Terence "Terry" Woods is a fictional character in the British soap opera Emmerdale played by Billy Hartman. He was one of the longest-serving characters in the show when he was killed-off alongside Viv Hope (Deena Payne) in early 2011, after 16 years. Terry currently serves as the twenty-second longest running character in the history of the show.
When Terry Woods and his wife Britt arrive in Emmerdale, no one is impressed by their brash attitude. As managers of the Woolpack, the couple have a pivotal position in the community but are unable to stay out of trouble with landlord Alan Turner. Although Terry dotes on Britt, it is clear their marriage is in trouble and when they are offered their own bar in New York, Britt goes alone. The marriage limps on but Terry discovers that Britt is having an affair and they divorce.
Now single, Terry takes up ballroom dancing with Viv Windsor, wife of his best friend, Vic, as his partner. After a while, they begin an affair and when Vic finds out, Viv and their daughter, Donna, move into the Woolpack with Terry. Terry and Viv's relationship does not last and she and Donna go back to live with Vic and his daughter Kelly.

Couldn't find it on Youtube so here it is. Heard it in the background of Van Damme's Kickboxer. Sounds a lot like Joan Jett's I hate myself for loving you.
Gay Woods was the 2nd female vocal on "Hark the village wait" steeleye span. And she broke away and did this in 71. So fairly heavy credentials. Amazingly having owned Hark the village wait for over a decade I had never properly read the booklet lol, I read LPs but rarely cd booklets, I thought the vocals were just overdubs of Maddy's voice so this was an amazing find. Come back my love, don't go away
Come back my love, come back to stay
I love you so, well, I want you to know
I need your love so badly
Oh, won't you
Come back my love, don't go away
I need your loving everyday
I love you so and I want you to know
I need your love so badly
You said goodbye, I wonder why
All because of those silly lies
I love you so, well, I want you to know
I need your love so badly
Well, everbody makes big mistakes in this game of
romance
Well, I'm asking you, darling
Why don't you come back and give me a chance?
Come back my love, don't go away
I need your loving everyday
I love you so, well, I want you to know
I need your love so badly
Well, everbody makes big mistakes in this game of
romance
Now I'm asking you, darling
Why don't you come back and give me a chance, oh, baby?
Come back my love, yeah, don't go away
I need your loving everyday
I love you so, well, I want you to know
I need your love so badly
I need your love so badly (Oh, b-b-b-baby)
