Sung Kang (Korean: Kang Sung-Ho; Hangul: 강성호; born April 8, 1972) is an American actor, known for his role as Han Seoul-Oh in the films Better Luck Tomorrow, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, Fast & Furious, and Fast Five.
Kang was born in Gainesville, Georgia, to immigrants from South Korea. His first major role was that of Han Seoul-Oh from Better Luck Tomorrow, in which he played an aloof gang member. He reprised his role as Han in The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, Fast & Furious, and Fast Five. He was one of the stars in The Motel, in which he played Sam Kim. He also had a role in Jet Li's film War playing an FBI agent, and was featured as a son of Genghis Khan, Doran, in the movie Forbidden Warrior. On MADtv, Sung has played the recurring role of the narcissistic President Gin Kew Yun Chun Yew Nee in the Korean drama parody, "Tae Do (Attitudes and Feelings, Both Desirable and Sometimes Secretive)." Kang also had a small role in the action movie Live Free or Die Hard.
Kang is featured in the music video "Lie" for the Korean band g.o.d..
Justin Lin (traditional Chinese: 林詣彬; simplified Chinese: 林诣彬; pinyin: Lín Yìbīn) (born 1971) is a Taiwanese American film director, best known for his work on Better Luck Tomorrow, The Fast and the Furious franchise and the television show Community.
Lin was born in Taipei and grew up in Orange County, California. He earned an MFA in film directing from the UCLA Film School. His solo directorial debut Better Luck Tomorrow (1997's Shopping for Fangs was co-directed by Quentin Lee) made a huge splash with critics and fans alike. However, his subsequent work, Annapolis, scored mixed reviews from critics but found an audience on DVD, selling more than 4 million copies and landing on top 10-rental lists around the country. His directorial outing, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, was released in North American cinemas 16 June 2006. Universal credits the film (along with The Break-Up) for helping the studio stay in the black in 2006. It has grossed more than $158 million to date.[citation needed]
Vin Diesel (born Mark Sinclair Vincent; July 18, 1967) is an American actor, writer, director and producer. He became known in the early 2000s, appearing in several successful Hollywood films, including The Fast and the Furious and xXx. He founded the production companies One Race Films, Tigon Studios and Racetrack Records.
Vin Diesel was born in New York City, the son of Delora, a psychiatrist and astrologer. Diesel has white and black ancestry. He has described himself as "definitely a person of color" and stated that he is "of ambiguous ethnicity – Italian and a lot of other stuff." Diesel has never met his biological father, and was raised by his African-American stepfather, Irving, an acting instructor and theatre manager. He made his stage debut at age seven when he appeared in the children's play Dinosaur Door, written by Barbara Garson. The play was produced at Theater for the New City in New York's Greenwich Village. His involvement in the play came about when he, his brother, and some friends had broken into Theater for the New City's space on Jane Street with the intent to vandalize it. They were confronted by the theater's artistic director, Crystal Field, who, instead of calling the police, handed them scripts and offered them parts in the upcoming show. He remained involved with the theatre throughout adolescence, going on to attend the city's Hunter College, where his creative writing studies led him to begin screenwriting. Diesel became an active film-maker in the early 1990s, first earning notice for the short film Multi-Facial, which was selected for screening at the 1995 Cannes Festival. Diesel has identified himself as a "multi-faceted" actor as a result of early difficulties finding roles due to his mixed heritage.
Dwayne Douglas Johnson (born May 2, 1972), also known by his ring name The Rock, is an American actor and professional wrestler who is signed to WWE, appearing on the Raw brand. He is often credited as Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
Johnson was a college football player. In 1991, he was part of the University of Miami's national championship team. He later played for the Calgary Stampeders in the Canadian Football League, and was cut two months into the 1995 season. This led to his decision to become a professional wrestler like his grandfather, Peter Maivia, and his father, Rocky Johnson. He gained mainstream fame as a wrestler in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) from 1996 to 2004, and was the first third-generation superstar in the company's history. Johnson was quickly given a push as a heroic character in the WWF, originally billed as "Rocky Maivia", and then as "The Rock". He would subsequently turn into a villain as a member of the Nation of Domination in 1997. Two years after he joined the WWF, Johnson won the WWF Championship, and became one of the most popular wrestlers within the company's history for his engaging interviews and promos. Johnson is regarded by many as one of the greatest talkers in professional wrestling history, Rock was voted third by the fans for his microphone ability behind Roddy Piper and Stone Cold Steve Austin who were second and first respectively.
