Without the assistance of the
Freestore Foodbank (
http://www.fsfbmedia.org), more than 7,
500 children in the
Greater Cincinnati area would be a little hungrier each month. More than 18 million pounds of food is distributed each year by
Freestore, a
United Way (http://www.uwgc.org) agency partner, to the area's most vulnerable residents.
Northwestern Mutual -- The Kelley Financial
Group (http://kelleyfinancial.nmfn.com) recognizes this community need and supports this organization and others through its partnership with United Way of Greater Cincinnati. Approximately 96 employees from the office have logged more than 240 volunteer hours this past year helping at the Freestore Foodbank, building developmental toys, assembling literacy kits and assisting at a children's camp.
Northwestern Mutual, through its
Foundation, is recognizing http://kelleyfinancial.nmfn.com with its
2013 Community Impact Award. The annual regional award recognizes Northwestern Mutual (http://www.nmfn.com) offices that demonstrate exemplary service with a local nonprofit. In addition, the award secures a $50,
000 grant for United Way of Greater Cincinnati.
The $50,000 grant will be used to support United Way of Greater Cincinnati's mission to lead and mobilize the caring power
of individuals and organizations to help people measurably improve their lives.
