The Miseducation of Mitchell is a gritty, inner-city drama that covers one day in the life of Mitchell, a quiet ten-year-old boy who lives with his crack-head mother (Nayomi) in a roach infested downtown L.A. motel. He returns to Chris who then sends him with the money he got from the drugs, to an old racist drunk gunrunner named Harry, to buy a gun. Harry is watching over his dying wife and waiting for the gun to arrive. There is a knock on the door and Harry forces Mitchell to 'wait' in the closet, and not to make a sound. Mitchell listens to a chilling conversation as he realizes Harry's friend is the red neck who tried to attack him earlier. Mitchell takes the gun to T-mon, a pimp who lives in a modern age opium den: pillows, candles, opium, and ho's. He gives T-mon the gun, while T-mon tries to get the trick right. There is a knock at the door and Mitchell hears his mother asking for T-mon. Mitchell hides. Nayomi and Lisa walk in, and pick up the gun that Mitchell just dropped off and leave. Nayomi and Lisa go to do the hit but everything goes terribly wrong. Everyone involved starts getting killed, with Mitchell being the next in line.

Financing their local debut is so expensive, even when the mill allows them free us of its premises -opening some acrobatic perspectives- while even his father won't allow him to touch his mother's inheritance for the project, that the 'Bootmen' need to steal the cheerleaders' podium in a televised sports match to get media attention. Sean generously helps his brother when attacked, at the price of their motorbikes, only to learn his assailant Huey and Mitch rival as car (part) thieves, but still allows him into the group - only to see his fatal fall during an attack by Huey's goons. Even when the mill announces phasing out Sean continues, now as a benefit for the sacked workers' retraining.

After a troubled year in school, Jodi is informed by her teacher, Ms. Hemp, that she will recommend to Jodi's father that the girl be sent to a special boarding school next year. Horrified at the thought of being separated from her beloved father, Jodi does what any young child in the same situation would do: she sneaks into the school the next day when nobody is there but Ms. Hemp is there and brutally murders her by crushing her with a bookcase so Ms. Hemp can't meet with her father. Well, maybe Jodi isn't like the other children. As other people start to come between the girl and her father, they also meet similar fates.

Joseph "Sammy" Samuels is found beaten to death in his Washington D.C. apartment by his girlfriend, Miss Lewis. Cpt. Finlay of the police department is the lead investigator into the murder, which seemingly has to do with a group of four military men - most recently decommissioned - that Sammy and Miss Lewis had drinks with earlier that evening in a bar. Those four are "Monty" Montgomery, Arthur "Mitch" Mitchell, Floyd Bowers, and Floyd's friend Leroy. Indeed, Monty, who is questioned first by Finlay as he wanders by Sammy's apartment during the investigation, confirms that he, Floyd and Mitch were even in Sammy's apartment later having drinks with Sammy, which explains why Finlay found Mitch's wallet in the apartment. On the surface, Mitch seems to be the most likely candidate as the murderer based on Monty's story that Mitch was drunk and out of sorts. A fifth decommissioned military man, Peter Keely - Mitch's roommate - confirms Mitch's tenuous mental state over his uncertain future especially with his wife back in Chicago, but knows sensitive Mitch is not the type of person who could be a murderer. Keely himself tries to find the missing Mitch to get his story and hopefully a confirmable alibi for the time of the murder. Keely and Finlay at times seem to be working on cross purposes, but both come to the realization of the identity of the murderer about the same time. Without hard evidence or a witness, Finlay believes the key to conviction lies with Leroy.

Horse traders Jack Wallace and his partner Manny discover they are being undersold by a dealer named Arnold, and Jack is certain Arnold is selling stolen stock. He traces the Arnold horses to a ranch owned by Ann Morgan and her Aunt Harriet, and finds that crooked-foreman Stoner and most of the hands blame the horse stealing on a white stallion (Starlight the Wonder horse in stock footage) who lures the mares away. Jack and Manny uncover the hideaway of the cached-Morgan ranch horses, and free them before Arnold can run them across the (always-handy) border. The stallion aids them by leading the horses out of the clutch of the outlaws. A terrific fight between the outlaws and Jack and Manny ends with the sheriff taking the outlaws prisoners, the mares returned to their rightful owners, and Jack and Manny established at the ranch.

Margaret Howard, a singer from a once-wealthy family but now penniless, becomes the protégé of Steve Corelli, wealthy nightclub owner and gambler. He falls in love with her. Corelli is an ardent music lover and hopes to see Margaret singing on the stage of the Metropolitan Opera. To make this possible for her, Corelli sacrifices everything, to the extent of plunging himself into bankruptcy. But just as he has secured a Metropolitan contract for her, she also announces her intentions to marry Philip Cameron.
