so of Celery Seeds, 3 tablespoons of Fennel Seeds and 2 tablespoons of Turmeric *use fresh if you have some* I used them in a powdered form. And 4-5 tablespoons or so Sea Salt! Do not use iodine as it inhibits the fermentation process!
This is a variation of their own kraut called Killa Kraut!

SOME INTERESTING HISTORY OF SAUERKRAUT:
The fermentation process used to make sauerkraut was probably first developed centuries ago simply as a means of preserving vegetables for easy consumption throughout the winter. The health benefits derived from pickling vegetables were already well-known to early civilizations. Historical evidence suggests laborers on the Great Wall of China consumed a version of the pickled cabbage dish 2,000 years ago.
Traditional Chinese has long prescribed sauerkraut juice as a home remedy for many common ailments .
The armies of Genghis Khan most likely first brought the dish to Europe. The Roman army traveled with barrels of sauerkraut, using it to prevent intestinal infections among the troops during long excursions.
In periods and cultures when natural healing methods fell into disuse, people consumed fewer fermented foods and were subject to more illness. Scurvy (vitamin C deficiency) killed many British sailors during the 1700s, especially on longer voyages. In the late 1770s, Captain James Cook circumnavigated the world without losing a single sailor to scurvy, thanks to the foods his ship carried, including sixty barrels of sauerkraut.

Probiotics in Sauerkraut
Four main species of lactic acid bacteria are commonly present in sauerkraut: Leuconostoc mesenteroides, Lactobacillus brevis, Pediococcus pentosaceus and Lactobacillus plantarum. Sauerkraut also can contain other species, such as Weissella species, Lactobacillus curvatus, Lactobacillus sakei, Lactobacillus coryniformis, Lactococcus lactis subsp lactis, Leuconostoc fallax, Leuconostoc citreum and Leuconostoc argentinum, according to the December 2007 issue of "Applied and Environmental Microbiology." Each batch of sauerkraut can contain different species of gut-friendly probiotics in different proportions, making your sauerkraut a different combination of probiotics each time.
