Arthur Lee may refer to:
Arthur is a common masculine given name. Its etymology is disputed, but its popularity derives from its being the name of the legendary hero King Arthur.
Art and Artie are diminutive forms of the name. A common spelling variant used in many Slavic, Romance, and Germanic languages is Artur.
The origin of the name Arthur remains a matter of debate. Some suggest it is derived from the Roman nomen gentile (family name) Artōrius, of obscure and contested etymology (but possibly of Messapic or Etruscan origin). Some scholars have noted that the legendary King Arthur's name only appears as Arthur, or Arturus, in early Latin Arthurian texts, never as Artōrius (although the Classical Latin Artōrius became Arturius in some Vulgar Latin dialects). However, this may not say anything about the origin of the name Arthur, as Artōrius would regularly become Art(h)ur when borrowed into Welsh.
Another possibility is that it is derived from a Brittonic patronym *Arto-rīg-ios (the root of which, *arto-rīg- "bear-king" is to be found in the Old Irish personal name Art-ri) via a Latinized form Artōrius. Less likely is the commonly proposed derivation from Welsh arth "bear" + (g)wr "man" (earlier *Arto-uiros in Brittonic); there are phonological difficulties with this theory—notably that a Brittonic compound name *Arto-uiros should produce Old Welsh *Artgur and Middle/Modern Welsh *Arthwr and not Arthur (in Welsh poetry the name is always spelled Arthur and is exclusively rhymed with words ending in -ur—never words ending in -wr—which confirms that the second element cannot be [g]wr "man").
Alone Again may refer to:
"Alone Again Or" is a song originally recorded in 1967 by the rock group Love and written by band member Bryan MacLean. It appears on the album Forever Changes, and was released as a single in the USA, UK, Australia, France and The Netherlands.
Versions have subsequently been recorded by an eclectic variety of bands and singers including UFO (1977), The Damned (1986), The Oblivians (1993), Sarah Brightman (1990), The Boo Radleys (1991), Chris Pérez Band (1999), Calexico (2004), Matthew Sweet and Susanna Hoffs (2006), Les Fradkin (2007). Two demo versions by MacLean himself were released in 1997 on his album Ifyoubelievein.
MacLean originally wrote the song, then called "Alone Again", in 1965 for Love's debut album. However, he did not complete it until the recording of "Forever Changes" in the summer of 1967. The song was inspired by his memory of waiting for a girlfriend, and the melody drew loosely on Prokofiev's Lieutenant Kije Suite. The essence of the song is the contrast between the positivity of the tune and the bleakness of the lyrics, with the chorus "And I will be alone again tonight, my dear" finishing with a lone acoustic guitar, closing the song with the opening melody that sounds anything but ecstatic, ending with an E-minor plus 2 chord.

Ian Hunter, along with Robert Plant, Ryan Adams, Garland Jeffreys, Nils Lofgren and more, played a special benefit show at NYC's Beacon Theater on June 23, 2006, for Arthur Lee who was struggling with leukemia. I was lucky enough to have a photo pass for the show and was able to videotape interviews backstage with most of the performers. Ian was a very nice gentleman and an incredible performer as he covered his hits with Mott the Hoople and solo. His soundcheck was a joy unto itself as he played several songs he did not use in the show. Enjoy!

Rosa asks Arhtur Lee from the group Love a series of questions. Lee tells her that if she wants to make as a musician she needs to bring something original to the table. He also tells her that during his free time he likes to stay at home and that he feels no different than before he became famous. Long before Mazzy, Arthur Lee penned and recorded the OG "Five String Serenade". Like much of what LOVE accomplished, uniquely, it's a quietly psychedelic folk rock soul masterpiece...

( Link to the Rhino version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gu3mH1zWScc ) My initial intention was making another of my usual "pressings comparison" videos, but in all honesty I think this LP is a truly delicious listening to keep it switching audio qualities back and forth. Plus, I couldn't pick one single track for demonstration, so I decided to upload the entire album in separate videos for each version. It's that good! (to me and many others, at least) It has many "hippie" qualities, but it's not a sloppy-sounding album. The songs' arrangements are carefully and skillfully crafted, and the performances are truly inspired. Any "best of" list is supposed to be taken with a grain of salt, since those lists are subjective. Nobody is obligated to like an album just because it appears in ...
