Colin Lawson & Michael Harris discuss Mozart's Allegro in F K580b, for clarinet in C, basset horn & string trio, completed by Franz Beyer, during recording sessions with "The Revolutionary Drawing Room" for Clarinet Classics CC0068
This takes place on a dual carriageway , you know the roads that have an overtaking lane. Well this muppet decides that using the over taking lane to pass a cyclist, just like the rest of the traffic managed to do perfectly well, isnt for him. He blasts past about 3" from my shoulder just for a laugh.
I went to the police station to report this incident, the women at the desk was very reluctant to even acknowledge that an incident took place as I wasn't actually hit. Seems like scottish police prefer attending fatal road incidents than policing bad drivers. The deciding factor in actually taking it further was that I had camera footage.
So I was then contacted by Peter Armitage from the police, initially he had problems actually watching the footage as the police are so technologically old school. When the footage was viewed, it was explained to me that this incident was not dangerous driving, not even careless driving, it was merely inconsiderate driving. So if there had been a parked car on the side of the road I'm sure the truck would have managed to perform a safe overtake, but a human being, he intentionally drove as close as possible.
The reporting of this incident to the police was actually plan B. There wasn't much traffic on the road this day so there was no queue at the Haudagain roundabout. Plan A was to catch up with the truck is the busy traffic, drag the driver out of his cab and kick his head in. I'm always keeping my eyes peeled for this truck so hopefully soon I will get my chance.

Colin Lawson
Colin James Lawson MA (Oxon) MA PhD DMus FRCM FRNCM FLCM HonDMus Hon RAM, is an English clarinettist, scholar and broadcaster. He was born on 24 July 1949 in Saltburn-by-the-Sea and educated at Bradford Grammar School. A pupil of Thea King, Lawson read music at Keble College, Oxford. Postgraduate studies in music at the University of Birmingham saw Lawson awarded the MA in 1972 for his study into the clarinet in eighteenth-century repertoire. His subsequent doctoral research into the chalumeau in eighteenth-century music (1976; published by UMI in 1981) remains the most extensive study of the instrument and its repertoire.
Following academic positions at the University of Aberdeen and the University of Sheffield, Lawson was appointed to the Chair of Performance Studies at Goldsmiths, University of London in 1998. He was Pro-Vice Chancellor and Dean of the London College of Music & Media at Thames Valley University (now the University of West London) from 2001-2005. In July 2005 he became Director of the Royal College of Music, London, where he holds a Personal Chair in Historical Performance.

A partner in a law firm, accounting firm, consulting firm, or financial firm is a highly ranked position. Originally, these businesses were set up as legal partnerships in which the partners were entitled to a share of the profits of the enterprise. The name has remained although many of these entities are now corporations and equity is usually held by shareholders. Sometimes senior employees of the firm may have the title "partner" (e.g., "salaried partner") to indicate a profit sharing status. Salaried partners are distinguished from equity partners, who own the business.

This takes place on a dual carriageway , you know the roads that have an overtaking lane. Well this muppet decides that using the over taking lane to pass a cyclist, just like the rest of the traffic managed to do perfectly well, isnt for him. He blasts past about 3" from my shoulder just for a laugh. I went to the police station to report this incident, the women at the desk was very reluctant to even acknowledge that an incident took place as I wasn't actually hit. Seems like scottish police prefer attending fatal road incidents than policing bad drivers. The deciding factor in actually taking it further was that I had camera footage. So I was then contacted by Peter Armitage from the police, initially he had problems actually watching the footage as the police are so technologically old school. It is considered Jet Li's breakout role in the English speaking American film industry.
The film's plot is loosely related to William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, but the feuding families are respectively black and Chinese. The film's setting is Oakland, California, but other than a few establishing shots, film production was entirely in Vancouver, British Columbia. This film was the acting debut of late R&B; singer Aaliyah.

Recorded at around the age of 92 years old, on Sunday, November 14, 2010.
